F to E "Egyptian" well, Spanish but yes, let's just say exotic. ;) What a great idea this was Sped, like letting us peep in on a private lesson! That Paul sounds killer! Gab's acoustic sounds wonderful also!
I think your girlfriend has a Whole Lotta Love saved up for her guitar teacher. She much appreciated your abundant patience cause everybody knows that Sped Kills.
Way to go Sped! I traveled far to see my favorite band ever on May 30, 1977. Landover, MD. Music in the 70s is the best! Led Zeppelin, Who, Floyd, and today there is nothing. The 50s had some good stuff, but then you need to go back to Bach and Beethoven for respectable writing
@@SpedSpedding I knew it was my only chance. We had tickets for Buffalo soon after and the tragedy happened to Robert. I did see them later. Stevie Ray Vaughan opened for Robert , Now And Zen, and then saw the Firm. I wonder what it would have been if Jimmy teamed with Ian Gillian? Your girl is doing great! PS, I love your Les Paul.
I think there's actually a video of Emily teaching it herself online somewhere. One of my Patrons mentioned. I may sling the Tab up there as well as I'm writing it out for Gab as we speak.
Thanks Stephen! Glad you’re enjoying it. Makes a change seeing some interaction. Hopefully makes people realise the time it takes to get things is REAL. 💪🏻
Nice way to present a lesson. Hi, I accidentally found your youtube channel. Interesting video nice to watch (especially you-together). I like the music, theme and atmosphere. You guys. Chemistry chemistry 👍💯😁
Chris, I am the king. Thanks for confirming this. 🤴🏻
😂😂😂😂😂
So smooth wasn’t she.. learning live must be a challenge in itself & good grief.. unpacking this toughy for your first live.. Good God! Cheers. They are a match.. definitely in brilliance. So encouraging to watch this too as a beginner.. I’m so grateful for this.. their amped up artistic lessons are so beautiful!
Hey congratulations, it sure as hell isn’t easy and much more difficult if you’re recording it 😫 , never mind on TH-cam , so this is fantastic, well done 👍
Thank you, thank you, thank you Lee 🙏🏻 always a gem of a comment 🥰
Thank you Lee! She did super well for a first time playing on TH-cam. And genuinely first time we’ve sat down with a guitar each in lesson format. Excited to see her journey. ✨
Outstanding!
Thank you kindly! 🤩
Wow! Nice way to learn that song! Thank you! ✌🏼
Thanks! We thought so. Hopefully gives a real and encouraging perspective for beginners. 🙌🏻
You just wait my good friend!!!! She will be givin` you lessons soon Sped. This was interesting to watch, and Gab will have her work cut out for her with "Babe". Sped I forgot my password for Patreon, so you have not heard from me in a bit. It is Greg from N.Y. if you give a hoot, HahAaa!! It is great to see you and Gab together, it is a special thing ,love is!! Peace my man.
She's trying to cut a 50% royalties split on this video already. We've got a meeting at 6:41pm about this. I'm bringing my whole legal team. Reset your password via email! 🤣 There's literally a button to do so when you try to log in.
You are a great teacher.
Thank you! 😃
Fantastic, great stuff. 🙂 Love it!
Nice on Craig! 💪🏻
You guys are just charming! Well Done!
Thaaaank you Roy! Love that.
That outro was great!
It was the first time we've jammed together... ever. It was really sweet, Gab's concentration and love for it inspired me.😍
Hey guys, great video! Terrific chemistry between you two but seriously sped a guitar tuner for Valentine’s Day 😜
Thanks! As opposed to what? Giving her some dying flowers and chocolates she can’t eat… 😂
She loved it! ❤️
Terrific stuff guys.
Thanks Philip! Already making progress on day 2. 🙌🏻
@@SpedSpedding If you haven't seen it, Pink and Justin Derrico do a fabulous version of this live. "Funhouse" tour, I think.
IF I tried to teach my wife how to play guitar, I’d be wearing it. This girl is an angel…
Hope it’s a comfy one.
Sped your look into the camera after she scratched the guitar was hilarious!
😂😂😂 I mean what else is there to say?
She's gorgeous. Keep her.
Glad you enjoyed it! I read that as you travelled to see them in a Landrover at first! 🤣 Planty would have liked that, I hear he's got a few!
@@SpedSpedding they played 3 1/2 hours.
@@buffalorick5598 That’s amazing! They don’t make ‘em like they used to. I bet 45 minutes was one solo! 😂😂😂
@@SpedSpedding Jimmy is just incredible!!!! And you are a great guitarist too
We all attended the lesson too. Thanks.
Yeaaaah you did. 4K fly on a wall!
She's lovely, next video you guys do together you're both required to wear the dashing hats 🤠
She’s actually nicked my other one for a night out. 😂😂😂
@@SpedSpedding true story 😉
Any chance could you do nostalgia guitar lessons? Because it sounded really nice 😊
I think there's actually a video of Emily teaching it herself online somewhere. One of my Patrons mentioned. I may sling the Tab up there as well as I'm writing it out for Gab as we speak.
