did you weld the pickup tube to the oil pump? Or tacked it? i always ran mobil 1 oil 20w-50,with lucas oil stabilizer. honestly,a mobil 1 oil filter is what you need,& a tall one too. Isky OMG79 is the Camshaft grind you need,if this is a 400" or larger engine.

If it has a high velocity oil pump it will read low oil pressure until you are higher in the rpms. It moves the oil to fast to have a lot of pressure build up

For future reference you don't need rvt on a rubber gasket

Just send it! I run the diesel oil in all my stock flat tappet old school motors. Works good and helps the cam and lifters live. I run Valvoline 20w-50 race oil in my hot rod flat tappet motor in my s10. Most times if I don't have the specs on a solid lift cam, I will experiment with lash numbers. I have found most of them like anywhere between .022-.026. Medium or large on shirt sizes. Oh yeah , Chris, haven't you figured it out yet? Hot rodders HATE money and free time!!!!🤣🤣🤣

Gas isnt getting in the oil? Float sticking, thining oil, low pressure?

My opinion is that carb is pouring gas into the oil thinning it out causing you to lose oil pressure, I bet your life would be better without that carb in it.

Are these factory heads or aftermarket? Those don’t look like 3/4 long gasket seal threads on the spark plugs

I use a victor valve cover gasket double cork with metal shim in between the cork 3 years now no leaks no silicone on and off every week end no leaks enjoy your videos thanks

First time I saw 45lbs of oil pressure while idling in my small block, I thought it was broken 😂. You’ll get it eventually. Took me 3 years to build my 68 Nova.

Ed what weight oil has he been running n the mota the thicker the better an on the valve adj just about every solid flat tappet an solid roller cam ive ever run 9 out of 10 times they have been 18 on in. An 20 on ex.an they always loosen up a little when it gets hot
