really really great video comparing all these amps. Thank you so much to the singer as well as whoever decided to include her in the demo. Really hard to find videos demoing these amps with a musician playing and singing.

Although I live in Canada I always come to these folks site as they are most professional in their presentations. Well rounded in every aspect of features and benefits. It was an added bonus with the young lady playing her songs to give even a better feel for what one can expect from each of the models shown. They even surpassed Yamaha because whenever Yamaha show the THR lineup, they never show the THR5A but rather the THR5 which is for electric guitars and does not accentuate the acoustic features. Great demos, as usual!

Best acoustic amp demo online for the small venue gigging musician due to the addition of the vocal demo. Many demos are of amp only with no idea how the vocals sound. Thank you so much for going the extra mile or kilometer in your case!!

I have the Marshall AS-50D. It is very versatile, but flat sounding. I also have a Hartke AC150, which sounds absolutely fantastic. Only issue is it's big & heavy. If you ever come across one for sale, I strongly recommend giving it an audition.

Trick for Orange acoustic crash is to get 10x 2,5 mAh power accumlators in form of AA batteries, and the amp can run for about 18h on full volume.
Im using now guitar with passive magnetic pickup so the time went down to about 10-12h, but with a good active piezzo system it was up to 23h.

The best are AER Alpha Plus, and Boss Acoustic Singer Pro and Orange Acoustic Crush 30. Also, there is one not reviewed here but even better, in the same price range (or a bit more expensive): Hughes and Kettner Era wood
    .

  • @ParaBellum2024

This is a great video, as you've focused on the amps' all-round capabilities, rather than just plugging acoustic guitars in. To my ears, the Boss and Ashdown amps are the best. The AER is slightly thin sounding, possibly because it's just so small. Also, it would have been good to see Fishman Loudbox amps in this review.

Fed X is delivering the Boss Acoustic Singer Live Acoustic Guitar Amplifier to me today. I looked at probably all amps on this video can't remember cause I looked at so many. Have several electric guitar amps but only one small Frontman Fender for acoustic and I wanted a built in loop so I wouldn't have so much to deal with. Will let you know later how it comes out. Also have the FS5L coming with it. Keep pickin and grinnin from Nashville, Tn. God bless

We have the 60 and love it. Built in looper is very! basic but will do for simple things. With 2 mics into the vocal Channel and a big bassy acoustic it sounds amazing. Hope your enjoying it.

I own the Marshall. It has a fabulous warm tone. A huge plus for me is that it's so easy to dial in a tone; a lot of acoustic amps have too many knobs (mid- sweeps etc). So little twiddling is needed with the Marshall!

    • @sandystrait3878
      @sandystrait3878 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I like the Warmth of the Marshall but I'm looking for the independent control of the Fender. The Fender didn't sound amazing in this demo but I have played with one in the local guitar store and it was quite nice. Weirdly enough the salespersons I've spoken to alway favor the Fishman and seem to dismiss the Fender Marshall and Boss. ?

I tried loads and even ordered a Fishman Loudbox which went back. Best by far I found was an Acus 1-6 which was way ahead of the rest even the much revered AER60. I suspect PMT don't sell the Acus so it's "their" best 7 not "the" best 7.

Had an AER Compact Mobile 2 60W acoustic amp. Traded it for a Vox AC15HW. Made for the electric market, but sounds amazing with my acoustic. The Fishman rare earth is amazing soundhole pickups made this happen. It sounds like an acoustic still, and of course still plays like one.

You need to listen to reverbs on amps these days very carefully or you'll not get a professionally acceptable sound, Lots of pretty below par digital effects about since they replaced springs. If you use it for recording in any way Boss singer sounds the biz. Also a well thought out and well built bit of kit. You can pay more but why? You can pay less but you'll regret it if your serious about your sound.

My brother never had a acoustic or guitar amp before so i ordered the A40 Acoustic amp model and good thing my brother is a technical computer settings geek because there are a lot of parameters to setup if you want your personal tone setting and not use presets.
It has a 8" speaker but reviewers say it lacks the deep bass some desire which works best in his apartment.
The good sound sold me but it can be beat with amps priced well over the $249.00 i paid .
The reverbs are good and but i love a room filling sound of a delay that is onboard with flanger & chorus .
I have only used tube amps myself the last 20 years but for acoustic i love the ambient tones chorus gives up.
The AER acoustic amps are for Pro Baskers or going to the PA and sound is perfect as can be.
I hate the digital micro switches even $ 1500.00 amps have because the minute contacts get dusty and fail to work.
I want a amp that last , tube amps i have do not use micro switches but some have relays with small contacts and those can & do fail !
You must complete the circuit with good contacts everywhere or problems soon occur.

Great comparison vid - thanks for sharing!
I've been looking for an amp that gives a natural rendition without adding any colour of its own. In varying degrees, they all sound "pinched" - that's the best word I can come up with to describe a pinched nose (nasal) sound.
    - Overall, the Marshall and the Boss sound the best IMO. I like the looping/voice harmony features on the Boss.
    - Fender (I was considering) tends to be a little Boomy. From in-store demos, I know that can be dialed back.
    - Ashdown has a nice warm tone (Bass engineering heritage) and pretty natural.
    - Yamaha has a really cool footprint and for the size, the sound is pretty impressive - interesting recording features too.
    - Alpha was ok, but didn't have much depth - maybe a little boxy?
    - I'm an Orange fan - this one was pretty good for the size. The sound was crisp and clear.
My choice? - I'm looking into the Boss 120 watt (go large or go home)

I own the Marshall AS-50D and a Laney A-Duo. The Marshall has an excellent chorus but otherwise the Laney is a far better amplifier. The sound is simply clearer. Next to it, the Marshall sounds a bit like a big old valve radio. So I put the guitar and vocal through the Laney and use the Marshall for a Mel9 unit.

    • @Squeezum
      @Squeezum 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I LOVE Laney amps! I have the Laney Lionheart 5 watt amp and the Laney Lionheart 20 watt amp with two Lionheart 12x2 cabinets. The only issues I have with Laney is their distributors in the States are hard to get in contact with and have very limited access to gear and accessories. The other issue is they are no longer hand made in Britain. They're all Chinese made and unfortunately the quality shows. If you can get a preowned, Made In Britain, Laney amp, combo, or cabinet, get it if it's a good deal. I'd pass if it says Made In China.

Great line-up . Not complete, which would be hardly possible to do. I used several in the test, and ended up with a Traynor AM Standard. But tastes my differ. Lots of features and power, but very neutral and pure when asked for. Have fun!

I presently have a Fender acoustic junior and am not that happy with it. I bought it for the small size. The Orange Crush seemed to give what I'm looking for.

I’m not using acoustic electric guitar, just microphone for singing and guitar. Any recommendations? Thanks

I appreciate their effort and a good video, but when I did not see loudbox in the thumbnail I thought it was just a bait.. instantly recognized that loudbox was not in the picture
