People who say you might as well get a car miss the point. This is a motorcycle in the truest sense of the word and is nothing like a car. I’ve just toured the Black Forest and the Alps, two up, fully loaded on my 2022 DCT Tour and the bike was a blast. This bike handles brilliantly whether it’s the sweeping bends on the B500 or the multiple hairpins in the Alps. It is totally planted and confidence inspiring in any situation and with the massive amounts of torque it never feels like it’s struggling. We had a 14 hour day coming home via the channel tunnel and it kept rider and pillion dry and comfortable in all weathers. Motobob you will have a blast I’m sure!

I bought my 2018 GoldenWing DCT non-tour on June 5th, 2018. I have logged 134,500 plus miles without any serious mechanical problems. At 98,000 miles I switched out front and rear suspension and went with Traxxion. This bike is brilliant. It’s as smooth as ever! Ride safe…

Totally agree here. I own 2020 DCT Tour. This machine is magical. if anyone is buying one, you MUST, replace the windscreen (F4 or 7Jurock), add backrest (Utopia) and HWY Pegs (Goldstrike). Once you do that, you will not want to come off of her. I love every minute riding this beast. Next, center stand, if you don't have one. Great to have it for maint. and rear wheel removal which is easy job. Honda knows bikes and Honda rocks with this DCT system. Very smart for them to give that option. I will never ever go back to shifting. Don't want to, don't miss it.

Thanks for the review mate! Seriously love your analysis and have used your videos on multiple occasions to help me narrow things down. I bought the 2023 Gold Wing Bagger in a manual and have fallen deeply in love with this motorcycle. I seriously can't ride it enough :) After the purchase, I added an Ultimate Seat with a driver backrest, a 20" Klock Werks tinted windshield (I'm 6-2"), and while I like the riding position, a set of highway pegs for those extra long rides and having another comfy option to move to. Thx again, all the best in 2024 !

I realize no one knows, but what changes would you think are reasonable waiting for a 24 model ? I would like to see blue and / or white make a come back and an upgrade to the infotainment technology. Very hard to find bagger models in my area. I really don’t need the top box and thr bike looks Great without it.

Exactly the same for me. There are some improvements to make, but Honda don't react, especially the dashboard, software, connectivity with smartphone, moderate GPS and so on. There lies the opportunity for improvements, IMO. @@randyshoop3214

I stepped up from my Hoda VTX 1880c Crusier, Which I loved (my wife not so much) to a 2023 DCT Tourer. Coming from the VTX, the Goldwing feels more like sportsbike. Simply cannot get over how much torque it has, I run in Tourer mode 99& of the time. Sports mode is not for me, but it is fun. Another thing that just blew me away (NOT) is the windshield. It blocks so much wind buffering, that it is actually pleasurable to ride. The speakers are amazing, I can listen to just about anything and hear every note. Love the antilock brakes. Truthfully, this bike is lacking nothing.

In '97 I was able to buy a '89 GL1500SE from my neighbor who didn't have the proper safe for the motorbike, so I was able to buy it for halve of it's market value. I'd love that bike (it even had a cassette player) and kept it until 2006 when I had to sell it because I needed a daily car as I was no longer living in Rotterdam. A few years later I migrated to the US, but I still miss my Goldwing. However I find this version to smooth. A Goldwing should be bulky, basically the hummer under the motorbikes ;-)

I really looked at buying one. Honda makes great machines. I loved the power. The balance is amazing. It is so smooth. My two biggest problems is (for me) the seat height. Unfortunately I am short. Five foot five. I wanted a manual not a dct. Say what you want I like what I like. Every time I would look at a bike I would always compare it to the wing . I ended up buying a Kawasaki Voyager.

    • @WingStuffcom
      @WingStuffcom 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I don't blame you for wanting a manual. I personally decided on a DCT but I almost got the manual version instead. I'm taller than you but not by much and I found swapping out the stock Honda seat for the Corbin seat set me back a bit and I feel it gives me a better center of gravity as well as sets me a little lower so overall it's easier to manage the weight of the bike. How are you liking the Voyager?

@@WingStuffcom I really like the voyager. I had Ivan do the ECU and it has a lot more power. For the money you can’t beat it. I also have been working on slow speed maneuvering. I have got it down to scraping the floorboards. I found out 900 pounds could be unforgiving in a quick minute. Overall I am very pleased with the Voyager. I do have some videos on TH-cam about it. Thanks for the advice.

Five questions: 1) What is the frequency and cost of minor/major maintenance? 2) Given weight and power, what’s life expectancy of tires? 3) What grade of fuel? 4) Are 1-2-3 DCT shifts as “barely noticeable” as 4-5-6 shifts? 5) Will that huge seat make my ass look smaller?

I love the bike but I don’t get why it costs as much as a well equipped Civic…🤷🏻‍♂️
Do you get four wheels? Windows? Roof? AC? Seating for 5? Can you ride in snow?

      Then buy a Civic. 🤷

Why are all the bike vloggers given bikes with those hideous large screens? The smaller, original screen is much more in keeping with the overall looks, and is really effective as I've discovered on my 120mile commute.

If you think the GW is good, try the K1600GTL. That 6 has more power and is incredible.

Once again, the best youtuber on bikes! Brilliante filming. But why and i say again why do they put rpm meters on this kind of bike ? Or any bike? If you ride an R bike and give it " your full hand" you don't have the time to look at the rpm.. No get rid of it and put something smart there insted . Keep going Bob👍🏻

Just went and looked at, sat on, a GW, 2023, for the first time as I’m looking to ‘move up’ from my Versys 1000 for longer, multi day, touring.
My heart sank when I got on it. 6’1”, 34” inseam.
The bars are soooo low and forward compared to the seating position. Have long arms and was still a stretch.
Probably won’t stop me from buying but not too happy about having to spend, immediately, $800 for aftermarket bars to ‘fix’ the issue.

I tried to get a test ride last year, only to be told no bikes available and a wait until at least March this year. I'd still like to test ride one, but went and bought a BMW as they had test fleet available and supplied my new bike, to my spec, in 3 weeks.

The older I get, the more sense a bike like this makes.

Hmm, that is a big heavy bike. Wish Honda would make a scaled down version say 800cc for single folk who don't want to carry a pillion. Something like old CX500 Silverwing of 1980s in full touring set up like a BMKK75RT of early 1990s.

An automatic motorcycle is like an automatic semi truck, takes all the skill and fun out of it. Anyone can drive or ride an automatic. I'll stick with shifting gears myself.

Why don’t screens cover the handlebars? My Piaggio Sfera had a lovely tall, wide screen that covered the ends of the bars.

What was the rpm at around 100 km. didn't catch it anywhere in your video. The last gen screamed from a 5 speed that was geared to low.

The fact this motorcycle outright has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto surprises me, those two is usually reserved for cars but Honda outright made them available on the Goldwing like holy shit, that's outright awesome

The GW is the best Tourer IMO but once you get to "compact" SUV pricing I just lose all interest. (as in Toyota Rav 4)