That was excellent. Thank you.
You’re welcome Malcolm! We’re so glad you liked it. 🙏🏻
Brilliant video this. 👍🏻
Thanks Stephen! Glad you’re enjoying it. Makes a change seeing some interaction. Hopefully makes people realise the time it takes to get things is REAL. 💪🏻
This is a moment in history
🤩 hoping so Andy!
Well Done Gabby 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Xxx
She did so good!
Nice way to present a lesson. Having a student right there who’s learning a song like the rest of us novices, helps the timing to be more like a real lesson for people on a similar level who are also just learning some of the chords. Nevertheless, clearly the two of you ‘can make beautiful music together.’ 😊😊
So cool that you enjoyed the setup. We aim to do a lot more of this kind of thing in the new year. Once I get my studio setup the way I want. Gab is getting better all the time and she loves it. 🖤
@@SpedSpedding Thanks, it’s good to hear you’ve been thinking of doing more lessons like that. I’ll look forward to seeing others. Happy Holidays to you guys!🎄
Fantastic
Dude you should do a guitar collection video
I may do that at some point. Not a huge collector to be honest. Spent my early years touring so much and never had a penny to spend on stuff. I’m still building. I honestly believe I still haven’t found the one; my favourite guitar yet. 🔥
@@SpedSpedding thanks man would really appreciate it
BTW love you videos
Hi, I accidentally found your youtube channel. Interesting video nice to watch (especially you-together). I like the music, theme and atmosphere. From one video I learned about interesting knobs for les paul from Poland. I searched quite a lot on the net and found my model, but they were quite far away and very expensive, the original ones from 1977, the guitar is from the same year.
Best regards
The best ✨
Thank you!
Great lesson. You girlfriend plays really well.
She’s the best! Thank you. ❤️
Great video Sped, you guys are lovely. Can you please teach White summer/Black mountainside at some point ?
Great suggestion! Yeah never say never. Planning a lot for this year and trying to keep a balance between songs and original stuff!
Good first lesson, not an easy tune to nail while learning to pick the strings, keep going we've all been there.
Yeah, it is a tricky one for sure. I reckon Gab will nail it though. Caught her practicing later last night, already better. 🤩
@@SpedSpedding Ah she's got the bug, a tip, practice playing arpeggios with just the open strings, EAD with the thumb and index middle and ring finger on the trebles for 15 minutes a day, it will help with her finger picking. I played classical guitar for many years, just a thought.
- Babe, I want to teach you a song.
- Which one?
- "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You".
It was originally Whole Lotta Love but after that scratch on the neck I changed my mind. 😂
@@SpedSpedding BTW have you thought about making a tutorial on "Love Spreads" by The Stone Roses? This song is awesome, and you are from Manchester, right?
@@nexusi6867 yeah I was in Manchester last night watching that Candlelite string quartet playing rock classics. Ancoats area is insanely nice now! 🤯🤯🤯
@@SpedSpedding so what about that tutorial then?) I read John Squire had listened to a lot of LZ stuff while recording the second album.
Okay wait... what song is that at 4:16?
Sounded smooth 🤌🏾💯
That’s a song I always teach called Nostalgia by Emily Barker.
👍👍👍 what was the name of that tuner
PolyTune Clip! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Good One Sped , I'm always learning . Jimi Hendrix used to bar with his thumb . Gabriella is a fast learner , singing & playing at the same time is tough .
Yeah I elaborated on that in the middle and played a bit of Purple Haze showing her but I cut it down to save time. Thanks Mike!
@@SpedSpedding That's awesome , Hendrix still Rocks . You are both so relaxed and Jimmy Page also Rocks . Peace .
More videos like this; fantastic for beginners!
Thank you! Glad you think that, that was the goal. Remind beginners just what it takes to get things. 🙌🏻✨
@@SpedSpedding I’ll definitely be trying this!
hey youngster can you play just the chorus part when your pretty girlfriend is singing please or just what are the cords please been playing that song for 40 years i just notice i have been play the chorus part incorrect all that time thank you
Love your lessons. I’m an intermediate player and can play some songs note for note, however when I try to capture my progress by recording on my IPhone I end up making mistakes. Frustrating…great job Gab btw!
Thoughts on using all 4 fingers and thumb to pick instead of string skipping with the thumb? Bad habit? Viable?
Ouh, I’ve never used the pinky at all for finger picking. But that’s just me. I’d say MOST of the time it’s not used but you could definitely train it up to be useful. You do you! 🙌🏻
so nice you both get your hair colored at the same time at the same salon.
They're both me? That's the joke. It's a split camera job.
She’s doing very well.
She really is! Excited for her.
I look forward to one day Sped playing rhythm and Gab improvising lead
We were talking about this ourselves; exactly the same. Can't wait. I might do a video where I teach her he first solo. She's got some basic scales down now.
