As someone who's owned a Fox Body for 20 years, the most important upgrade on this car is obvious. The cup holder.
Jam it between the pass seat and parking brake,or slip it in between the console and pass seat at the hinge. Cupholders are for Pussies. Fox owner since '94.
satanerta u fuck yeah only pussies use cupholder especially when you have a drink you cant close and spill it everywhere, that is fucking badass
Any 80s car, iroc or mustang swap center console that has a cup holder into your car
Damn
My grandpa used to set his coffee ☕ on the dash, that shit would slide everywhere but never spill
I still don't know how tf he did it
I tried that shit in my truck and my cup immediately flew out the passenger window goin like 4mph around a turn
Damn he didn’t even try to sell a watch. Impressive.
LOVE THAT THING! Foxbody Coupes/notches are so much sexier than the hatches imo. unfortunately i feel the same about the s13
The Hoonigans should invite More Skids out!
More Skids love vids
Trade ya
looser than a gooser's pooser
Is this foreshadowing something...
Strictly, neatly, beautifully. Without pathos and nonsense. The best fox body I've ever seen.
I can’t believe the jealousy and hate towards Matt. He’s a dam legend and a great guy. Awesome personality
Drifty325i I know what your saying
How is he a legend?
^^^said no one ever
The fact that you cant spell personality right doesn't make make think your a very good judge of it. Matt is a horrible person with an ego twice the size of his bald head.
Agreed. I always thought he seemed like a douchebag....
this car represents what alot of people fail to get these days about building cars.
tloh wym
Leo Cueto we’ll sorted internally and externally not just in one aspect such as power or aesthetics
this car represents what even modern day automotive manufacturers miss too lol
Agree
"This car represents what alot of people fail to get these days about building cars" You mean paying tons of money to other people to build your car, the one that you've supposedly wanted ever since you sold your original Mustang after high school, only to sell this "dream/passion car" a year later? Not to mention after he paid tons of money for other people to build it, it didn't run right for like 6 months of the year/year and a half he owned it. This is a guy who sold his Delorean, a car he waited forever for the upgrades from the factory to be finished, only to sell it shortly after to buy a shitty Focus RS (which he then sold too), and now hopped on this stupid "safari scene" and ruined a perfectly clean 911 to be a part of.
I love the way that interior fabric contrasts with the clean exterior.
Foxbodies will never go outta style
They were never in style.
Cooter McKenna u must love Hondas
Cali Kev I like them... wouldn’t say love. Never owned one. ;)
@@EatChipsNow one of the most popular cars to mod in the world and Ford sold millions of them......
Cooter McKenna hey buddy did you just blow in from stupid town?
We need more people who love to throw mustang around turns instead of drag racing
I'm on it
sad how he has to defend that it is not a drag racing car
Tis what i'm doing with my Mach 1. I love to take corners.

So DOPE! Thanks for using my beat!!
Just subbed to you!
HomageBeats nah.. that beat is dope, bro. thank YOU.
HomageBeats thought that was the pussy cat dolls beat
HomageBeats Drank a Mickeys to that shit I was doing rapping movements and shhhhhh..
HomageBeats logic - midnight beat, lol
The Foxbody will always hold a special place in my heart. What a dope build
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's and he ordered three T66 turbos with NOS... and a Motec system exhaust.
+Gromzen haha
Fuck hahaha
😂😂
Lmao hella random
Hector ain't cutting them loose tonight , He's going legit ..... NHRA circuit 😂
That schnook never drives me anymore.
Congratulations
Matt literally built my dream car.... to the letter.
Adam DaTerra same here, any guess how much the whole setup cost?
really?
Dream bigger. At least A/c
@@AirsoftViperSlovenia is also be interested it what it cost to build something like that. If you’re not doing it yourself I’d figure around it’d be around 40k, realistically. And unfortunately lol 10yrs ago I could get someone to build me that for 20-25k and do it myself for 15-20k but nowadays, I dunno.
As a long time 5.0 owner...I love what you did with this car Matt. I'm happy I reached out and told you to look at Maximum Motorsports.
What 5.0 do you have?
Ezra Collier hello fellow Ezra
Do you Kno what exhaust he's running?
Wish my name was Ezra. I feel left out
Justin Haas I know that sound from a mile away. Those are flowmaster 40s and an H pipe.
I've loved notchbacks since high school when I realised I was into cars. Something beautiful about how simple they are.
