I really love your format, chill and friendly. The 970 is a beast, i remember when it was the raccomended gpu for vr... good times. Now rocking a 2060 and it's the bare minimum for a good vr experience. If I were you I'd put the name of the GPU in the title, like "A 9-Year-old GPU against 10 Games in 2023 - GTX 970" or something like that. EDIT: Ah mai sei italiano lol
Thank you! I'm currently experimenting with Titles, I thought putting GTX 970 on the Thumbnail is enough, and putting a more intriguing title is better. I want to see how this video perform. Nì, vivo in Italia ma non sono Italiano :D
I'm still rocking it till this day, although I'm finally thinking about upgrading by getting an entire new pc now that I'm not a broke college student anymore lol. Honestly I didn't pull the trigger yet because I've never ran into a game that was unplayable on my system.
Phyiscally you actually have 4GB, but 3.5 GB is running 224bit and the remaining 0.5 GB is on 32bit, this means the speed of the 0.5 GB is really slow compared to the 3.5GB. For comparison: 3.5GB running with 224 bit bus at 7GBPS has a bandwidth of 196 GB/s 0.5GB with 32 bit has 28 GB/s while DDR4 3200Mhz runs at a speed of 25.6 GB/s When filling the 3.5GB of VRAM you're basically going at the speed of your system ram, which is way slower as you can see from these figures.
Interesting, that it still holds up that good, till today. I would like to test the one, that i have here, that i've got basically for free, from a good used system, i bought for cheap last year. But unfortunatly it causes system freezes everytime i try it on different systems. so it seems out of the question. Thanks for the insights, at least now i know, how it holds up today (compared to the 1050Ti and 1060 3gb it stilll hold its own between them and it's great considering its age now).
I Also have a GTX 1060 3GB, I'll be revisiting it in the future. I'm interested to see how it stacks up with the GTX 970! That's unlucky with your GTX 970, have you tried cleaning it? maybe it's over heating or something?
@@ItsMeIvan- I've already cleaned it up completely, cleaned the contacts and checked if they are rusty or broken, but nothing. It sits now since about 3 month in my cabinett just for show (and it looks funny with its "don't touch" sticker on the fan).
@@ItsMeIvan- Maybe i will find out, where the error is, with my gtx 970 some day, i've just got to much other projects going on, to really care, to dive more deeply into trial and error with the 970. It would be intersting to see, head to head, how the 970 comapres to the 1060 3gb, i still have some video-footage online on my secondary channel, where i paired it with a i7 2600 (for a showcase, on how the system performs at some games, to sell it later on to a potential customer and she is happy with it now). Would be cool if you make a follow up video comparing them. You're doing a good job (and just got a new subsrciber 😉).
The video title part "Pushing The Limits" is misleading, it suggests it's gonna be overclocked or something. It's best if changed. Other than that, the video is great testing video. I have GTX 970, so it's always interesting seeing someone testing it.
Thanks for the feedback! My intention is not to mislead, it's more like pushing the GPU on games like Cyberpunk where the GTX 970 really struggles in terms of GPU performance and also VRAM usage. But I do see you point of view. I'll change the title to avoid misunderstandings. I appreciate you for watching the video!
Yo bro I’m subscribed and I really love your vids can I please have a power supply because my Gtx 970 cannot be used with me one I understand if you cannot give one but I would really love one much love❤
Love the content and the meticoulos benchmarking!
yo do you have your titan x gpu id love to see if the videos iv seen are still acurate

@@ItsMeIvan- Btw great quality, keep it up!

It really is, I love seeing graphics cards with triple fan design and good cooling!

i would love to have another gamers opinion on my gpu im having made
Anyone noticed the jinx from lol into fornite world oh gosh hahahahah
kinda confused there is 4 gb vram on card but only 3.5gb usable ?? so 500mb is used as a cache ?

Edit: Perhaps you could even make an OC video too ;)
@@ohmyme13 That could be an idea for a future video! I just need to be careful to not push it too much since it's a 9 year-old card :)
@@ItsMeIvan- I'll be checking up on that video :)
hope you get a sponsor one day lol
I hope too! :D
ill be a sponsor i offer 25 dollars to add me as a joke lol
Nvidia still has new drivers for this gpu, on the contrary, my R9 390 has not new drivers.
That's true... I don't know why AMD stopped giving new drivers for 300 series.
DX 11 runs better then DX12 in Fortnite especially on older cards.
To my results, the average is indeed better, but 1% lows is tad bit slower.
