december 2019 my TSH was 4.555. GP wanted me on 2 meds and told me to increase my protein intake. I got the meds, never took them. Went WFPB, stopped drinking sodas. Saw GP 9 months later, took new lab test. TSH now 2.5. GP was happy thinking i took the meds and ate the dead animal flesh. I stood up, got both meds out of my pocket, gave to GP, told her I NEVER took 1 pill and went vegan. Lost some 35lbs since last visit. She NEVER complimented me on the weight loss or lowering my TSH. She said I didnt listen to her and should get a new GP. LOL

It's been 11 years since I stumbled on Dr. Barnard on public television talking about the health effects of a vegan diet. It happened to be the start of Lent, so on a whim I figured I'd try it... for just 40 days. But then Easter came and I felt so good that I never went back, and it's been life changing!
Before going vegan (and also gluten free and low sugar soon after that) I was on thyroid medication, and struggling with arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation; I was obese, and generally sore and exhausted all the time. All of this is in the past, and now pushing 50 I'm one of the healthiest and most energetic people I know! This man changed my life forever!

Going Gluten Free helped my Hashimotos Hypothyroidism tremendously. My TPO went from 400 to 5. I also transitioned to a vegan diet during that time. I thought maybe it was just the vegan diet and maybe I didn't really need to avoid gluten, so I did the experiment of adding some sprouted organic whole wheat bread. Then I read that even folks with Celiac Disease can eat sourdough bread without a problem. So I added in sourdough bread. One year of that and my TPO was back above 100. So now I will be gluten free for life and going to retest TPO again in a few months. It can take up to 6 months for the effects of gluten to fully leave the body -so I've read.

I hope I will decrease TSH. It was 15 when I found out and now it's two months later, my ultrasound is ok. I have had weird symptoms but not really fatigue, also I have dizziness that's the most annoying thing. I don't drink coffee anymore, except that one morning coffee. I take some herbal tinctures that naturally balance women hormones. But idk seems like I became hypochondriac and scared and listen my body too much... Also intermittent fasting helps a lot, but I am very skinny and it's not easy to maintain healthy weight when fasting.. I lose weight fast

GEEZ... I changed my diet last February 2021 and I only started feeling good at the end of January 2022. I bought 5 different types of cheeses because I didn't want to eat meat for a while because I had gained 10 lbs. During the holidays. I bought Whole Fat mozzarella for my pizza(s) sliced cheese for quesadilla, asiago for pasta, a solid feta block for salads, and just for sport added some smoked gouda to make grilled cheeses samiches to go with tomato soup. And in 1 WEEK, I turned the clock back 1 year... I'm tired, heady, irritable and my feet are FREEZING. PLUS I got Zits ! AND, the main issue that I've struggled with is hair loss on and off for 35 yrs... I've given enough blood to have my own blood bank but my levels are Always normal... And after being a human cheese factory for a couple of weeks, after I washed my hair last week, it's coming out in gobs... So, I just lived Exactly what the doctor stated. Eat Clean period. Our hormones are us !!

I began Vegan Omega vitamins bc my eldest son told me to try them. I had had Covid in early months of Pandemic so wasn’t able to get tested. I went through that yr. not knowing I was considered a “Long Hauler”. My girlfriend told me. I usually don’t watch the news. She said I had all the signs. So, after about six months on the Omegas for my brain cognition, I saw my temple area of my hair line sprouting new growth and I was getting my widows peak back. In 67 this year and I can’t tell you what a difference it has made in my hair regrow the and my brain cognition. My hair was already receding from low hormones since 60. So the new growth is replacing my forehead where it was receding

