- Welcome to the first part of the suspension upgrade on my 94' Dodge diesel. I try to explain parallel 4 link suspension the best I know how. I know that I forgot to mention many details and hope I can answer them in the upcoming video where we finish the suspension, so leave your comments/questions below. Thanks for watching!!

You achieved a top professional, accurate strong masterpiece, using scape pieces of metal . That’s a perfect, distinctive, cost efficient assignment. Thanks. Always
With your diff angle explanation I love that you explained it but for people who don’t get it I think you kinda over complicated it but I appreciate people like you making videos for people like us that want to do stuff like this so we can learn from others mistakes before we go in blind, thank you
One thing that all suspension upgrades skip is what is the design intent? like in this case are you looking for more articulation in the rear for uneven terrain? are you trying to better the ride? Are you trying to maintain rear dead load weight or improve it? How does this modification help you meet your design needs?
Very good point.
Received the same Nfab 4 link kit a few days ago, your video inspires me tackle the job myself--well at least most of it. My welding skills are not good. I will follow your example of adding a reinforcement plate to the frame. I like the idea. Thank you.
good explanation of what pinion angle is and why its important to match and cancel out each ends rotational speed.
Well done! I like how you go in dept detail, keep it up man, I will be watching this build till it is finished, looking forward to the next video!
Awesome job showing & explaining
Jesse, i think you should have placed the panhard bar mount on the axle more standing up so the bar would be more horizontal, or parallel to the axle tube.
I agree, that would’ve been best, but this still works well
Let’s goooooo, another 4 link. Hell yeah brother
Woo!!
Awesome work sir 👏 great info، simple and to the point , i appreciate 🙏
Thankyou for a very detailed video much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks for this video, I always learn something here
Very cool and simple.... I have an '09 2500 short bed ram that I want to do this too but push the axle back as far as I can in the process to basically give it the wheelbase of a long bed then build a flatbed to fit.... Will look like a bobbed long bed kinda like you did on one of your rig bed builds
Plan to do the same on my other truck eventually, it’s a short bed now, push the axle back to make it a long bed.
@@j_moffitt I have a repo lift/tow bar set up on it and pushing the axle back will help with towing and can move the gooseneck ball back and keep trailers away from the cab ! Plus will ride better on air so it'll be a win win win 👍👍
HEY AMIGO... TU SABES HACER TU TRABAJO Y LO HACES MUY BIEN Y HOY APRENDI ALGO MAS EN LA VIDA MUCHAS GRACIAS !!!
Ready for the airbag install. I gotta do a Dually that pulls a heavy enclosed trailer
I think the panhard bar frame mount would better serve mounted inside the frame rail, so there is more room for air bags or coilovers, which ever is used. Also would have left the bar as long as possible for a smoother action. But what you did looks good 👍
I thought the same thing about the pan hard bar . Why cut it shorter ?
I understand air bags and what they are intended to do, more weight capacity. What is the combo of suspension components target different types of users?
WHOO YEA GO WELDINGGG✨💪🤟🏼
great video.
@j_moffitt, youtube has a "join" feature where you can monetize your content FYI. I think you have to set it up.
Your videos are great. Nice to see someone doing it like most people do rather than in a million dollar shop. Do you think this would be ok in a dual Lu 1 ton pulling backhoes and dozers around. Not sure the link and tubing is big enough.
If it is being used consistently to pull heavily, i would upsize the setup. Although I have used this setup for heavy loads, the added piece of mind is always nice. “There’s no kill like overkill”
Very good video, except why switch from leaf to four link was not discussed for people like me to understand why?
I think I explain a bit in the next video about this project.
This is the kit I will be ordering. Did you stay with the 9/16 bolts and joints? Or did you go with 5/8?
9/16”
What does the panhard bar to do the rear axle,I have a 97 Dodge ram 1500 with track bars installed
Necessary for parallel link suspension to position axle side to side
What length bars did you use? You may have said just didn't catch it. Have a first gen i want to do this same setup with.
These I think are 44”. I would’ve liked them to be a tad shorter but I already had these lying around.
What degree was that angle?
Do you plan on putting a link to the airbags you're going to use?
Yes
do you put the 4link first or the, air bag ? or it don't matter ?
They should be planned at the same time but you’ll want to get your link setup configured correctly first before you add in your suspension.
What length 4 link bars did you use?
44”
How much would you charge to bag my long bed? I live in Augusta

Your better off having ya adjustable ends control arms at the on the chassis end with antiseize on your threads , unsprung weight and damaging threads . And why aren't you running a longer panard rod , it's more beneficial ?
Have to agree to disagree on the thread placement. Longest length panhard you can achieve on a project is always good, I did what I did because I already used that setup before so all I had to do was click “cut”.
Why would you shorten the pan hard bar instead of using the full length of it . Shorter bars create more side to side movement .
To each their own
Ok then . Lol
it is more easy cut a leaf pass axle and setup a air ride on leaf samthing a big rig with plate in each balloun