I've also always had the love for the notch backs, this is precisely the kind of car I'd want to build. I love the wide stance, the bolt-on flares, the engine sound is bang-on, you can tell it's notch back built by a notch back lover because everything that's 'notch-backy' about it has been accentuated properly, with nothing extraneous or unnecessary added. It's like he opened the settings and just increased the 'notchback' filter from around 50 to 100.
Man, feels good to come back to these old episodes and hear that intro again!
I had the good fortune to get an 89 LX5.0 coupe/notchback in black new in 89. I still have it today and could never part with it. Too much raw fun to this day. Awesome car.
Currently have an all stock 89 notch that my mom bought new and gave it to me for my first car. Currently 18 and going to college so I can’t dump money into it like I want to.
I love how it's just a regular dude not trying to be the biggest or baddest but just building his dream car how he likes it. Also where's my San Diego gang at 💪🏼
Lol not a regular dude
Is that Matt Farrah’s million mile Lexus?
yes.
This is not Matt Farrah's million mile lexus
ringa dinga dinga
No, it's the Vagabond Falcon.
its Matt Farrah's million mile vagabond twerk matter pikachu stallion.
Matt Farah, you're the shit! Love your daily show, watch it everyday just like I watch the Hoonigan's everyday.
bobby robinette yeah bloody oth mate I do the same 👍
I'm glad he did not LS swap it
94BULLITT yet
Josiah Snyder He doesn't like stuff breaking, he probably won't ever.
ÜLoff Bülgoraff in that case he got the wrong car
He's been talking Voodoo every so often on the Podcast.
Tray Muse I bet his car is fuckin reliable as hell dude lol
I love that notchback. Very nicely done. Sounds amazing just like you'd expect from a foxbody. Love the fact that it's not another drag car.
Great example of a square wheel setup on a foxy body.. turn in so good!
Whoah a foxbody that turns
Exactly
They've always been able to turn lmfaoo
It would be funny if you were a GTR guy
you obviously never heard of steeda or anything mustang
Mr Free1 • 18 years ago yeah the tubular k member, IRS, custom built chassis fox body is practically stock. Nice brain power there chief
Flowmaster 40 series exhaust? Healthy sounding 302. Love them fox body's
I can’t describe just how much I love this car. The fender flares, the fact that it’s a coupe. The fact that it’s still rocking the 302 HO. The irs conversion. The Saleen front fascia. If it was the last car I owned for the rest of my life that would be fine. Other cars are faster, sure, but name ne s car that has as much character and attitude. You could walk this thing on the highway, but everyone would slow back down just to watch it roll.
See cars like this is what i miss from hoonigan so unique and cool
Been a long time smoking tire fan, and have also been watching this channel for a long time. So awesome for me to see 2 of my favourite channels in 1 vid. Foxbody 4 Life!
I did not fucking expect this... but I'm happy as shit rn 🙂
Username It’s pronounced “Happy as shitcar rn.”
When they get Finnegan or Matt from Demolition Ranch then my youtube life will be complete
Joe Rogan should come by. he's a car guy.
He was on Leno's garage and he doesnt really know much about his cars as far as all the little details but I'd love see see him come out and shred some tires
Pfff... he’s a guy with money who tells another guy to build a car that looks nice and that’s the extent of his car guy-ness
Lmao
@@mattg3537 listening to his podcast for years. I'd beg to differ sir. He doesnt know everything about cars, but he has does have a wealth of knowledge to alot of different aspects of cars especially when it comes to porsches.
So does Google
I watch this video once a year. Reminds me of my dads fox body. Bring Matt to the new shop!!!
So sad that we almost never see these on the road anymore. Such a rad car 🤘
Not Overdone Sounds Great
It’s not called a map light, it’s called a bowl packing light!
Michael Urban fuck yeah
You win the comment section.
In Matt's case this is a 100% accurate statement.
Michael Urban down here in oz it's called a cone packing light. Haha
It’s a dope scope.
14:44 Dude starts his car.
thank you
Having turned 16 in 1995 and owing a couple of them when I was a kid, it’s hard not to have a soft spot for the fox mustangs still today. Those were always my favorite sounding motors.
I love the music they play when showing the cars. It's so soothing
Who else watched waiting for Hert to come out eventually
Marxs042 me
Yeah he seems like a pudding pusher
Hey, don't judge. A man needs time to come to terms with his sexuality.
We have all been playing the waiting game
Makes me want to build a Fox body. I used to have an 89, when I was 19 years old...Good times...
"...and cut" - burnout into the distance... that is nice.
Those Fox body mustangs have a special place in my heart
My dad was an undercover cop and had a really nice Mustang GT in Midnight Blue back in the early 90's. I wish I could get my hands on that car now.