She’s on a strict diet of organic chicken and many organic vegetables. So, she spent a lot of money but it’s worth it if you can afford to find a good dr to get to the bottom of inefficiencies, lack of vitamins and minerals, and other system disrupters. Great video, very informative. I was diagnosed with Graves disease and hyperthyroidism 3 months ago, my endocrinologist put me on methmazole and told me to have a follow up test in 3 months. 3 months later, my TSH test came back from 0.001 to 16.5 so I guess I’m a hypo now. Has anyone else experienced this and could it be just because my dosage should have been lowered and monitored frequently instead of waiting for 3 months? Today is only Monday and won’t meet my endo until Friday, so I don’t know what to do yet, guessing it make sense to stop my medication until then. I’m just a little stressed that my thyroid levels are out of wack. 😢 I’ve been almost vegan since I found out about this which I think helped tremendously, avoided gluten, processed food, alcohol and dairy as well, except last night, I had take out pizza, wings and wine (can’t help it, it was a long week) lol 😅. Today I’ve been feeling nauseous and weak, also had a hot flash earlier, so I’m convinced, healthy eating really helps.

I switched over to taking a Bugleweed tincture that I purchased from Hawaii pharms website. I took 30-40 drops 3 x's a day. Along with that, I took a Motherwort tincture as needed for heart palps. These herbs along with this diet cured me. I was taking Botox and I feel that triggered my Graves. Also iodine is important.

@@gatopard77 I would disagree with that statement. There maybe a transient increase in hyperthyroid symptoms. I’ve had them. The symptoms like palpitations and anxiety will decrease gradually. Adequate amounts of salt and using salt loading help to quash the symptoms. Dr Brownstein reports that in his 20 years of practice giving high doses of iodine he has only had about 6 cases where iodine caused a nodule in the thyroid to overproduce thyroid hormone. Over 99 percent of the time it causes the nodules to disappear. Iodine supplementation needs to be done slowly and you should be taking the companion supplements. These are 1/2 teaspoon extra of salt in a day, 3000 mg of vitamin c in a day and selenium if you need it. Some people also need b2 and b3. My whole point of going crazy writing on this post today is that there was so much wrong information given out here. Look up the work of Dr Brownstein and Lynne Farrow if you are looking for thyroid healing.

Eat whole plant foods, and make sure to eat enough (plants are less calorie dense than animal derived foods, gotta eat a larger volume to get the same calories). Don't calorie restrict, just eat plenty of whole plant foods, when you're hungry, and that leads to weight loss/regulation. Potatoes are great. Good luck!

Three months ago I felt symptoms similar to insulin resistance and diabetes, I felt like my blood sugar drop fast from times to time. I am very skinny and vegan for long time, but last few years I ate processed vegan food, literally crap, and was stressed a lot, I lose weight fast. My energy was so low.
Two and half months ago I just decided to completely change my habits cold turkey, get rid of sugar flour etc. to see If I feel better. I started clean diet salads, smoothies, green beans, lots of greens, spinach, glutenfree, and intermittent fasting 16/8. I feel much better the day by day and decided to check my blood finally, results came back, everything was fine, my blood sugar is normal, but my TSH was 3 x higher than normal! 😞 FT4 is normal. However I will continue with good habits and also exercise more. I hope everything will be ok. I hope this condition could be reversed. I was thinking like maybe it was even higher before, because I don't have palpitations anymore, my heart rate is normal now, no bloating. But my iron is 29! 😊 30 is maximum. So definitely clean vegan diet works, I will continue. 😊

I went to a sushi bar which had a huge variety, BUT all of it was made with soy! I avoid soy products unless it is fermented. I have a large nodule, I do use a good olive oil, avoid dairy, gluten, caffeine and sugar. Cancer feeds on sugar (replaced with monk fruit sweetener). Why look for more issues!? Yes, to turmeric in conjunction with spirulina, and boswellia. Meat is organic chicken, a little calves liver, a little organic beef, and shellfish and fish. Yes, selenium works with iodine. I do take one capsule of kelp iodine daily. I went through a year of major stress and developed the nodule. Stress increases cortisol which causes disease of sorts when long term, and also depletes Vitamin D and Iodine. Thank God there are physicians online who will tell about all of this kind of natural health solutions. I'm working on shrinking this nodule with a supernatural healing.

