- A review of Thierry Mugler A*Men (Angel Men) Pure Malt
Whisky, Vanilla, Cherry and Creamy smell. Smell does not really change through the scent but just becomes a weaker scent.
Day Wear, Work or Casual wear. Works well in the Winter or Fall and summer nights. Can be work with a suit or jeans. Versatility is this fragrances major strength
Fantastic projection
lasts up to 24 hours with just 3 sprays

I like both of them ... I wear pure malt more... but New Haarlem is pretty special in itself. I feel pure malt can be more easily worn that New Haarlem, but it could just as easily be the other way.
Man. Aubusson Sport Red is very similar but hard too find. It has a slightly more chocolatey/coffee note but almost 95% the same. I think aubusson sport red is smoother and better.
No wonder Axe dark temptation sells so well. Smells just like it
like your reviews doc, find them much better than other reviewers around. cause you are not afraid to call a spade a spade whereas most others keep on rating even trash perfumes as good and we end up buying them. whoa. and your description of the video does include the rating/season/projection. when in a hurry or with a down network we get the essence from there. I like that, it's vital and keep it alive. regards.

I was in Macy's and I sprayed this one on my wrist at about 3:00 PM that day. My wrist still smelled of it at 1:00 PM the next day. Longevity like no other, I tell you
Did you take a shower the first day you sprayed it???
Thanks for your review,nice job. I overall perfer the original AM. Pure malt Is very nice but the dry down with AM cant be beat Imho. Pure malt Is a more subtle version,which Is a good thing foir many.

@gekisen01 Honestly? Pure Malt gets more compliments than the original so far from what ive experienced. However I still like the original better.

This is a MANLY cologne, I will wear this til I get old. Def a must buy, go to your local Macy's or Sephora and see if they carry it.

It depends on your skin chemistry.. I generally go one to the chest, head and both wrists.

I worked at wall mart when I was a kid, and in the garden center they sold whiskey barrels as planters for flowers. This barrels must have came strait from a whiskey distillery I could really smell the malt and berry boosey notes coming out of the inside of those barrels its a smell I never forgot and when I got a bottle of this stuff it reminded me of that so much

@spidermonkeyh2l Probably not going to happen. The only reason I say, is because supply is limited. The only way I can see this dropping to less than 70 dollars is if there is a lot of juice that has been used. So lets say a pure malt that is at 40% left or something. Then I can see it dropping to that price. For a bottle though with 90% or more liquid? I don't see it dropping for at the very least, less than it retials for. (You buy it retail for 80 + tax)

@knuckles0135 really? mine does to the point its annoying. I actually have to shower the next day because I can still smell it on me and it interferes with the next cologne i wear
@agts123 Fall and Winter are the ideal seasons for me (I live in NYC, so think those temps) You could also wear in spring, but doesn't fit the mood to me. These I hang up until it starts getting colder.
Yes this on the expensive side, there is no getting around it. At last check since the re-release you could only get it on Mulglers website I wouldn't expect price drop as long as that is the case. For those on the fence get a small decant off the web the price per oz. not that great but make sure you like it before dropping big $.
@knuckles0135 Of the cologne that I have, it would probably have to be Musc Ravageur with original angel men close behind.

@knuckles0135 Nah, not at all. Remember, fragrance is different on everyone. What may smell/last/project great on one person may not do the same for another. What lotion you wear, your natural scent/pheremones/what soap you use etc. all influence how a cologne will smell on you. Personally I use all unscented items, and sometimes I moisturize using baby oil, so that may effect why cologne lasts a long time on my skin as opposed to others.
@pvruffino For the most part.. they do, however I believe they resell some stuff as well... so its not a slam dunk

Hi to use some A MEN FRAGRANCES, I need diluted it with some walter on my hands first. Because it's much strong projection to not offend folks. Still last about 24h

dracdoc - which version of Pure Malt (old or new 2013) is better in whiskey note richness?
I love the first few minutes of pure malt but after the dry down it smells like cigarette smoke on my skin.

Pure Malt was created to give notes of single malt whisky fragrance not "Malt Liquor"(beer) . Nice vid though

A MEN FRAGRANCES always an exceptional lasting long, for me can last incredible 24h, but also offensive projection, if you do not dose it correctly. Kkk
What is the watch you are wearing in this vid?
I have Pure Malt Creation 2013 which they say is the same as the original (or extremely similar) and I don't pick up an alcoholy boozy smell. Maybe just the notes of whiskey but without alcohol if that makes sense. Is this normal or do I just have a weird nose because in Tobacco Vanille I smell booze....
***** I have creation as well, people actually say creation is a better version of Pure Malt. I don't really think so. I believe creation is a hybrid of Pure Malt combined with Pure Havane. I get just a slight hint of whisky, but it is dominated by honey. I like them both, but I lean more towards pure malt as it definitely has that "boozy" note everyone speaks of.
I love it still, its a great flanker!

Cody Kanz Probably too late, but dont get eros. It's very cliche and played out at this point. If u want a lady killer, go for diors sauvage, bleu de chanel, or Armani code. Maybe even aqua di gio. What evers your fancy. All of those r relatively affordable

@spidermonkeyh2l No way you will find this for cheap. Check ebay.....a 5ml sample is going for 20 dollars. This is one of my favorite scents and I am glad I have a 20ml decant, and 2 backup bottles. This scent is amazing. I payed 15 dollars months ago for a 9 ml sample cause it's very hard to find these days for a good price.
Do you have any suggestions to where, online, I'd be able to get this for a cheaper price than $60-$70?

I just this my second bottle of Pure Malt from Fragrance Net today , the first bottle I had the juice in was darker more like a dark brown and it smell of it was just like Angel men with the harsh opening , and the One I got today the juice is the same color as the one in this video and it smells more toned down than the first one . I think the first Pure Malt I had that I got out of Macy's could have been fake or just a bad one off the line ,
