This MTB ride wasn't meant to end like this...

- Some rides go well. Some don't... Some start well and end badly!
In this video we went to Janet's Brae at Glentress for my first enduro ride of 2023. None of us had planned on having a mountain bike crash or an MTB fail, but these things happen.
Up until that point all had been going well though. We had travelled to Glentress to have a bit of an enduro day. I took the full sus Aeris 9 MTB and Jimmy took his enduro hardtail. We had a great time practicing some cornering and working our way down the off-mountain bike trails at Janet's Brae.
The riding conditions were pretty good. The only issue was that the weather came in and unfortunately a large number of leaves on some of the trails were hiding some debris that ultimately lead to our MTB fail!

@@streetpigeonmtb What have you injured? I went down to Hamsterley area for one, great event that was well organised with a brilliant selection of trails and for that time of year a perfect length of race. Snapped my chain half way down stage 2 which was not idea but got it fixed for stage 3. Highly recommend the race for next year.

5:39 for this you need goggles. ventet goggles will help to reduce fogging. Mud hugger helps a lot, don't won't eliminate the mud in the face.
For windy conditions you need goggles too. and if you go into a area with insects it's nice too.
Glasses help, but you can still get mud underneath and from above and to the sides. I see that with XC racers face covered in mud and eyes too despite wearing glasses. I see some brands offer glasses with foam around them, but that won't work unless they fit you exactly, so pointless.

Yeah, it was a great place to see if I could still ride a bike and test the ankle. A good day all round... apart from the small tree incident! He is deffo all good 👍

Yeah, it's a weird one. I was a bit too cautious off it this time. Should've committed a bit more I think.
It must have been the weekend for tumbles! I had an OTB as I forgot to see a three foot hole in a trail I was riding.

Ah no. Are you all good after said OTB? MTB is great but crashing is most definitely nae fun. Jimmy is all good. He's made of tough stuff. Injury is still niggling but i'm back on the bike so it's all good : )

I feel his pain Jamie, had a pal travel 2 hours up here on Sunday only for me to have a big crash on the very first run.. big gashed knee and broken chain ring... day over and to top it off I went home and reversed my truck into the back of the wife's car...a very expensive day indeed 😔

Ah, that's a shame. There are some really nice hardtail brands over here although I think it's getting harder and harder for them to operate. Difficult times for the economy over here.
