Hats off to "Mr. Wrench Every Day". I'm now 78 and drove a Miura in my younger days. Didn't own it but did drive it. People can't imagine just how "cool" that car was way back then. The only suggestion I would have is if you wind up getting this car...and restoring it...drive it and enjoy it. The time between 30 and 78 goes JUST LIKE THAT! When you look back, you want to remember the things you did and not the things you didn't do. Enjoy your passion and if your passion is CARS, enjoy them. Cars are made to be driven and enjoyed. That's what it's all about.
Amen sir, you are absolutely right. Enjoy the day because before you know, it's your last. Sometimes we have to stop and look around once in a while and take it in
You have to love Jay's FIRST question....he doesn't hesitate, and asks what every classic guy asks... 'Was it outside or inside' like he was buying a 1964 1/2 Mustang......YES.... you MUST get this car

Pretty inspiring, Tavarish came from wrenching in a driveway to being friends with someone who despite being a comfortably retired celebrity Jay will cameo in Freddie’s episode simply because they both love cars, says a lot about both of those guys.

A jaw dropping collection. I am just in awe, as someone that has loved Miuras, you have no idea how happy it makes me to see that someone went out and bought the crashed ones and locked them away, safe from a crusher.

I love him looking at the blue Miura that needs a front clip, and mentioning that they're not available anywhere. When there's a front clip from a blue Miura sitting in the back of a transporter right outside..
@@tavarish I assume you mean the underpinnings are different and not just two different VIN's. Regardless, I'd love to see you end up with one of the Miuras!
A good friend of mine had a Muira with a Holman-Moody NASCAR engine in it. He bought it in 1978 from an exotic car dealership in Newport Beach, CA for $5,500. The prior owner was a dentist who blew up the original engine and made the decision to replace the engine with the Holman-Moody engine. Whenever my friend started up the car it sounded like shotguns going off. He used to take it to the Lamborghini meet-ups at Pebble Beach on a regular basis. One interesting thing is that in the early 2000's he was at an exotic car meet up in LA and Jay Leno walked up to him, looked at the car number, and told him that he (Jay) had the original engine (Jay had bought it as part of some deal). Jay offered to sell the engine to him any time he wanted it. My friend eventually sold his Muira sometime around 2007/2008 to a gentleman from Sweden. I do know he got enough for the car that he paid off his house and bought a new Audi R8. Whether the Swedish gentleman bought the engine from Jay is something I don't know, but is maybe something Jay can confirm to Freddy.
Out of all the big collections out there, I've always thought Jay has the best. You can tell he's a real car nut and he has the best of the best. He drives them all and knows the history on every single car he owns
I honestly wish you were the one to become the owner of that Miura. It would be incredible to see how it is put together and saved instead of it being stashed away forever by a collector.

He restored the actual Ferrari GT Pininfarina owned by Ferrucio Lamborghini that they fitted the tractor clutch to that started the whole Ferrari/lambo disagreement which lead to him making cars in the first place. And I die a lil more inside.
YES!!! This car belongs with you. You my friend are like a World Heritage site for rare cars. You allow the world to share the passion, joy, beauty, and journey of these cars. You make available for all of us to share these cars, even if its virtually. If this car goes anywhere else, we the public will lose it forever. They should GIVE you the car as part of a co-marketing effort to promote their contribution to the world of rare cars and, like Valvoline for the P1, receive global publicity (yes, we all know who they are), but working with you is great PR.
What an absolute gold mine of automobile history! I could spend HOURS there just picking around. Oh man Freddy, living vicariously through you brother!
Ever since I saw the Miura on Top Gear (or was it Wheeler Dealers?) for the first time, I fell in love with it. This car is art on wheels. If you manage to bid for one of these and get it, of course we'd like to see the restoration project. Who wouldn't?

I hope Rod Emory has his sights locked onto a good chunk of those 356's. To think most, if not all of those could be near new condition again through his incredible talent and dedication to restoring those iconic cars. Can't wait to see the auction results!
If you go to 32:15, you will see Mr. Tavarish begin to pull up on Jay's Miura Bonnet by one of the slats. The slats are made by forming thin aluminum sheet around a balsa core. I only wish I could have seen Jay's expression at that moment! Never let someone else handle your Miura...
This build could skyrocket on your channel, no doubt about it, however consider your finances and cars you'll need to let go and what not before falling head over head for that Miura. that being said best wishes to you in your bidding efforts

