I would have never thought to parallel Mugler and Parfum De Marley together. But the more o thought about it after you said it, I can see it. Mugler is so underrated. Thanks again, Aaron.

I love Pure Malt myself, and I have all 3 of the ones that I too have observed to have a similar “house” consistency… It’s interesting to hear your parallels to my own observations there. I love this one- especially for the price- but not nearly as much as I love the mysterious complexity of the Violet Delirium I’m currently wearing!! ;-) Thank you, and keep these coming!

Thanks for the tip about using oil to remove nasty perfume. I tried Roja Parfums' Diaghilev Extrait the other day and it was so difficult to wash off. I like some of his other stuff but definitely not that one.

Aaron what a wonderful channel you have. Somehow you always seem to check out fragrances im currently interested in! I was debating purchasing this one as i have many other 'night time' scents, but you may just have sold me on it! Keep it up mate (And i refuse to believe you are 46)

I think that his appearance owes rather more to the surgeon's knife and the botox needle! Also not sure about all the tattoos, but they look OK, it's just that he seems to be trying to be something he isn't. He comes across as being quite theatrical in the way that some gay men do.

Hi Aaron recently found ur channel and have been binge watching it, I love your content !! ngl pure malt is my favorite scent, boozy and youthfully fruity sweet, the finish is so neat as well not dirty like the amen, do you have any suggestions on finding pm alternatives?

I think you nailed it Aaron. Love the original A*Men, and this one is a close second. Absolutely a youthful fruity amber and always reminded me of the scent of dark red gummi bears. Great mass appealing patchouli throughout.

My dear Aaron, I have a blending question: Are there boozy accords based on Amber? I'm getting boozy notes from pure Amber, less sweet than Rum, but something similar to Cognac and Whisky. If yes, with what other notes would you pair Amber to get a full bodied round boozy accord? Thank you!

Do a review for velvet desert oud by dolce and gabana I have smelled this fragrance and was very beautiful and well balanced.
Great review as usual. Love Pure Malt, although nowhere near as much as Tonka. The alcohol and fruit reminds me of Christmas cake. I only ever wear it around Christmas time but its a nice option to have, just hope Loreal don't discontinue it.

I just got a new bottle because this is one of my all time favorites. I love especially this soft wood accord (oak?) And there is something that reminds me to a banana, maybe Benzyl Propionate, which I have at home. Cheers!

When you say you preferred the previous one do you mean Pure Havane or Pure Tonka? Either way I prefer both of those over this one. I thought I liked boozey fragrances but this just smells more fruity than boozey

I have this and pure havane and the original, this one is the one that I am liking more and.more, and I thought I would like the pure havane more, anybody else smell a licorice note in the opening of this?
I agree, too sweet, although I do love Pure Havane (more than this) despite also being sweet.
I love how you try very hard to be objective. The synthetic notes might not be to your particular taste but you still give it a good score based on the demographic and price. Too many reviewers let their personal likes/dislikes cloud reviews when that is just personal taste and has nothing to do with the actual quality of the perfume.
Great review as always. I’m wondering however which fragrances would be considered as “not safe” or at least borderline safe to use? There is not an hour that goes by without having something on my skin so you got me a bit worried there :)
Bellum omnium contra omnes your be fine with mine and other big houses! But there are some neiche houses that don’t get there work safety assessed!
Pure Malt is one of Muglers best flankers. Great rreview!

I got the 2020 version Malted milk with vanilla, sugar, abstract berry like fruits, abstract woods, only thing I thought I could identify were Patchouli, cinnamon dry down and alcohol opening. I'd hate my 200£ Single malt to smell like this.
I agree - I'm a huge fan of A*Men line in general, but they are entirely synthetic to me, and I have to be in the right mood to wear any of them. More natural fragrances are far more versatile.

Its not as sophisticated as PDM. And its not trying to be. But its amazing for the price
It’s good to have options. For many people, PDM might be over the top for day to day use.

Aaron, I really appreciate the tip on how to remove a stubborn fragrance from skin. I wish I knew that last year when sampling a certain fragrance that started to become extremely cloying after around the 1-1/2 hour mark. Thank you for the review!
I have a bottle of cheap vegetable oil and cheap Sodium laureate sulphate based shampoo ready to hand. Remember to put the shampoo over the oil and then apply water. Thats the key bit.
I think it's the tar note that's keeping it from being a masterpiece. If that one note was omitted, then it would get a lot more attention I think.

This thing went for HUNDREDS on ebay years ago! Many a time I found myself feverishly bidding on a bottle around 2011 and losing out. Thankfully Mugler reissued it as a permanent line. I have a bottle of the original, the first reissue and the 2013 Pure Malt Creation!

Ironically, I don't find it particularly boozy. It smells sweet woody aromatic to me. But, as you said, very sophisticated for a synthetic designer frag.
I don't find it all that boozy either, but I do love it.

Pure Malt is discontinued now and it's brilliant for the price point. One of my favourites of all time.

@@ChrisMSepulveda where you based? eBay is your best bet. Full presentation the prices are high. Some people have testers for sale buy one of them if you can get for a decent price. Check eBay daily I bought two testers for £40 each plus p&p.
@@ChrisMSepulveda it's almost impossible to find, and I DO NOT find it worth it even tho it's in my top three favorite scents. The performance is actually quite weak- only get this if you can get 100 ml for under $100. Also, the original amen is actually quite similar and easier to find.
I have dish soap in the shower since it cuts through oils and grease more than body soaps. Ouds take 2 days to wash off otherwise.
Try the oil on dry skin first then put on shampoo then apply water. really massage the oil in and then really emulsify together then apply water.

KingsExecutor out of the two I much prefer Havane, however I do like malt.
I generally love boozy fragrances but for some reason I don’t really like Pure Malt. It’s nice but it’s just doesn’t capture me the way some other boozy things do 🤷♂️
how does this compare to Rolf Spicebomb Xtreme?
Both are dark and sweet but not similar when it comes to scent DNA. Extreme is often compared with TF Noir Extreme.

I like the scent but it just doesn't do well on me when I wear it. It contradicts my personality where I don't want people to portray me in such way cause I prefer some more refined scents but I do enjoy pure malt. However it feels as if the fragrance is wearing me instead of I'm wearing it, hence I spray it when I'm alone only to appreciate the boozy notes by myself.

I had it couple months ago. I liked the scent, but it was gone after 4 hours, sadly.
Oh no!! But for the price you can just apply 4 hours later. Great day scent.

@@AaronTerenceHughes I know. I Bought Baraonda from Nasomatto instead. Its got the whiskey feel, but dryer and more mature for my taste. But it lacks the malty sweetness... maybe Ill find the one scent I imagine on my fragrance journey.

I collect these because of all the good scent memories connected to an old girlfriend. I won’t pay more than $60 for a bottle.

Am I the only one new to this trying to like this and understand the hype? I keep smelling my wrist. I smell mostly the original A*men. And Havane is better and more unique. No note stands out with Malt and I can't tell what i'm smelling. Same fruity honey top as Havane- I am so confused. The only distinctness is a smokiness in the mid. Then same A*men dry down. AND i'm smelling the very first 2009 you guys.
STLL never warmed up to this much- I am going to try the creation 2013 special edition version- there's like zero reviews on this so I guess I'll try it myself.

It is £50. So massively aroma chemical. So your getting what you pay for
too sweet too fruity.. cloying.. a cheap mess
