Hey Alex something you said here sparked a memory. You said you were going to get this boat "torched and cleaned up." I could swear I saw a video of yours where you had a propane torch with a weird angled flame attachment on it. I could also swear you were adding color to a boat with it (it wasn't the topic of the video). Am I crazy or is this a thing?
Also, just picked up a M ozone a few days ago and have only had it inna pool sofar. (wisconsin is cold) But, hoooooLY is it spicy at 210. Sold my rockstar 3.0 to a buddy who needed a boat for a freestyle clinic(flatwater), decided to do same clinic in the ozone, should be entertaining.

Yeah that is going to be sporty. Try removing the seat pad and sitting on the actual plastic
@@AlexBarham actually pulled the seat out and cut about 3/8" of the support foam out the bottom. Made shims from an old cutting board to put in where the seat screws to the hull on the side. Perfection.

Oh, dude. That sucks about the tools. Some people are just shitty. Had a thief break in twice and take all my tools last fall too. Even caught them on camera the second, and the police wouldn't do anything despite it being a felony amount
Dealing with the cops later, but yeah tools are almost untraceable and easy to unload. Odds of recovery are near zero

I really not sure the plastic is better we will see if there is still ozones around in 20 years. I agree on all other points but some of the old pyranha plastic and Eskimo and riot stuff was from my experince 20 years ago and now better sadly. Dont get me wrong sure you will find plastic is now better for environment just not in strength and endurance.
We know for sure that the newer stuff is lighter. That was extremely obvious in handling this boat. It really is going to depend on the boat itself after 20 years. How was it stored and what vintage of plastic it was will have a huge impact. I have been both pleasantly surprised and completely let down by retro boat plastic.
@@AlexBarham yeah do agree completely on the way they are stored does make a difference. Just personal experience which could be just seeing the bad end and certainly no comments aimed at any brand. I still have a prozone under my lean to that i bought brand new. Its not been in ideal storage but replaced all grab loops and fitting last month and plastic was great. It was one of the first released into UK so sure over 20 years ago now lol. To same point hung above it is a dagger rewind, mk1 waka tuna, liquid logic space cadet, dagger guide. These are unholed useable lol but to side I have a scrap 9r2, machno and rockstar (I have disposed of a couple of boats completly and sold some with this list lol). I think there is definetly more standardisation of build quality now but just really not sure if plastic is as thick in efforts of comfort and lower weight (always going to be compromise between weight and performance i know) or as strong some times. Ever done any comparisons of thickness of plastic on boats with all holes you have cut drilled extended? Sorry for the long blurt!
I haven't, just because I am not a materials engineer with a background in HDPE and that would reay be the only qualified person to talk about this.
