- Hey TH-cam. So today is a special day. While I have already been out for a few years now, I have never really told my story in how I have experienced my life as a gay man, and some of the difficult experiences I have went through facing disappointment and self-identity. I wish to share my story in the hopes of that maybe someone will feel moved or inspired by my story. #NationalComingOutDay

If you were my son,I would be beaming with pride. For despite your own personal challenges and the challenges your family put you through, you remain so loyal and loving to them. They named you Solomon because they knew you would be wise but they could have also named Alexander because you truly are great.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Our parents and grandparents know how hard it is to JUST BE BLACK. They think to add GAY to it also is just one more thing to be hated by. But we are who we are. Much love to you my brother. I hope you are thriving now. Bless your grandmother!

I'm wondering if anyone could explain to me why so many black ppl are so homophobic. I have some ideas, but I'd like to hear from others. It's even worse in the Caribbean and Africa.
Such an awesome story. Hopefully it transitions people to realize that shaming someone to be who you want them to be is never healthy for anyone. We will hurt on the inside although we may not say a word. So very proud of you for having that courage to acknowledge how you truly felt and not tuck that away to satisfy your parents or anyone. We all have but there does come a time when you feel like I've had enough. Some may not ever come to that moment. But for me I'd rather live in truth knowing that I'm happy healthy and making the best of these moments that aren't forever or guaranteed to us. Love you guy stay strong. Solomon. Thank you for sharing your story. To many times parents make it about themselfs not realizing that there child has lived in pain for many years. You are a very beautiful gay man. I am a 73year old gay man married to dennis for many years now. Canada has legal marrage for MANY years now. I wish you peace and happynes and hope you find the love of your life. Soloman, I’m so proud of you! You’re so right; there is nothing worse then feeling like someone who loves you, is ashamed of you. Be you and be strong. They will adjust to a new normal relationship with you as long as you stand strong in who you are. You don’t know me but I love you and support you because you’re a beautiful soul. I’m counting on you to achieve every goal your heart desires. You can win; why? Because you’re a winner!! Your parents love you, they just need time to process. When they come to realize you’re your happiest when being you, they will adjust. They want to know you’re ok and sure within yourself.

I just came across your post. I am a little surprised that I didn't see it before, and I am not sure if your site is still active. i am hoping that it is. Your are a great young man in every aspect - good looking, intelligent and obviously take very good care of himself. I guess by now you have completed your university training and I wish you all the success. You are so right - everybody deserves to be happy, including you. I think you are now happier although the memories make you still very emotional. Make sure you find someone who appreciates the wonderful person that you are, treat you with the respect you deserve and provider you with the depth of unconditional love that you have to give. I'm happy you found yourself; sometimes, it takes decades for a person to do so. You have me thinking I should tell my story as well. Very different from yours. I see you had sympathy for your parents. I didn't at all. I told my mother girl stop crying all your foolish pride and vision for me when GOD DECIDES LIFE PURPOSE. WE GOTTA DO WHAT GOD WANTS.Well, I gotta do what God wants me to. I also said, " Momma, what do you think is gonna happen when you die and have to explain to God you didn't love me, your son cause I was a homosexual?" Don't be that stupid I told her. I'm here working God's assignment for me.

Wow, Mr. Solomon i watched this video and it's not the worst coming out story. But it's sad that parents cannot learn what homosexuality is all about. The bible is what fuels their understanding.
There is a book i want to suggest, hopfully you will read it. It's called "awakening to your life's purpose" by Eckhart Tolle