This is the longest Matt F has spoken for without trying to sell underpants.
Or watches
These comments always make me laugh. If you want to pay to watch TH-cam that's up to you. I'd rather listen/watch a few adverts about watches/underwear and watch for free
Up Next... One Take in the Twerk Stallion!
Albert Ayars that would lit.
Albert Ayars that would be amazing
Everybody like this comment so it can happen😭😭
Yas
Albert Ayars oh fuck yes
Wow, so weird seeing Matt and him not telling me about Chassis Ball And Taint Protector
Dom Altieri or tightwad underwear to make you an extra douche
I remember having a 347 built for my 90GT back in the 00's when muscle cars were discontinued and you rarely saw any factory cars over 300hp but now it's so insane with the factory 800hp 20mpg monsters out there!
I love this kind of build. Everyone is always about max power nowadays (or pure nostalgia im looking at you bone stock ae86 owners) so its nice to see a build thats a good bit of speed, handles well and looks good all at once. I bet anyone with a bit of experience driving stick could hop in this and get used to it quickly and have an absolute blast running through the gears. Would love to see more people go for this type of vibe
why isn't Matt selling ball powder or watches?
Brent MacDonald I know right. Was waiting on the sales pitch.
There’s no better sound than a fox body 5.0😍 even stock with flowmasters it sounds better than most 500hp ls.
That sound...wow(and I’m subbed to him and seen the car before😂)
It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast then a fast car slow. Beautiful my dream car friend had a hunter green one in highschook
Farahs Foxbody is what got me to subscribe to his channel then it was all one takes while I waited for another foxbody vid.
Honestly like the hatchback more than the notchback. Whatever floats your boat, though. Best thing about the modern car community!
i LIKE THE HATCHBACK BETTER TOO. jUST TAKE THAT STUPID SPOILER OFF THE BACK AND IT LOOKS CLEAN.
I can't sleep thank you.
Same haha
Matt has the exact same mentality about building/owning/enjoying a car as me and I'm so happy about it.
Sounds just like my old 88 fox body lx! Such an iconic sound!
Man that Fox body sounds so good did they say what exhaust it had??
THATS A WRRRRAAAPPPP!!! If it ain't broke don't fix it!
302 Fords have a unique sound, so unless you have one, it wont sound the same. The mufflers are 2 chamber Flowmasters
Mekhanic1 back in the day all the Chevy guys would come in and say to the muffler shops can you please make my car sound like that 5.0 fox??? And they could never ever duplicate that sound. It’s like Subaru’s flat4 rumble, the Ford 302 just has that dope clean sound.
Have a 86 302 in my 1968 Stang and it really does have a beastly sound, almost metallic sounding at idle. I have super 44s on mine.
Machine Gun Funk flat 4 rumble sound comes from the headers though
Flowmasters do NOT sound anything CLOSE to that?! Seems to be a cherry bombed straight pipe..and if those are flow masters? He would have gotten the same just straight piping it with some bombs.
Foxbody goalssss
It's nice to hear a genuine enthusiast who really enjoys what he does ..
I always wanted a notchback since I was in elementary school and being born in '89 I felt that it was meant for me. Matt has the perfect notchback for me, I kind of dislike that he has built it exactly as I would and before me making me a biter, but I would still buy one and make it circuit ready like this one. Props to Matt and sticking to what he likes and working to make it just that!
kinda surprised he didnt try to sell his sunglasses for 4 minutes before the episode started...
Car is sick as fuck, but my '84 Tempo had the exact same map light.
Homebrew Subaru Welcome to Ford. The new GT has the same headlight switch as the Fiesta.
My 87 TBird has the same map light as an 80's F150... Certainly does not drive like one though..
I had an 84 tempo w/ giant import muffler. I was young...
Brad Thomas That’s funny, I would have done the same at the time but my father would have taken the keys haha
THAT LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE A GOOD TWD RALLY CAR, OR HILL CLIMB CAR, THE ENGINE WOULD NEED CHANGING WITH A COUPLE OF TURBOS, BUT THE SIZE IS OF
THE VEHICLE LOOKS GOOD..... HAS FULL INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION..... WHAT IS A CANYON CAR.....? LOVE THE ENGINE SOUND!!
I've grown to really like Matt over the years. I thought he was a real meathead back in the Garage419 days, but he's really become a great presenter and genuine dude. Respect.
Taste. It's what it takes to build a car like that. It's a well rounded machine. Sensibility and modesty with what's been done to it.
Every once and a while I come back just to listen to the car.
This is the first time I've ever liked the way a Fox Body looks. What's happening to me?
