    Love the intro, Wade - real thorough and fair review! Thank you! Loving the chicken cameo as well! haha.
    All constructive criticism gratefully received and noted; we for sure are listening to you. Here are some responses to a few of your points:
    - The drain bungs are as they are to give us a more reliable way of getting a good seal (rotomoulding threads is a pain!). We shortened the cord recently to prevent them getting trapped under the tail of the boat and pulled off; anyone with a longer string can tie a knot in it to get the same effect.
    - The logo did change - we decided to go big or go home! haha.
    - Handles generally equal weight and recess 'scoops', so we kept them to a minimum on this to avoid those.
    - That buckle can be doubled back too to lock it in, we just leave it threaded once at the factory so it's a little more adjustable for the paddler.
    - The outfitting pack should have had some self-adhesive pads for your knees! We used to stick them in, but they were never in the right position for the majority of people.
    Thanks again!
    Pyranha

      Hi Pyranha! I got my Small Pyranha Ozone in May 2020, and I realize now from Wade's video-- that it does not have the foam pillar in the middle as shown by Wade here.
      Is there a part that can be sent for this issue?

    Dont know why pyranha always did little rocker in the nose but they have added more than normal which is good to see,like the high knee position and the proportions of the boat look good.With the hip pads sometimes I cross the straps which worked on the inazones to hold them more steady and prevented them riding up.Great Video!

    I bought an Ozone last year. It took a little bit to get used to the higher knee position than my old S6F but I'm enjoying it now. I also did the back band upgrade that you suggested. Next I'll be looking to upgrade to a new creeker/expedition boat for class 4+ and 5. I was thinking about a Ripper 2 but there may be too much overlap in the use cases.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  ปีที่แล้ว

      The ripper 2 is so good at creeks and Play definitely worth the upgrade from ozone

  • @billyb3689
    @billyb3689 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Cool review man, I think that modern playboats (GuiGui and Jackson) need volume to do well in comps, but that makes it WAY harder for beginner playboaters to access the sport and get vertical, all for these designs

    Same problem with the backband buckle slipping..contacted Pyranha, who said to tie a knot in it as you said..did fix the problem but not what you expect from Pyranha at the new price tag!..otherwise great river playboat !

    I like watching your videos, Wade. Lots of good stuff. The chicken bloopers had me laughing out loud. I was wondering at 5'6 and 165lbs if I would be best suited in a small or a medium. I definitely want a lot of play in the stern, but i want to make this a 3-4 river runner. What do you think?

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zac Sav4ge dam that a hard call I have not been In the small but at 5’6” the med is going to feel very big in the knee area. If your more play go with the small the med will work as a better all round boat as always your best bet is going to have to try and round up a demo somewhere let me know if you do I would like to hear your thoughts on the small

    • @zacsav4ge100

      @@WadeHarrison yeah its a hard decision because I've paddled nothing but a playboat, so im used to running rivers in a more sporty manor, and i aim to keep it that way, but i need something meant to run rivers and ozone seemed to fit perfectly. I feel like id rather be over the weight range on a small and have a nice, tight fit than swim in a medium.
      Thanks for the detailed response man. Im going to try my best to demo a small, i will definitely get back to you with my thoughts.

  • @gonegolfing08

    First off love the videos Wade and believe they are extremely insightful. I do have some questions on the ozone though and was wanting further input if possible. I currently own a mixmaster 7.5 and love the boats performance but I don’t exactly fit mostly in the feet (size 13) so shoes are not really an option. I prefer boating with shoes even more so in the winter/drysuit season so I would like something slicey that I feel comfortable in because if I’m not comfortable I’m going to paddle it less. I would be more in the large range 6’1 215 and and not sure if you have tried the large just wondering if you think this would be an upgrade for me. I’m mostly interested in this my slice boat being used for splats and stern stalls/squirts and river running. Eventually work on getting the bow down once I progress in my skills more. I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. Thanks Mark

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the ozone has a large size you might want to try that one Pretty sure you will fit river shoes in that one I'm in the M but I can tell you I paddled the Mixmaster7.5 and the outside the bow stalls/cartwheels the ozone is better in every other category surfing stern stalls splats and river running and yes fit is better the stern is really good on that boat

    • @gonegolfing08
      @gonegolfing08 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks I’m going to try and find a large and see how the fit is before buying but everything I’m hearing review sounds like ozone is the boat for me

    Great review Wade, question on your outfitting point. Do you mean a full seat swap to improve an older boat or just more time getting it to fit correctly?

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blake Sommers no it’s the same seat it I was just trying to shoe how to adjust forward and back the seat is comfortable it’s just pretty difficult to adjust.

    I live in Portland and I paddle a Zen3 for river running and a Monstar for surfing short ledges and park and play. I ride down easy lower class 2 stuff in the Monstar but I hate going downstream in it. I can't do fancy play moves other than surf, back surf, and get vertical. But that is good enough for me.
    I want something that I can go downriver in class 2 and feel good about it. Then get better at it and take it down class 2+ and some 3-. I just don't want to be doing slicey stuff when I DON'T want it. I had a wavesport Score and I hated it. Any thoughts?

    • @oregonxyz
      @oregonxyz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One more thing: I want this boat to also be good at catching some ocean waves. The Strait of Juan de Fuca is great for that kind of stuff.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is a surf machine and its decent down river I would recommend the firecracker over this for what you're looking for.

    Hey, second time down Ocoee yesterday, first time down in my super ez. It was a blast! Haven't been paddling long but was looking to spice up the run so I figured why not. How would you compare/relate the ez to this boat? I'm guessing I'd need a large just for my long legs.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s drastic difference between this one and the ez series the large ozone will fit you easy it’s big good luck getting cartwheels unless you have a lot of power or a big hole the tail on this boat is very easy to get vert on everything it’s way better down River then the EZ

    Hey Wade, I am in a liquid logic session + right now and am looking to upgrade to something newer. Ozone looks sweet and like a nice update for me. I am 6’3 fluctuating between 185-195, would the medium or large be a better fit for me? Unfortunately I am struggling to find a demo.

    • @WadeHarrison
      @WadeHarrison  4 ปีที่แล้ว
