Thanks for the link @KillianBron. I watched with the subtitles, only mildly distracting for me. Always very impressed with your race films. I'm 62, with some back problems, so I don't ride aggressive downhill MTB much anymore, mostly cross-country single track in my native state, Oregon, USA. I have ridden some fast downhill on Mt. Hood back in the day. But never in such sloppy wet conditions as the Megaavalanche ! A Kona Kikapu Deluxe with many component upgrades was my usual ride. I wish you all the best with your future rides and races !
I don't even cycle, but I find myself coming back to these videos all the time. Ever since discovering this channel randomly years ago, I always look forward to these races.
Me too. I cycled from 13 years old till I was 88. Now at ninety I E-bike. We didn’t have such races when I was young or I would have tried. I was never in as good a shape as these men are though.
Waiting a couple extra days for Killian's video is definitely worth the wait... because the captions he provides to explain the situation and context, and what he was thinking, makes Killian's videos 100X more interesting and compelling. I am grateful that most of the top riders seem to agree to NOT spoil the suspense by giving away the results in the thumbnails / descriptions... because I like to avoid knowing the results and following along with the perspective of the riders in these POV videos without knowing what will happen... makes it 100X more exciting to watch. My adrenaline is spiked just from watching the videos! I feel Killian Bron will surely win Megavalanche eventually- he is always is the mix at the very front... even this year when he was having an "off" day. There should be a race like this in the Olympics! Even though I am American and there are no Americans among the handful of potential winners, it would be a joy to watch Killian race for gold on French soil
most extreme form of downhill exercising I’ve ever had t pleasure to watch !! most people won’t even understand athletes like this.. keep competing Kilian/ love your content (old dh bum in NZ).
@@AileenBaker Yeah I watched both of Macky's videos - he was amazing, especially on the climbs. An overall top 8 (and really he should have been 7th) at his very first mega is super impressive. I hope he keeps going back every year... I'll be cheering for both Killian and Macky
I have probably watched 50+ mass start races & your's are definitely the best. The running commentary of your thoughts/strategies adds another level to the videos. It's easy to just dismiss the speed of top riders as..they're just aliens...but you really demonstrate that getting on a podium at this level is as much mental as it is aerobic & technical. Well done.
Hello Tumid Since you seen that many races, It seems like there's a bunch of places that look misleading, on several I defiantly would have turned the wrong way. These guys must have a resting heart rate in the 40s, . I was thinking back how Secretariat's heart was 28 lbs. Anyway take care dg
Kilian, you are Mr. Megavalanche for me! From the first time I heard about the race, your videos are the ones that bring the race to life and introduced me to the magic! Thank you!
Being an old guy now, having not ridden like this in many years, I have to say, watching this has my arms and legs twitching, my head and body leaning with every switchback. I know I could never ride a course like this with such skill especially now but back in the day man I would have loved to give it a shot. Now I ride through the go-pros of far superior riders like Mr. Bron. Thanks for the ride-through.
GOOd JOb!! KIlian!! ^ ^ Thans for the sub on the screen!! It make me feel like riding the bike along with you on the spot !!! I can smell the tree, mud, grass and even fog~~ What a race!!
Didn't realise someone could breathe so much going downhill. I was hoping you were going to pull the leaders back in, but those conditions looked awful for you. You gave it 100% though 💪💪
you are holding steady on the track a bike plus your own body that constantly want to get off that track. Providing that stability requires a lot of force
I feel I get a workout just watching these, my heart rate definitely goes up. Killian, you are a special human being, thank you SO much for these incredible videos and sharing your thoughts and insights.
Looking forward to this every year, great quality footage and video overall. One feels like one is "in the race" oneself, especially with the extensive commentary and even description about what he thinks and feels at a certain time. One of the following years you will win! Keep going!
Kilian You really are my hero. In every contest you post on youtube, I try to help you in every curve you take from my couch, it's almost like I'm sweating. I'm injured after a traffic accident so I can't cycle a meter but when you post a competition on youtube I enjoy it, it's so much fun to cycle! When i look at you, you have a special fluidity in your cycling, you can clearly see when you are in your bubble and when you are not. It's just such a shame that it's so far between the competition lines that you post on youtube, it would have been more often. Good luck!❤
Yippee! I love the speed showing, live ranking, and will never get tired of seeing you do that amazing race. ETA: "The more I trained, the more luck I had", is something the Swedish Winter athlete Ingemar Stenmark have said.
I had fingers crossed 🤞 hoping for you to win 🏆 Bravo on your performance. Maybe next year for the win 😁 Love the video, commentary really helps, as does the position and speed on screen. Thank so much for all your hard work ❤
That’s one of the amazing videos I watched. I bit all my nails. This is freaking awesome, you’re freaking awesome, dude! When I was young, I did trails with my friends, nothing like that, though, but still. Man, it’s a good time to be alive.
Kilian, you have the best Megavalanche videos by far. Keep adding the extra information, it's very illuminating for those of us who haven't raced mass start enduro. Because your Megavalanche videos are so good, I've watched almost all them.
Congrats and great finish! Love all the commentary and one of the few TH-camrs that I will watch 100% through to the end of the video. Awesome race dude!
Congratulation on the 4th place ! I can't wait to see more immersives videos of the event but i hope you'll still do a commentary of your descents. You are a gem !
Another Epic Race and great video - how you manage to keep those speeds up on that terrain always amazes me - thanks for the video and I do love the graphics showing the speeds etc. Keep up the great work!
Great video dude. Never apologize for anything unrelated to your race, you are not a film maker and that's why we're here, hoping we can have a bit of the experience you had when going downhill and that means mud, breathing, your thoughts, surrounding sounds and etc. If one thing, I am grateful you have the thought and work of cleaning up the camera lenses, people might not realize but this simple action could cost you a first place someday, so thanks for bringing us with you.
I'm so happy you allow us to ride along side with you. I guess noone here could ride this track as fast as you without dieing, at leas because of lacking air and running out of heart rate capacity 😂😎🙏🇩🇪
Love these from you every year. Great effort, in wild conditions! My buddy Macky raced this year for the first time and ended up with 8th, not far behind you.

