Been there, done that. My OnePlus 7 Pro is heavy enough but this thing would be like dropping a laptop on your face 🤕.
A few years ago I took a chance and brought the Xiaomi Redmi Pro - I did some research but otherwise had never heard of Xiaomi. I was really impressed, lovely screen, responsive phone,decent Android overlay, fingerprint scanner, everything pretty good. So I'm not at all surprised to see Xiaomi are now challenging Samsung, good luck to them.
One thing also need to be noted is the developer support of xiaomi and they allow their devices to be unlocked and try out custom roms ... so maybe the limitation of the second screen must be solved by using a custom rom 🤷🤷

I've had a Mi Mix 2 for just over 2 years and the only problem I ever had with their software is that they forced the hidden notification icons for phones that don't have a camera in the middle.
that was before the whole camera under the screen thing, im using mi mix2 aswell but the rear paint of the phone easilly scrapped off by my fingers and im not liking it. The phone is great but the paint bugged me off.

I bought into the Huawei p20 pro hype a few years ago and ended up being really disappointed with the camera. Learned a valuable lesson that the most important thing with phone cameras is software calibration not hardware specs. I'll stick with the Samsung for sure.

I'm glad, they actually changed the fact, that you can only get 15 seconds of video with the Secondary display, now you get no more limited time and also you can shoot more than 15 sec by using the secondary display which is quite impressive.
Can you keep the second display On forever ? Or does it close after 30 secs
