Very informative video! I have the popular clone Star Man Nebula and I must say I have not been impressed for similar reasons. It is good to see that maybe the real fragrance itself just isn’t all that!

Incredible fragrance! I bought this back in the day. 1st bottle went bad because i had it in rotation with a ton of other bottles and it didnt get a lot of love. I havent bought it since, but it was awesome

I got the clone… Star men Nebula by Fragrance World last week and it’s amazing! I paid $29 US.

I got incredibly lucky and found a 2014 bottle for sale locally…was able to pick it up for $90! I haven’t smelled the new versions, but my old juice is AMAZING!!! Beast mode performance (10-12 hours longevity) with amazing scent profile!

I see it’s been mentioned already in the comments but I was lucky enough to find some cheap samples of pure malt to compare it to Star Men Nebula. That clone is phenomenal in my opinion.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to talk, Gerard!! Hahaha. I have Pure Malt in my collection and I have a little different take than Gerard and I think this is stuff is pretty amazing! Come fall/winter or even cooler spring season, I really enjoy this and I get pretty good performance. Now, would I pay in the upwards of $190+ for a bottle, no but if you can find it under $100, it's a no brainer IMHO. Gotta respect your honesty and telling it like it is, Gerard.

Hi, have you smell Valentino uomo the original before, do you think I should pick uomo original or uomo coral fantasy? I tried the coral one and really like it but I haven’t try the uomo original. I know they are really different in terms of notes but for the scent profile, which one do you recommend picking up? Thanks!
I really liked coral fantasy. It’s the most interesting in the line for me personally.

I remember using this one on the back of my neck, just to give the original A*Men a different smell. Sometimes it smelled great; very distinguished, and other times it smelled really cheap (like herbal tea).
I go back and forth still.
I bought my first bottle of pure malt around 10 years ago. Mostly thanx to the fragrance bros on youtube and loved it.
My fragrance collection was just the a men line and i at least smelled different then everybody else.
Later when pure malt went away and came back i bought a new bottle and it was less strong but the scent stayed the same.
It is rather linear but i love the scent so i don't mind. I rarely had a compliment though because it is rather weak of a scent which is my biggest let down with it.
This is hands down my favourite date night scent and wouldn't know anything that bests it in my eyes
If my bottle runs out i will try a clone.

Thierry Mugler is my favorite designer fragrance house. They need to bring back the pure-line, and I mean all of them.

I had a decant years ago and i thought it was just ok. Nothing i had to have right then and there. Had plans of maybe getting a bottle later. Then time passed and the price shot up and i couldn't justify spending that kind of money on something that didn't blow my socks off. I heard about the clone Star Men Nebula from fragrance world and thought I'd give it a shot. For the price of like 20 something bucks i guess it's ok but it just seems overly powdery to me. So much so that i just can't bring myself to wear it. I feel like the hype behind Pure Malt was just that and it just kept growing and growing. Im not sad that i don't have it in my life. Just my .02
I don’t disagree Anthony that’s sort of where I’m at as well. Hype doesn’t match my experience with it.
Older formulation is much better... Really beast mode. Top notes lingers around 3 hours.

I picked it up years ago at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx for $19.99 on red sticker. I think I’ve warn it half a dozen times over the past couple years. I was and am more impressed with the original than this one.

I have got 2 bottles of the original 2009 release of pure malt left over. ( I bought 5 when it was released) It honestly lasts for hrs, and I absolutely love it.
For me it was worth the hype 💯.
As a side note, not only does the boozy smell stay throughout, but it projects out individually from the base.

And they have turned into liquid gold…
I am a big believer in additional maceration taking place and improving certain fragrances…
Pure Malt is one of them… The woods in the base..??? I don’t get that at all with my bottles.. But again I do have older bottles..

Having said all that….. Can’t say it’s worth the after market prices you see nowadays.
All woods with a little sweetness. I agree though I’ll let it settle in. There is some resemblance to the a*men dna as well.

Pure Havane is miles better - Pure Malt 2015/14 bottles and older would be before the Thierry Mugler buy-out - also the batch code is on the actual bottle inside the flask - they made the glass sections of the bottles replaceable inside the flask in 2017 I believe so you can pop the top portion of the bottle off to reveal the bottle with batch code on it - you can also replace the bottle inside the flask if you want as well.

I was trying to see under your bottle. If it reads ''Thierry Mugler'', it's the older form. If it reads ''MUGLER'', it's the newer form. Both Pure Havane and Pure Malt have their ''MUGLER'' version, and their ''Thierry Mugler'' version. Kryptomint and Ultimate, fell under the ''MUGLER'' form as well. The new version of Havane loses the cherry note to my nose, and the new form of Pure Malt is diluted and it's longevity has been cut. I also have Pure Malt Creation 2013, which is almost like Pure Malt Intense. I respect people's opinions about fragrances. Some climb the hill with you, some don't. Best to you and yours, Gerard.

Does the bottom of your bottle say MUGLER, or does it say Thierry Mugler?

I like pure Havane and ultra zest.
its average becuase its a cheap perfume hence the original price while it was still in production $40!!!
The majority of them are cheap despite price unfortunately.

This is 100% fake you are used. Real Pure Malt is extremely strong. I own it.
Definitely a real bottle.
