Yes! Australian here. I spent three years of hell going to doctors with colonoscopy, MRI’s X-rays, ultrasounds and even went to a professor that told me to take a laxative. 🤦‍♀️… instead I find my answers on TH-cam and slowly have found out my thyroid was working slowly. So now making positive changes and including the right supplementation

For two years, I kept gaining weight, regardless of how strict my diet was. NO doctor believed that I was doing intermittent fasting, and keto, because I just kept gaining weight! I even had a doctor tell me, “Instead of eating four Big Macs, just eat one. And skip the ice cream and cake, and go for an apple.” I left his office in tears.
I had bloodwork a year and a half ago, to check my thyroid, and my doctor told me it came back ‘normal’. I was perplexed!
For the past six months, I’ve hardly been eating… still no weight loss. And I’ve actually gained! My sister was doing the same diet, and lost 75 pounds. It’s been making me go CRAZY!
A few days ago, I had bloodwork taken again. And while I was in the office, I was discussing my weight, and how difficult it’s been. I’ve gained 75 pounds in two years! And I don’t understand it.
She talked about weight loss surgery, that I need to stop eating sweets, and on and on… and I got REALLY upset with her! I said, “You’re not listening to me! Even TODAY, I haven’t eaten ANYTHING, except for a bottle of water!”
She then looked at my bloodwork, and her expression changed. She said, “Has anyone ever told you that you have hypothyroidism?”
    I said, “No!”
The last time I went to see her, a year and a half ago, and had my thyroid checked, she told me it was normal. But she misread the results. It was off the charts! And has gotten worse since then. I could clearly tell that she felt bad. But I was angry, because this is my HEALTH, and she misread my results! Still, I’m not going to hold it against her, because she’s being proactive now, and has even scheduled me with a dietician. NONE of my other doctors took me seriously, either. They simply thought I ate like a pig.
I’m on thyroid replacement meds now, and I’m doing the research to learn what to eat, and what not to eat. I’m hopeful that things will change, now that I’m on the right track.
But if YOU have symptoms of hypothyroidism, and you’re getting the runaround… stick to your guns, and demand to see the results. Don’t let a doctor tell you, “You’re fine!”
Make SURE you see the results with your own two eyes. Because doctors are people, too. And they can make mistakes. This is YOUR health, after all.

Your thyroid is overactive making you extrmely hungry. When your thyroid isn't balanced it feels like you could eat a house and not be full. Are you ready for a secret your doctor won't tell you? You have to balance your thyroid with iodine, no not pills or heaps of seafood. Sea kelp is the only source of iodine on earth. I harvest kelp by hand from the ocean with my wife and eat it in smoothies daily. If you can't harvest your own, buy organic sea kelp pills and take them daily. After about a year your appetite will decrease I promise. It takes about a year, sorry. Today Ican go days on no food and not even feel hungry. My wife is pushing sixty and looks amazing in a bikini.

The nodule in a month disappeared. A// avoid gluten & diary. B// (from another source), we ate some ginger or bitter herbs during meals to improve digestion as we are age over 50, c) we drank the good bone broth, with probiotics the Yakult and the G-Niib.

Thank you for the advice. Since I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's (7 years ago) I have been finding it very hard to find a proper diet that will understand this condition. It seems that the diet also varies for every individual. For example, I don't do well when I have lettuce or any other cruciferous family, although I do try and have some spinach or kale once a week.
Interesting, I thought that walnuts were not good for my thyroid... but I must admit, I did have to start having a handful to stop the leaky gut. What a mess! such a small gland that is soooo important for the whole body, and people still get misdiagnosed.

    What we assumed and did
Leaky gut, autoimmune reaction. We did ABC.
    A// Stopped gluten. Stopped oatmeal.
B// improved digestion, eg some ginger in meals
C// Gut health and healing. Bone broth, the good one. Probiotics eg Yakult, and G-Niib.

Nuts I'd be very very careful with so easy to over eat them and they will Infact slow down digestion. Brazil nuts are much better then walnuts. Makes my body break out in a rash all over and all of my doctors ignore me about it... They tell me I have no other option. What kind of nonsense is that? I have no symptoms unless I'm on the medication and then I have all of the symptoms... It's terrible.

There are thyroid hormones which are taken from animals, the doctors don't prescribe them but you can buy them online or from health stores. Also Ken Berry on here has a very good video on ALL the tests you need to understand what is going on with your thyroid, because it's not just as simple as checking thyroid hormone blood level (TSH) only and then giving you thyroid hormone (which is all my GP does).

@@Carlie_flower As you are borderline it's well worth looking at all angles! Dr Sten's video about it made even more sense to me. It seems to be all about the efficiency of the liver to convert T3 to T4, so liver support may help too, good luck!

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the high oxalates in some plants, such as spinach. There is a lot of talk about plant defense mechanisms that can be harmful to humans when consumed, at least in volume.

I take Levothyoxine and armour thyroid. Now I have rheumatoid arthritis and when u talked about leaky gut, I began to wonder. I will get some of these foods in my diet and observe. I am confused about spinach. Seems to be controversial for folks that have thyroid disease but it doesn’t make sense to me. Why would spinach be so bad? If you have the opportunity to talk about this or refer me to one of your past videos for answers, I would appreciate it. Thanks for the info!
