    I bought this amp. Its a great little bedroom amp. Nice and light, and sounds nice for both guitar and vocals. I’m delighted with it. 🙏☘️☘️☘️

    Anyone else reallly dislike the sound of piezzo pickups?

    • @eekamoose
      @eekamoose 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      After 30 years of playing through piezo pickups and hating the sound I discovered the LR Baggs M80 a few months ago and finally get a sound that I like. It is not particularly cheap and it doesn't exactly enhance your guitar soundhole, but it is easy to mount and remove and it sounds excellent -- very natural. I don't know why these pickups don't get more publicity.

      Untreated piezo just sounds like toothache to me. Magnetic/mic combo (eg. Fishman blend) is where the tone’s at.

      @Fraser McF Molly Parden uses an LR Baggs M1 here, it’s a similar system, but the M80 gives slightly more guitar body character in the sound.

    Although I love the natural sounds of mic'ed Acoustic guitar, I must admit that I also love the sound of piezo pickup. It may not be the true acoustic sound, but it just give somewhat unique tonal option to me

    Personally i think the blended room mic vs di sound is not a good idea, because we won't know what each sounds like. Just do A and then B comparison would be more helpful for more people, same problem with the previous acoustic videos that blend both together. Just my 2 cents

    Piezo quack is very noticeable. It's possible to minimize or eliminate (minimized through my Carvin AG100D; eliminated through my Fishman Aura DI), so why don't more acoustic guitar amp makers do a better job of EQing it out ?

    I bought this Blackstar Acoustic Core 30 and returned it within 24 hours to Guitar center. The on line demo's on this amp are very misleading. To get a true sense of what this amp sounds like turn off all the bass on your Media speakers, than play the demo. The case is made out of some type of Plastic Polymer and has "zero" tonal resonance. The 5" speakers lack total capacity to support any mild or limited bass tones. The controls are cheap, effects are cheap,
    especially the two choices of Reverb. Its always best to try a product in person and that is not always possible so you rely on presentations on the internet which is unfortunate most of the time. Hope this helps out some prospective customers on this amp.

      Thanks for pointing out the mistakes.
      Bty E.Guitar channel often ignore the fact on Piezo pickups. To me, a good amp could find where the Piezo Quack is and tune it down or in their case, up (A Parametric EQ system).
      Plus, they should also try some common guitar models and different pickups to give a bigger picture.
      Sometimes the guitar direct in is better then the main input, because of the pre amp of the amp sucks a lot. by compare both would be helpful to the community.
      Speakers plays a big role as well, Acoustic are more related to "hi-fi" rather then just amps. If an Acoustic amp is good with "mp3" music playing, it often fine with the Acoustic guitar sound as well.
