      jasona9 the hack never respected the game, never memorized a play book, never “really” passed a college class. He was lazy and unfocused with no behavioral boundaries. Football chews people up and spits them out if they fail to respect

      Kevin Prima you do know JJ used to be scrawny too right? He said so himself but he put in the work to change that. And besides they’re different positions. QBs don’t need to be near the weight or height of a DE

    • @rainy7106
      @rainy7106 5 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Kevin Prima imagine trying to say a QB’s muscle size has affect on their ability. Go look at Tom Brady’s, the absolute greatest quarterback of all time, combine. He was slow, out of shape, and even more scrawny than Manziel. He simply put in more work with things like Film, reading defenses, mastering playbooks, and even building solid working relationships with his receivers.
      Football has a lot to do with raw physical talent but, that raw physical talent HAS TO be backed up by a passionate, hard working person. There’s plenty of people with the raw physical traits to be pro-athletes, most of them just simply don’t have the necessary drive.

      He really is. As a Louisville fan, I watched him his entire college career and some of the stuff he did was feakin' amazing. His coming out party had to be his first bowl game as a freshman against Texas A&M. If you want to see that party, click here: th-cam.com/video/uV5-A9sd6DU/w-d-xo.html.
      Keep in mind that he didn't even know the playbook during that game because his coach never used one in high school! He later would say in a interview that he didn't really know what most of his guys were doing on the field so he just winged it! Lol! By watching that game, you can easily see how raw he was and how much he's improved. You will also see why he went so late in the draft and why NFL coaches wanted him to change positions. But his mom made sure that he would be a QB at Louisville and the rest is history.
      But the game that won him the Heisman had to be the Gameday thumping against Florida State. By that game, the entire nation was watching and teams knew what he could do. Even still, Louisville with Lamar Jackson hung more points on Florida State than any team has ever done in Florida State school history. THAT WAS A FUN GAME! I was lucky enough to be at both games and this Florida State game was as crazy as a college atmosphere as there ever was. If you want to be entertained, check it out here: th-cam.com/video/lhSZeBRaV3s/w-d-xo.html

      Being drafted by the Browns did not ruin his career. Sure, the Browns are not a top tiered team by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact is that Manziel did not have what it takes to be an NFL quarterback, plain and simple. The NFL is not college football. Player's are drafted and are obligated and expected to train, study, and develop into their respective positions. Yep, as a big Browns fan I got to see all of this. When he got on the field, he actually looked fast. Not NFL cornerback fast, but fast enough to still make big plays on the ground. His velocity on passes was a little better than I thought it would be too. His problem was the not giving a shit about anything but 30 mins of fame. He also got dingged up pretty easy. He made mistakes too. Not a bunch of picks, but he would try to run around the end when there was no chance of him making it to the corner. He really did seem to think that he was going to turn the corner in the NFL like he did in college. He would have needed to work a lot harder to have a chance in the NFL. I never expected much from him when the Browns drafted him, but I wasn't against them taking the chance.
    I think there was a QB controversy with Bryan Hoyar too if my memory serves. Most Browns fans were very high on Hoyer because he went like 6-2 at one point in his starts and he was from Cleveland area. 6- 2 in QB starts in Cleveland is like Hall of Fame stuff since they came back in the league.

He just needs great receivers and O-Line to do it which I don't honestly think he has. Browns still have a lot of building to do offensively, but they at least have a great QB which is the hardest thing to find usually.

      The Misunderstood Assassin more than likely would have sucked. You gotta remember, the top football organizations were picking up on Manziel style of play, as you saw when Bama eventually beat A&M by a touchdown.. imagine 2-3 years of that, and Manziel would have been figured out.