When he goes full mechanic and says stuff like engines being mounted Transverse instead of sideways, shit just makes me smile so hard, not many people use that terminology, even mechanics, when i say it to people they're all like "wtf do you mean transverse?" And I die a lil more inside.
I really enjoy listening to Tavarish as well as Jay. Both so down to earth and their passion and excitement and ability to tell a story is enjoyable.
It makes me happy to see Jay helping you, when it comes to cars, Jay is the Guru people should listen to.
Psshhh. Jay Lenno is a goon.
Team Coco 4 life.
Ratarossa with a F40. Tavarish with a Miura. Quality content coming up. Imagine the roadtrip videos.
Who wouldn't?
i loved this video, itnot only showed the passion of tavarish, but it also showed us how much he grew, he started as just some dude who fixed a gallardo ( still impressive) and now he restoring (or wants to restore) legendary cars and even gets to call a legend a friend, tavarish keep it up every bit of succes you have is earned.
I hope Rod Emory has his sights locked onto a good chunk of those 356's. To think most, if not all of those could be near new condition again through his incredible talent and dedication to restoring those iconic cars. Can't wait to see the auction results!
why only rod emory?
@@Phili89pp lol weird question. Why don't you list all of the other capable shops for us then.
“My friend lives close” 😂. Massive flex. Jay is a freaking automotive icon. You sir have made it!
I know its been said a million times, but listening to Jay talk about cars is truly amazing
The fact that Tavarish is throwing jokes at Jay Leno is pretty cool!!! Leno is someone I'd love to call a friend...
Straight up saw the title and said no effing way. So jealous. This would be mind blowing, just watched the Lamborghini movie too
Hell yes this would be the ultimate TH-cam build!!! And Jay Leno popping up ultimate flex. Insane upload!!
Jay Leno car collection is out of this world 😮
Jay Leno is a Living LEGEND, it's such a treat to have him on your channel hanging out, talking cars, the Boys 🙌
I remember hearing about this guy. He owned a lot of sought-after cars. Porsche parts/cars, the guy is a legend.
Cooler than any car you've ever had, and you've had some Bangers.
Get it, man. Make the car fit you if you have to.
I love how much knowledge Jay has, it’s like talking to a walking encyclopedia of car knowledge.
One of the most beautiful supercars of all time .
This build could skyrocket on your channel, no doubt about it, however consider your finances and cars you'll need to let go and what not before falling head over head for that Miura. that being said best wishes to you in your bidding efforts
Saw this on Magnus Walker’s channel. Epic!
Is there link pls
Yes me too, Watched it last night.. Amazing show
Yes "The guy in my Nana's Hat"
@@Michael666CA you only wish you could pull it off without people calling you out.
@@ryurc3033 Facts
This is the absolute definition of "Car porn". The Porsche collector Magnus Walker beat you to the punch, and posted a video of himself walking around here a few days ago. Very cool. I'd love to see the results of all the car guys restoring lots of this stuff. Thank you.
I like how Jay casually has a ~20 million dollar F1 just chilling there 32:40
Well it’s not just chilling lol…..look where it’s parked 😂😂😂
I cant se no f1 in here
There is NO other supercar of any era I'd rather have. I had a die-cast Muira in the 60's and fell in love with it then
You wouldn't think there would be even ONE unrestored Miura left in the world, let alone three in the same garage.
That’s the shocking part lol just the feeling of find one would be like uncovering a gem forgotten by time.
But 3 side by side lol like whats next, the ark of the covenant in there too? Lol.
The orange Miura in Leno's Garage is sooo beautiful!! Always nice to see the GOAT of night-time television, and the living encyclopedia of cars!!
With all of the classic Lamborghinis I’m surprised John Temerian hasn’t made a video yet! I feel like he’d be one of the first! What a place!
He’s gonna be bidding hard on this one for sure
He’s going to bid big I bet on these. His group will dig deep I bet.
As someone growing up with the most knowledge of 90s-current cars, I learned quite a bit from your videos out to this junkyard. You and Scott are a wealth of knowledge.
Jay is an icon. He will be greatly missed when he eventually passes. Great vid, Tavarish! As usual.
That Mercedes 300SL is one of my dream cars. Crazy I remember going past that yard in my Datsun 240z in 1987.
I bet you could have bought those Miuras for cheap if you had just stopped in while it was 1987 lol
yeah but the one in the video ain't worth a million.
240z ❤
Go for the red one. You have motors, retro mod an old Lambo. Break the mold again.
PEE WEE ! It’s a S chassis as well.
Whichever one has the cleanest frame is what to consider imo
Let me tell you the truth. been a longtime fan. This has been my favorite video ever. Absolutely enjoyed every second of this as a 57 year old man who has this same passion, but the pocket is a bit light. Lol.I'll be honest. Been a fan for years. This has been my favorite video ever. Absolutely enjoyed every second of this as a 57 year old man who has this same passion, but the pocket is a bit light. Lol.
Lord, I see you finding cool cars for youtubers in barns all the time. Can I have one please?
idk why but Jay making a Ozempic joke is too funny😂
Jay Leno knowns so much about all his cars its unbelievable! Wish him all the best!!!
20 million plus F1 casually in the background 😂 Jay just petrol head godfather 👌 😎
That is not A JUNK YARD…..it is THE JUNKYARD OF ALL JUNK YARDS.
Like to see Tavarish do a series by walking round Jays place and going through all his car collection. Love listening to the guy.
Ending the episode with Leno was baller.
I got bored with your recent projects, but this is definitely one I will follow.
Same.
I mean I also got bored. He started with affordable cars now he is rebuilding 3 million dollar McLarens. Like way out of reach for most people.
@@Dovecar388 This is out of reach as well (if he can get it at all), but at least he will probably use similar methods what I would use on a 60s Corvette, which I can get dirt cheap.
I cried when you said it was 7 years ago, time flies and i get older now, even tho im not rebuilding a car, but just a 150 scooter bike, it just hit me when you said that,7 years ago i watch your video and decided to do my own project, but now i want to make something similar like what you have done, i want to make a channel and a journey but on a scooter, you and robdahm, are my inspiration , hope you always well and happy, thanks :), sorry for my bad English
2:42 the npc when you press "e" on them but you are too far
Jay Leno what a legend ❤
This was by far one of your best videos. Then, at the end with Jay was perfect.
Jay Leno is like the Yoda at the automobile world ‼️💯
How have I been watching you for 8 years now that is crazy.