@@adorable3817 iodine levels in American bodies have dropped in half since the 70s. The thyroid is 80 percent made up of iodine by weight. The t in t3 and t 4 stands for iodine molecule. The two biggest reasons for this are taking iodine out of the bread in 1971 and the addition of bromine to bread. There are many more, but most American made bread has bromine in it. There is so much bromine in our diets in the US that it nearly impossible to get away from it. Most people should be taking large amounts of iodine. Read Dr Brownstein’s book or look him up on TH-cam. There is a protocol to increase your iodine without side effects from detoxing off of bromine.

As I understand, you should not eat uncooked cruciferous vegetables. All cruciferous foods should be cooked. And no animal protein, so no meat or dairy, and no gluten, so no breads, cakes, can eat gluten-free, though. You must incorporate a varied WFPB way of eating if you want to heal. Good luck.

    • @k.h.6991
      @k.h.6991 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

The plant based doctors are unanimous that eating cruciferous vegetables, even raw, is fine. Just don't eat them close to the moment when you're taking your hormones. So wait that half hour.
If personal testimony works: I just started on thyroid hormone and they certainly work, despite me upping my raw cruciferous vegetable intake.
Bottom line: veggies help your body heal what can be healed. You want to also prevent your thyroid from getting worse. Avoiding meat and dairy, and increasing vegetable intake are essential for that. Some people even manage to reverse hypothyroidism. That is not likely on a high animal food diet.
Also: there are so many other health benefits to a WFPB diet, that even if it doesn't fix your thyroid, it will improve your health and wellbeing.

It would be very beneficial to mention and compare the Vegan diets to the carnivore and keto diets. There are tons of professionals praising the benefits of each one of the diets and viewers are clearly confused. Some even proclaimed that all 3 diets are good, as long as we avoid processed foods and eat natural whole foods.

A lot of people on keto diets develop thyroid issues.

Had posted on IG recently on a page exalting eggs. I shared how I had been an avid egg eater and got checked and realised that I had massive amounts of cholesterol, and how cutting out eggs helped me drop cholesterol by 34% within 6 weeks without meds. Was being told by some people how cholesterol number doesnt matter, aprticle size matters, blue zone populations have high cholesterol lollll, and various rubbish. Was feeling a bit dejected about how ignorant people are. I was too till a few months ago.
But then was speaking to Dad. He has been able to stop taking his diabetes meds ever since he went plant-based, and now he and Mom are sharing the message with my aunts and uncles too, something I would have never expected. So yeah, hoping more and more people realise the power of a plant-based diet and move towards it at a pace do-able for them.

Eggs are perfectly healthy, it's what you cook them in and what you eat with them that can cause problems. Going plant based only works for people coming from a poor diet in the first place. Here's an eye opener, you can be plant based AND eat all the eggs you want!

@@richardmiddleton7770 that is so wrong. Eating a plant based diet helps everyone!
Our most common diseases from heart disease to some cancers to obesity etc stem from the consumption of meat, dairy and eggs.
You do not get clogged arteries from consuming plants and that is a fact.
Eggs have way too much saturated fat and cholesterol and have unnecessary animal protein.
I suggest you listen to the plethora of eye opening podcasts by PCRM and/or watch What the Health, Forks Over Knives, The Game Changers etc.
So much info out there to reach optimal health.

@@richardmiddleton7770 Eggs are not from plants, therefore not plant based. Eating 2.5 or more eggs a week is correlated with an 81 percent increase in lethal prostate cancer according to science. I know in my family all the men over 50 had prostate issues. Not me. Age 50 and zero prostate enlargement after 20 years of the vegan diet.

Would you comment and contextualize the proliferation of "competitive " eating channels? Maybe if a doctor explained the harm being done it would taper off.

Get some help reading the test results. Might just be a matter of misunderstanding the notations. In any case, you need to call the doctor and get it straight, so your treatment is corrected to what you really are experiencing. Also you might be taking too much medicine.

The problem with bread is that there is bromine in it. Bromine is another halogen and takes the place of iodine in the thyroid.

But if this puts iodine in your body isn't that better than iron tablets??
