Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry your initial coming out was so difficult but sounds like you have managed to pull your life together and seem comfortable with who you are. I served in the Air Force before even “don’t ask, don’t tell “. I never marked anything concerning sexuality.. I simply kept my mouth shut and like you, did my job and stayed squared away. Without a doubt most people in my unit and the Army dust off guys we often flew with had to know I was gay but it never seemed to be an issue. My supervisor was a Vietnam vet (field medic) and one night after drinking and having nothing to do, he asked me straight out and I remembered asking him if it really mattered. I never said anything else about the subject nor did he. At the end of six years of service I had finished college and got out so I could afford to live. I was asked back for a retirement party for my commander and I brought my then boyfriend and EVERYONE was polite, friendly, welcoming and respectful. Being a medic, I guess everyone knew many of the guys were probably less than 100% heterosexual so I guess I was pretty lucky or maybe just happened into a unit of mature and accepting people. Any ways, I’m extremely proud and thankful for your service especially during a time in our military history when you could be dropped into a shooting situation at anytime. Please take care.
You were a US Marine. That's what matters. Thank you for volunteering for service. Thanks to your family for their service. Respect. Find the man who makes you happy, and live happily ever after together.
Army guys gonna have a field day with this😂. but on a serious manner, it’s great to see you being accepted and that MOST (comments) people aren’t treating you badly just because you’re gay. Lotta respect from here
Hey Coffee, just found you and subbed. I've been talking and hanging out with guys your age since before you were born.......this was great. Congrats to you for being so open and accepting of self and others. I'm happy I found you.............Ray

Thanks for sharing your story, many people will never understand the fear of coming out and thats ok. Your job is not to make them understand, your job is to put a helmet on and progress past them. you're doing great friend. 🏳️🌈🙏🏾
Thanks for sharing your story and for your service. It sounds like the military experience was helpful to you. You are an attractive guy and come across as intelligent and thoughtful. Having lost a couple of family members to severe alcoholism, I wish you the best in dealing with substance abuse and hope you are doing well in civilian life.
As long as u promise to keep your military bearing and be respectful, sexuality shouldn't matter when working. You signed a contract to serve your country and that speaks volumes. Keep on keeeping on!!

I wish it was accepted as well back when I was in the Coast Guard. In those days they tossed gay people out with a "less than honorable." Only one person seems to have an issue when little rumors got spread around about me. And that person was my XO. I got pulled into a Captain's Mast when someone made up a story about me and my best friend "making out and being touchy." Luckily my Ops Boss backed me and he played the voice tape and showed the typed logs showing I was on duty, working 3 Search & Rescue cases at the exact time this "making out and being touchy" supposedly happened. Everything was dismissed. And my friend, who was attached to a separate unit, didn't go to Mast with his CO because of the evidence shown at mine. But the 3 guys who made up the story....nothing happened to them. Even though I kept pushing for some judgement. They all swore false statements against us. But my XO wouldn't go there against them. He was after me, the GAY man. I did 6 years in uniform. The Mast was during my third year. It didn't spoil my good times, how well I did my job, or the respect I received from most of my shipmates. I'm glad you had the "outing" you had! As long as a service person does what's expected it shouldn't matter who they take to their bed! Semper Fi, Marine 🇺🇸
You should be so proud of yourself dogg. So few young people, especially men, never take the time out of our lives to ask ourselves the real questions. The fact that you’re so upfront and honest about your substance abuse problem means that you’re already on the right track to defeating it. You’re setting your future up for success with your benefits, mental and physical health and mindset. Keep it up brother!
@Coffee_withtoast where was the hostility deserved... ? He just stated a fact not a judgement. Keep that up in service and you'll be tossed off a deck during a " training accident "
Hey man nice video you seem like a nice honest guy please please don't ruined your life with the alcohol once you get hooked on that it hard to break away being gay is not a crime be who you are we cannot help who we attractive to you very handsome just take it slowly there will be someone you meet for a long turn relationship live for yourselve not for other only you know what's you want in life and who you want wishing you the best stay beautiful and take care of yourself lots of love ❤❤❤
"Nobody cares" yet you took time out of your day to voluntarily click on a video knowing it's subject matter (because it's in the title), then continued to voluntarily type and post a comment to said video... Pretty sure by definition, that's the opposite of not caring 🤔. Your decision to "React" is a you problem

Sounds like the roommate was jealous he wasn't getting no action. 🤨
When I was in you were immediately processed for discharge.
Now you're gone and we moved on without you.

‘No time’ for racism and bigotry in the marine corp?! I wish I could say that too. In my experience, there was plenty of time - too much time.

I like the way you came out. Sometimes I feel like we have to walk around with gay stapled on our forehead.
That is so sad I am bisexual let's be friends bro ❤❤❤❤
