So I did mention this at the end of the video but this is a slightly modified style of camera comparisons I wanted to try out... basically we are pitting the new flagship (S22 Ultra) against an older one (Mi 11 Ultra) in situations where the previous gen flagship excels... I would love to hear any and all suggestions from you guys to improve these comparisons so do lemme know... and video comparisons are gonna come real soon... provided I don't get sick again😂😂
In my opinion the Mi11 ultra ist better in almost everything. The main Camera ist better, the 5x is definitely better and the ultra wide is better too. The only thing you could doubt to be better on the s22u is the main sensor and ofc the 10x is better. I mean the sensors on the s22u are so god damn small - the ultra wide ist like 1/2.55. all it takes is a bit of software and the mi11 ultra will be still relevant in a year. I own both devices and for photography I would take the mi11u over the s22u any day.
I have watched hundreds of camera comparisons but I still prefer the way you do it than most others - it's simple, straightforward and quite comprehensive. Thank you!

I mean, unlike Samsung Xiaomi understand photography better, Samsung is the brand that loves to brighten things up and lose ALL character in return! But I would say Sony is still the best when it comes to understanding it! I hate how people say: Yeah that phone is better because image is brighter.... WHAT!!! Like in low light as well!! (granted the mi11 ultra isn't amazing in that) But the Xiaomi 12 Pro in low light si really good! Skies are black when they are suppose to be!

Glad u like it... I mentioned it in a pinned comment actually but I'm trying to compare the new flagships with the specialties of older ones... hence the scenarios... 1. I've got the exynos version as usual😂... really wish we could get the snapdragon version... 2. As for the cameras... it's too early for me to tell... it feels pretty similar to the s21 Ultra with a lot of the pros and cons carried over namaste some improvements like edge detection... some more comparisons and I'll have a comprehensive idea👍
Hello, I've been thinking about buying a phone for about two years, finally I bought the phone that I thought about buying two years ago because it's still good in the camera part! I didn't think I would come across such ridiculous shortcomings. 1- Why can't I switch cameras while recording? 2- Why hdr video only on main camera and 4k 30fps ? 3-Why can I get the created copy as the highest 4k 30fps when I want to cut the video I shot in 4K 60fps? 4-And why aren't they mentioned in any of the reviews?
I don't agree on 12:29 You can fix the colours or the WB in post but that soft blurred edge detection across the whole left arm in S22U is a direct put off for me. Good comparo, otherwise. 👍🏼 Edit: also on 14:25 - the road had better texture on the Mi 11U whilst it also retaining marginally better highlights. The 30x on the S22U is mind-boggling, though. As is the night mode portrait shot.
Colours and exposure can easily be adjusted in post... But absolutely nothing can compensate for detail... And in this regard nothing can touch the Mi 11 Ultra's main, ultra wide & telephoto for sheer details... ⭐⭐⭐ Always remember Samsung has tiny sensors for its ultra wide & telephoto cams... versus half inchers for the Mi 11 Ultra.
You should shoot some videos in dark area where you can not see clearly with bare eyes. I believe the s22ultra cannot use telelens, and it cannot adjust brightness the way Mi 11 ultra is capable of.

Allow me to ask about settings you had in mi 11 ultra, Was AI on or off? Off would provide way better and realistic colours. AI enhances colours in a way that I do not prefer. Do you have enhanced image quality activated? Did you turn off beautify or was it kept activated? Much appreciate your response. And I am really happy with this review, great job!!!
@@thetechphenomena so both AI and Enhanced image quality were on. I am 100% sure if AI was off then you would have a better yellow colour in the flowers photo. Very impressed with the work that went into this review , so i subscribed . And after watching it , I'm amazed the mi 11 Ultra got a much higher score on dxo mark ...... Very odd !!!
even if the s22 ultra is more recent or due to many improvements made in the software if your sensor is smaller you will have more limited results, the mi 11 ultra has a 0.9-inch sensor, almost a full inch and that gives it a lot of advantage as more light input and better control of it as well as better depth of field, the 108 mpx are pure marketing the more pixels the smaller they have to be, good for samsung but you are from 2022 and you have to break it and not stay behind from an April mobile from 2021
zoom stabilization and video zoom shift...macroshot....is the down side of mi 11 ultra....other than that...mi 11 ultra is far better slow motion....shater speed.... zoom quality..night photo and videography and the back screen....ice on the cake
After seeing this comparison, I learned that the MI11 is good for taking light bulb pictures, it may be in one or another specific situation slightly better than the S22, but in 95% of the situations the S22 ultra is far superior. I don't know how this MI11 ultra has a much higher score in DXOMark, but everyone knows that DXOMark, never liked Samsung
@@adjeicosmos8611 Whether the mi11 ultra deserves it or not, I don't know, but I do know that the s22 ultra deserves a much higher score on DXOmark, because the Mi11 ultra is in everything inferior to the S22 ultra.
I don't agree with all their test results but in some areas Samsung S22U (and the previous 2 flagship) has issues such as shutter lag, auto-focus especially in low light, low light noise which have been identified not only by DXOMark but on the Samsung forums. I agree that the Mi11U score is too high as it has some issues which seem to be overlooked by their review.
Without lying, I don't like Samsung's new photo-video processing with its S22s. The shadows are blocked, too much contrast, an overexposure problem and above all the HDR is really not at the level of that of the S21 Ultra which once the scene optimizer was disabled and the screen set to natural display mode had near-perfect colorimetry. I have the impression of seeing the S8 again 🤦🏽♂️. I really hope Samsung will fix these issues. And sincerely I can't understand why Samsung persists with this 108 mp sensor and this 12 mp on the ultra wide angle, the GN1 on these 2 sensors would be so perfect, they are still the ones who make it 🤷🏽♂️.
They been try for decades yet they use to be a camera company before make phones, it show they been cutting corners to sell their products extermely expensive
@@dxtnguyxn4179 well that just thing mine is snapdragon and yet some pictures are over exposed plus the phone is extermly hard to upgrade to with not registering properly took me 2 to 4 days upade from note 10 plus to s22 ultra and still their are this missing another complaint is my old device is little faster I retain 5% batterlife during draniage of the battery. There is lot of issues with s22 ultra from my experience from use

I keep ai color switched on... enhancer was on for s22 as well... but beautification filters were all switched off... glad u like it😁