Another great Megavalanche video - it seems like an especially close race race this year in really difficult conditions. I'm appreciating more and more how a small deficit in the snow/rock/dirt road section will have extreme importance later on. I have the impression you can make up time on most riders during the technical terrain when the glacier start point is used, but it's more difficult on this course. Of course Hugo's explosion at the bottom of the big climb at 14.00 mins appeared to be unstoppable! Anyway, congratulations! Your riding, videos, commentary are all amazing. Winning is important for athlete but it's not everything - a friendly rivalry can bring out the best in us, and is something beautiful. Winning is fun, but we learn most from losing

It felt like home riding with you. I hope you have a great year and look forward to riding along with you next year when you take first! Best to you.
I think I'm not the only one who watches the video and leans in the corners. The first time I saw a video of yours I thought it was accelerated and I checked the speed of the movements of the public and the other runners because it was incredible to me! Thank you for this great race... for bike lovers it is a dream to be able to go down like this and a pleasure to see it! Please don't apologize again for the mud on the camera!!

Thank you fo bringing this race to us, what an amazing accomplishment . I have watched many other TH-cam videos of yours and you got me back into MTB, all though only for pleasure at my age. I recently purchased a META Race HT, which I thoroughly enjoy riding here in Zambia. Thank you.
Go Kilian Go ! Thanks for this great moment ! What a trick from 5th to 4th perfect timing ! I appreciate your comments tips and everything on this video, thanks to give to us what makes you good.
It is that time of the year to watch Kilian Bron race the Megavalanche from Colorado, USA. I always look forward to this annual run down the mountain. When I first seen this years ago, I thought this is crazy, never seen or heard of such a race. Fun to watch.
I have been looking forward to your video all week. Thank you so much for sharing, and especially for sharing your thoughts about the ride itself. In the middle where all the mud was, I noticed that your front tired literally had no tread, it was just caked in with mud. How in the world you kept that bike upright is beyond me. Excellent job as always and I look forward to watching more of your races.
Every year I watch these videos and my heart is beating like jungle drum. This stuff is incredible. You guys are animals and I will never understand how its possible to tame tracks like these. Anyways, thanks for doing this for sofa potato like me who's most extreme thing in life is riding bicycle without hands. Huge respect.
I enjoyed to watch this video. You are an incredible rider. A really high speed on this slipery surface. Thanks to share the Video and the continous commentary in the race.
That was friggin intense. I used to race XC and I always feel that I'm much better in a bit muddy terrain. I don't do well when it's hot. Brings back the memories of constantly trying to catch my breath and recover at every opportunity. Congrats! 👍
I watched both this video and Stefan's at the same time, on two 4k monitors side by side... That was one hell of a ride! Congrats to both, what an amazing race it was despite the weather!
I love watching these videos from you and this race every year. I love hearing your thoughts - you are a phenomenal rider. Thanks for making these for us.

Your English comments are so fast. Can you make it slower?
If they comment it slower he'll lost positions...
The woods was proper nuts - the worst ever been, but it separated true riders from Joeys where I caught loads of people up 😉
You rock Killian! I watch your videos every year, and every year I enjoy them. Keep it up man!
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing everything, including your thoughts and strategies! I look forward to next year!
Thanks to share the Video and the
continous commentary in the race.
It was a pleasure watching and seeing your detailed commentary, I'll be sure to check out your other videos!
That was friggin intense. I used to race XC and I always feel that I'm much better in a bit muddy terrain. I don't do well when it's hot. Brings back the memories of constantly trying to catch my breath and recover at every opportunity. Congrats! 👍
What a great race... Kilian Bron's commentary puts you right on the rider's seat ... very engaging.... thank you for making the effort and sharing!
I watched both this video and Stefan's at the same time, on two 4k monitors side by side... That was one hell of a ride!
Congrats to both, what an amazing race it was despite the weather!
Love watching the glacier starts but the start here was just awesome. The skill to navigate those rocks at the beginning is just amazing. Great run!
I love watching these videos from you and this race every year. I love hearing your thoughts - you are a phenomenal rider. Thanks for making these for us.
I love watching your videos and especially Megavalanche! I appreciate the work you put in adding captions for context. Keep up the great work!
