    I do have to applaud Nissan for the exterior design of this Sentra! 👏👏👏

    THANK YOU!!! We absolutely love the new Sentra's interior (and exterior, of course)!!! We had yet another wonderful experience test-driving both the 2020 Sentra SR and SV for the second time in a month this past week. It reconfirmed our likes of the Sentra: Roomy, smooth, comfortable, spacious and sexy!!! It also compounded the dislikes of the competition: the new Corolla (too cramped & too low), Civic (new ugly duckling of its' segment), Elantra (non-premium-feeling interior materials) & Mazda 3 (beautifully sculpted outside but cramped inside), all of which we also test-drove recently. We're planning to finally trade-in our ever-trusty and reliable 2007 CVT-equipped Nissan Versa SL Hatchback (with Intelligent Key) with 245K miles on the odometer today. We bought the Versa new and have never experienced any problems with its' mechanicals, beyond regular recommended maintenance (engine oil changes, CVT fluid flushes, ignition coils, brakes, motor mounts). It is still running smooth and strong. It will be difficult to part with our beloved Versa, but the Sentra is a worthy successor. We placed a deposit and are awaiting the arrival of an SV with the gorgeous orange pleated leather seats and Nissan's wonderful AroundView Monitor 360-degree camera system (unavailable feature with Civic, Corolla, etc.!). The Sentra's recent Ward's Auto Best Interior Award is well deserved and validates the tremendous efforts by the Sentra's international design team to differentiate it from the pack. The seats are as beautiful, but definitely MUCH more comfortable than those of a low-mileage (32K miles) Tesla Model S trade-in our Nissan dealer had in inventory. Even the Sentra's dash and center console materials were of noticeably better quality than the Tesla. A cacophony of hollow and tinny sounds were given off when tapping on different surfaces in the Model S. Thanks Nissan for going the extra mile with this all-new Sentra!

    I find too many people criticize Nissan on CVT issues that occurred 2 generations ago. I know 3 people with Nissan’s equipped with CVTs. 1 2015 Maxima, and two 2017 Sentras all with over 80,000km with NO issues. I also had a 2012 Nissan Versa as my first car. 95,000km with no issues before I wrecked it. The dash lit up like a Christmas tree when I ran into the back of that Chevy Express though!

    It really shows a lot of effort. The B13 Sentra SE-R had almost the same power rating as this one, and it had an SR20DE motor in it. It was a real surprise in the performance department, and I am still a huge fan of them. I think this Sentra is going to be one of a few that can actually compete with the Korean products. The battle to stay relevant at this price point seems to be just heating up. Thanks for another great review.

      So they added 9hp in 30 years, major fail in my book. Civic SI will run rings around this. Hyundai Veloster N wouldn't even break a sweat on this. You praising this sr obviously don't know how far other companies have come since the B13 ser days.

    Nissan definitely hit a home run with the new Sentra. I owned a 2015 Sentra SR and currently own a 2018 Altima. The Altima which has the zero gravity seats is arguably one of the most comfortable, if not the most comfortable, car to drive on the road today. If the new Sentra can emulate that level of comfort along with all the other attributes it now shares with the Altima it certainly makes a compelling case as an alternative given its lower price point. However, the Altima still does offer more interior and truck space, is significantly more powerful and quicker and offers an almost identical mpg rating as the Sentra. The Altima also has an all wheel drive option that Sentra doesn’t offer so there is that to consider as well.
    A more compelling case is the new generation Altima being an alternative to the Maxima. They are both identical in size and with the Altima turbo engine option gives a level of performance, comfort, ride and handling that more than challenges the Maxima at a lower price point. It’s probably why Nissan recently announced it will no longer offer and stop manufacturing the Maxima after 2023.

Ive been hearing that the 2021 Pathfinder will have a 9 speed auto and it would be cool if the QX60 would do the same. That would be the resurrection for Nissan/Infiniti, if you will. The Pathfinder will actually ditch the CVT, it’s being replaced by the 9 speed auto like you said, which is a good thing. The problem with Nissan is that they should only put CVT’s on certain vehicles, like the Versa, Sentra, Altima, Rogue, Kicks since they’re smaller cars. The bigger cars should stick to a regular auto transmission

    Lol jk. Gotta say man, great review. I have considered trading in my truck for something smaller like the 2020 Sentra. What stops me from doing that, is I know I’ll regret the loss of Horse power, and torque. It’s just too slow of an engine to keep up with everything else like the Civic type R, the new corolla, and the up coming ford smaller size sedan.
    Overall. I love your review. 10/10 for me. Great work!

    Nissan makes a nice presentation. Looks nice...but 2017-2019 Altima & Sentra are in the top 5 of all cars that depreciate the most within the first 3 years (ask any car dealership finance department). Reason being poor mechanical reliability. I don't expect a 2020 or 2021 model year to be any different.

    • @joshua9073
      @joshua9073 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don’t plan on selling the Sentra then it won’t matter on depreciation. They all drop 20% or more in first 3 years. Lease, lease, lease like me

    Considering that this is clearly value oriented car that punches well above its price, why is the warranty 36k? I mean it is a Nissan so quality is where they need to reassure their customers, its just bling. Or may be that is just a USA thing because the standard warranty they offer here 3yrs 62k miles (100k.km). Their competition, mainly Japanese & Korean, come with 5yrs/100k/kms and many folks use that up in 2yrs.
