I had one, did not get on with it at all and sold it. Mine was the Medium. I'm at the top end of the weight range for this size.
I wholeheartedly agree with the 'cons' you mention. There is a significant mismatch between bow and tail volume. Being on the heavier side of the weight range, I thought flat water tricks would be relatively easy. They were anything but. It took monumental effort to throw down the bow in comparison to the tail. When I did get vertical it just didn't want to stay there, so stalls were none existent.
And yet, when paddling down river, the bow and stern were permanently under water so I had to constantly fight to maintain my line. Its also too narrow and constantly wants to flip over.
In 30+ years of boating it's the most unstable and unpleasant kayak I've ever paddled.
In summary it was a rubbish flat water playboat and a rubbish river runner.
    I've replaced it with a 14 year old I3.
I can do EVERYTHING in this boat; flat water tricks, river running, surfing, the lot. It does what a river play boat should and cost me one seventh of the price of my Ozone.
In terms of river play, I think Pyranha have lost their way. Other boats in their line up for creeking and river running are great but the Ozone is definitely the runt of the litter.

I didn’t like it at first either when they first came out. It has to be set up perfectly and outfitted to the max. They definitely put too much volume in them. Can’t disagree with some your comments. Obviously small is a different boat than a medium even if it’s the same design.

Do you think the large would have suited you better?

@@paddlepaddlepaddle8147 No. The large would have been even harder to get vertical.

Bit of a change of tone? Good to hear it. You'd take this over the Loki now?

Not necessarily but I would keep both. They both do some things extremely well!

Nova is hands down best surfing boat there is. It was glorious.
