The Last Tear gets worse once you realize its about Puppy's dad and her conception. Any scenario you can think of that led to this is always tragic. Having a random mate for each pup would've been easy but *NOOOO* her love life has to be difficult
I came back here to check what people said about the game in general since none of my friends know it or they have not played the game. But reading this in particular gives so much sense to the song. Referring to the promise Laika did to herself, and that somebody forced her to break, from which the result was Puppy. Thanks for the realization, we can relate more of the OST to Laika.

I have a sort of weird theory here, but I feel like most, if not all of the songs that have lyrics, reflect Laika's thoughts and/or feelings. (I'll try my best to explain without spoilers. And apologize for the long text but appreciate it if you are interested :D ) If you deeply analyze Laika, you may be able to relate the music with her life, not what just happens in the game but possibly her past. I'm Not Gone is obvious, and adds weight to the theory, as it is a direct connection with Laika, although she is not there, it's like her letter to Puppy. Her thought while she falls for The Egg, knowing what follows next. The Whisper, to me reflects how Laika feels in general during the game events. Feeling how she lives for a duty she had not choice but to fulfill, at the expense of living her life as she would have wanted ("Something lost in me"), when she understands the difference between living and staying alive by completing certain quests for the tribe's people. The Hero, is being more specific on how she thinks of herself, having to carry the burden of the deaths she witnessed, and how for some of the things she did, have seemed to do more harm than good, and these things she did for her duty, rather than herself actually willing to do them. (The song depicts somebody thinking of themselves as a sinner and how things used to be better.) My Destiny, Through the Wind and The End of the Road. For these three I feel they are connected. My Destiny reflects Laika self questioning about the uncertainty of future, not just people, but more prominently, her future, given Puppy will soon inherit. She's lived too much and too long the present, unsure if there's even a future, so she has no clue of what she'll do in retirement and what will be of her when it happens. (A question that Shaza did to her.) Added to that, Through the Wind is Laika considering if it is actually possible for her to live her life, escape her duties and leave everything behind, those wishes and things she ever wanted to live can be at reach, but she knows she cannot, everyone is doomed without her, genuinely caring for the tribe folk, leaves aside her own wishes. (I quote a certain line of the song: "Do you realize what's greater than life?") The End of the Road, is like the follow up. Putting it simple. She wants to quit, although she feels defeat, at the same time she'd feel like she is free from her restraints. (Giving another sense to a certain line in the song other than vaguely depicting what Orella did.) So, her first wish with this realization... is to rest. ("I want to rock"). ___ I believe the other songs could have more relations with Laika, but the text would be colossal so I just included the ones I have more clear hehe.
That's exactly the impression I got from the ost while playing and also listening to it as well - musical storytelling in Laika is awesome. But what I'd like to add is that the songs are real in-game songs made by an in-game character - Beicoli - which puts another layer in depth to the ost in my opinion. Since she wrote the music, it might also be also about Beicoli and Laika just really likes her music because it (obviously) resonates deeply with her. The only real proof of that theory is the Beicoli's performance of Hero though. (And also I think themes of her songs are rather vague if we don't put the lyrics to the game's story.) However I like to believe that I'm Not Gone is Laika's song reather than Beicoli's, something like a lullaby for Puppy (since it shares the same leitmotif with Where We Dream)
@@radormir5047 I mean the theory is strong if we put aside Beicoli (By the way, her music is great, I've heard other songs outside of Laika). But I feel that Beicoli being in game is a counter-argument. Because the songs would be just a lot of coincidence, so what's left to say is that the reason Laika likes Beicoli is because her music relates with her quite a lot.
That's an awesome theory ngl. I already had an inkling some of the songs were about her, but I never thought they'd be her thoughts and feelings about her life, her experiences, her role as guardian, and her future.
man laika is such a good game, sad it didnt get the popularity it deserves. i remember right before release they updated the demo to have overthinker in a gas station and i grinded where our ancsestors rest for the money. i was in the head up discord before and won 3 free games, pumpkin jack, tinkertown, and finally a game of my choice. this was about 2 weeks before the game released and still no news, so i asked if i could delay the reward until it released and they agreed (by they i mean the very kind jeppejoy and novapichu). i saw some hints about the game and more spoilers on the twitch stream with ivan (a dev on the team) and finally when it released on the release stream they challenged us to see if we could beat the demo without dying and i did, right after that they awarded me the game and then released it a bit later, so technically i got it pre release. i remember coming home from school with no real point and i would just drive around, listen to the amazing ost and play the demo non stop. i figured out a way to get out of bound on the demo with a now patched exploit and got a broken but still really nice sneak peak on things that werent shown yet. it and its community are so nice and even thought it only lasted around a month i still look back on it fondly
If you want to see Laika: Aged Through Blood 2, then I urge you to buy the first part to your friends, let them play and leave feedback in the steam, show an asset in official and non-official groups, create art, memes, cosplay. Make sure that more people know about this game, talk about this game everywhere, and maybe if the developers see how much we love this game and that the first part earned a lot of money, then maybe we will see the second part. P. S. I don't know about you, but for me Laika: Aged Through Blood has become the game of the year, and literally the best indie game, so I really want the developer not to abandon this universe and I will do my best to let the world know that there is a game called Laika: Aged Through Blood
Where We Dream hits harder when you realize its a motif of I'm Not Gone.
I used to listen to Laika's OST while at work all the time. I never noticed this.
I think it started to rain.

This game fits in the group of: "Bro, I bought you a Game, no a Music Disc"
The Longest Road on Earth is more of a music video than a game.
Laika's story though hit hard, thanks to the music. 10/10 game and soundtrack

"No Return" hit like a truck on my first playthrough

bro I swear half of the tracks of Laika can make me cry😭
Yeah, 7:08 Through The Wind really do be hittin' like that.
Just finished the game and the fact that there are only a couple people that have played through it much less finished it is highly criminal
These songs hit much harder if you have experienced them all in the game, so it is absolutely a shame more haven't
@Dawnchaser0 real
this entire ost hits so goddamn hard.
This entire games music slap imo
We ride together, we cry together.
Oh my god I can’t believe someone actually did this
Fun fact
My father's father was from California. He rode with a motorcycle group.
One member of the group was Lee Van Cleef.
This game was such peak
I added some of the songs from this game to my playlist. And I don't remember all the other ones hitting this hard, jeez.
Thanks for making this
Never seen a truer video in my life
Art
Playing in the Sun is the best track by far imo
А как же песня ?
Take the end of Halo: Reach and put I'm Not Gone over it
this is yes
good
this is so peak I love you this is awesome
This is too real
