  • I'm getting ready to install a 4.5/6 McGaughy's Suspension lowering kit on my truck that I bought from Summit Racing and the first thing I'm doing is replacing the leaf spring bushings. It's a crappy job but needs to be done! Thanks for watching!

Heat the outside of the leaf spring eye for 2-3 mins until the rubber starts to bubble out the top. Then hammer it out with a socket the same size as the inners sleeve. I just did mine. The smaller bushing popped out with one hit…the larger one took a few hits.

If you just drive big flat blade screw driver into the gap on the spring it'll take off enough pressure so you can just punch the bushing out with a big socket.

I’ll keep that in mind next time I have to do this. Thanks man! ✌️

I actually just use a sawzall and run the blade into that gap then turn the saw and cut through the old bushing. I think I might have a video of it, but I can’t remember.

Just wondering how those bushings held up.

I ordered a bushing kit from prothane and all 6 bushings were the same size. I ended up using a shackle off my parts truck because I already removed one bushing. 😒

Hey. I loved the video so much! I have been trying to look for a TH-cam vid like yours that breaks down the ideas in this TH-cam video. 🩺Your content totally is like the videos from Doctor Ethan! Ethan's tips are educational and I really learned a lot for my school. He is the helpful Doctor in Nottingham and he teaches vitamins.