You got finally got some taste in cars lol
Awwwwe, you grew up.
With age comes wisdom
You're growing up and acquiring taste.
Foxbodies aren't bad looking cars, I don't understand the hate they get.
Nice one Matt, love the ethos for this car: Just works and fun as hell! Something I think a lot of modern sports cars are loosing is the got all you need and not too much more factor.
Dope ass car. This collab was glorious.
That Sound!!! gives me goose bumps.
This show is the best naturally. The only thing better is the choices of music!!!
Hertz fc helps me keep building my 1uz fc even through out all the bull shit! thanks for making sick episodes! I enjoy your daily videos!
You'll get it done! Good luck haha
Reanu Keeves I'm running a mega squirt ms3 version 1. if you type in 1uzfe rx7 my fc in the red one with the black hood. I'll be uploading and making videos once I get a proper idal. kinda thinking of going back to stock ecu

The Notch back F-body 5.0s is an AMAZING platform! Matt's Build-purpose and execution are spot on. I'd rather have an overall BALANCED and RELIABLE build, emphasis on cornering, road-carving, and braking. High HP are great... On paper. Big Numbers don't mean sh#t IF you can't put down and consistently keep power to the ground. GREAT Build Matt!!!👍
I always loved how mustangs sound
I loved this guy in pineapple express
I've always wondered what a protest servant does
Sooo clean 😍😍
Correction I've know Farah since he was on the drive channel lol he's a cool ass chill dude! 🤘🔥
Do you know why so many people hate him? every video I watch where he's a guest it's mostly positive but there's a notable amount of people saying he's a douchbag or he doesn'lt know shit. It's more than the usual baseline internet hate which is why I ask.
@@bearrett50kal17 honestly have no idea man anytime I've seen Farah he always seems so chill and pretty knowledgeable about stuff so who knows.
Just the right amount of hot rodding! Not over the top and the sound is spot on!
For some reason that is the best mustang I’ve ever seen
Love this car, like a XF Falcon coupe. Kiwis would love these!
Shaun Andrews fuck yeah we do
A Trick Flow top end on that engine would work really well.
christopher wynn yes
My brother did that to his 89 GT. Couple years ago he went single turbo and about 450 whp. Thing rips.
And,I was thinking when he said "new motor" no,put a supercharger where that ac compressor used to be!!!!!!!!!
"Collecting random stuff"
Is the definition of DT
I’m like Matt where there is something to be said for a car that just works kind of deal you only know if you mid cars if it just works it’s so golden
Matt, I dig it. I bought a Saleen Fox bodied Mustang in 1987 and spent a ton of cash working it's HP and performance up. I spend $3500 on the aluminum heads! With all the money spent I probably never exceeded 300 HP. Regardless, it was way fun and I had a ball with it. I understand what your passion is for this car. I get it! ;)
But wheres the retractable front lip?

Is this Matt Farah's million mile Lexus??
this is not matt farahs million mile lexus, his is a 96 lexus
I've always wondered how he sees through the those sunglasses
Polerized
I have a pair of those Dillon Optics and they are great, actually a lot of light and the matte glasses look nice.
Scout Master DongBag They're just polarized sunglasses by Dillon Optics, so they work like most polarized sunglasses; but better.
He doesn't. You don't notice, but he's constantly taking for a reason; he uses echo location.
Daniel Harper glad someone can play along with the joke
Just noticed the EWOK piece on the container behind the stang.. one of my fave artists!
I literally dont care what anyone says but the foxbody is just a gorgeous generation of the mustang 😍😍
Agreed. But I can't quite figure out why. It's not a particularly attractive body style, but for some reason I just love it more than most. I think cuz it's so small and clean instead of bloated and heavy, and the lines are sharp and creased vs rounded and aerodynamic. Plus, black just makes those lines look exponentially better.
I'd happily own this, would be sick with the Barra straight 6 turbo ford motors that are in the Australian made Xr6
Didnt see this one coming
And Cut, exit stage left.
I like everything about this car personally... almost entirely blacked out cept that touch of color on the doors. The sound, beautiful. Wide body/wheels looks so much better
I have never been a Ford guy but goddamn I have always loved the Fox Body Mustangs. Especially the notchbacks. They are iconic and have an almost timeless body to them. Not as timeless as the 240SX but they really did it right woth the fox body...except for that super light tailspin prone rear end.
if the throttle body whistles then it's a 302r, and if it whistles, then you have problems lol
We call that light the "Dope Scope" for rolling joints in the dark while drinking beers and shifting gears! Long live Generation X!
