Purchased our 15 year old daughter a used Ford Escape 2014 which was very nice. Wanted her to learn to drive on the vehicle she was going to drive. It had some recalls that were a couple years old so took it in and had recalls done at a local Ford dealership. After started having issues with the coolant system and that was one of the recalls and was told the repairs could cost a lot of money. Decided to trade it before got bad so on January 1, 2022 went to a Nissan dealership and traded it for a new 2022 Nissan Sentra SV. So with insurance pay out went back to Nissan dealer and ended up with a new 2023 Nissan Alitma SR. Lot of vehicle for the price once again. Loved both of these cars so when my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado stated giving me a lot of engine problems with only 19,000 miles decided to dump it and went to trade for a new 2023 Titan Midnight Edition. Moved and really didn't need a truck anymore and sitting next to the Titan was a new 2023 Nissan Maxima SR. Test drove it and then drove it home. It looks pretty good... however, it is one of the most underwhelming compacts on the market..
This is compact like a Corolla and civic .... subcompact would be like the versa
Look at that price. It can’t be beat
not sure how its underwhelming compared to its competitors. If anything, it offers tons of more luxurious features and costs less than its competitors
Needs to get the 1.5T from the Rogue, and a better transmission than a CVT. Nissan can do a modern SE-R from, the parts bin!
Did you see the Sentra nismo concept?? It's basically everything you described except it's a 2.0 L turbo....and a manual
That rogue engine gonna die before 150k miles 😂
With 225ftlbs and FWD that would be GTI levels of performance, you'd need a reasonably firm suspension and maybe even 245mm tires.
@@gmanbaz Never kept a car more than 100k miles, so no worries for me.
@@BoopSnoot Whatever it takes. Nissan managed the V6 with FWD in the Maxima so should be able to figure it out.
I'm not sure I care that much for the noise inside the cabin, I like to hear the emergency vehicles. What I would like is an assessment of the lighting, no one is doing that.
This is for the creators why do no review companies and TH-camrs Tell the customers or viewers what the average fuel range of a full tank of gas is going to get them?

Undoubtedly the best in the segment, face to face with the civic, for the year comes the new sentra det 2.0 turbo mt
Manual treansmission? When?
Does anybody know if altima and sentra has mpi or direct injection and is altima and sentra use same CVT? Thanks
Need a new compact daily and this Sentra and Corolla is looking like a good option right now was thinking about an EV but i just cant do the daily recharge
you don’t need to daily recharge an EV, unless you do 200-300 miles per day. For average driving, just recharge it when it gets to a point you need to do it. We don’t top off our gas cars daily so it wouldbe good to have that same mindset for EVs.

I just got mine last night! For 26k
$650 a month and $1000 down! Not bad this car is really nice!
(Note)
Never use the start botton! It will kill your starter super fast!!!
Then how you start the car

You didn't show it maybe you dont know but the button on the shifter thats just a line is sport mode
These sell to ignorant women who learned that Nissan was a competitive car back in the 1970s (Datsun) and 80s and that’s all they know, and reject any new information to the contrary. It is an impressive car in the showroom.
Nobody remembers Dotsons from the 70s and 80s 😁. It’s a nice modern car. There is also very cheap. Yeah you can spend a lot more money and get a better car.
Nissan needs to match Hyundai and Kia 10 year 100k warranty esp with the CVT issues they’re known for 😅
They won't unfortunately do 10years, but the newer Jatco CVTs from 2019 to present are decent, just change your transmission fluid when required...........
I have a 2013 Altima with a CVT. I change the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles and my car runs like it’s brand new.
My only gripe with the end was the batsuit, and how they poorly utilized the “joker” Jeremiah, should’ve never killed Jerome he was one of the best “jokers”
No fog lamps? Looks like 2023 was the best last year
X2! Looks goofy without fogs
Nissan should have kept the fog lights on the Sentra, glad I have the 22 Sentra with fog lights..........
Any chance of getting a 2024 Subaru Impreza RS review ?
Nice car love it
It has good looks ruined by a weak engine and a crappy CVT.
There is a reason why they are going for so cheap compared to the far superior Civic and Corolla.
Sentra's engine doesn't break, you just give your opinion because you have no idea
Sentra! Official vehicle of the uninsured apartment dwelling urban male motorist drifting wildly between lanes without blinker.
Not just males
Yeah, way more poor women that have this car from what I gather.
You're thinking of Altima. An official vehicle of African Americans.
🧢🧢🧢.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! You are talking about the old Altima's! Sentra's are the poor college kids going through small engine courses and attaching a bunch of performance parts to get incremental HP and TRQ increases.
LEDs are not good for everything. This idea that your car lights are not all LEDs is this stupid
Drove the Sentra for a week. Nice car but can't trust Nissan transmissions.
Good for 10 years or 2,00,000 kms
Whichever comes first
I swear I thought it was the mitosis twins talking to me before I realized they’re different people
Please test the Subaru Impreza RS. Thank you !
auto stop is awesome!
First Sentra review I see they use the word “quick” 😂😂
... for the class, that is 😂
@@CarConfections I have to race my 21 SR against a Corolla and get back to you 🤣
Top quality small car imho.
I’ve driven the Sentra and Corolla extensively. The Sentra is much better. I haven’t driven a Civic.
The highest trim Sentra wouldn’t hold a candle to either a base model civic or Corolla lol
You know what destroys this car? A civic, Corolla, Mazda 3. Everything else is cool if reliability and longevity aren’t your #1 concern.
Look at that price compared to paying 30k for a base Corolla after mark ups
@Johnnyiswhere I got a loaded 2023 Sentra with more features than there car had for $26,000. I looked at the 2023 Civic which cost more but also what steered me away was its bland styling. Sentra has a much more muscular styling while the Civic looks like a Jetta.
@Johnnyiswhere you're so right! Here in Dallas, a base Corolla LE gasoline sedan is goin for 30K OTD after all the markups. However I can get a nicely equipped Sentra SV sedan for 23k after discounts. That's a 7k price difference and the Sentra SV has more features!
“Destroys”, what are you, 7?
Non-GR Corollas aren't all that impressive.
I like it but I rather have an SUV over a sedan
It might be better if not for the C V T ! Stop start technology is worth one mpg. So the winner is......the Mazda 3.
Better? Maybe not. Nicer? Absolutely!
I'd prefer to get the Kia Forte GT with 201 H/P, 7 speed dual clutch. Blow this car in the weeds. And no CVT. Better warranty. About the same price.
Blacked out rims look like you have spare ties on.
Not bad for a cheap car.
its not cheap car, cheap cars are one you buy from Facebook marketplace with 200k miles for $5000, salvage title
@@AlexT2048 it’s a cheap car for someone like me.
action speaks louder than words, you wouldn't be in this section if you had made it in life@@moneypenny174
Mazda 3 manual trans the only way to go with these compact cars.
How much more do they cost though?
Nissan will never be better than Honda or Toyota
Right now Sentra is better than Toyota and Honda, have you seen recently made Hondas and Toyotas, they suck big time, they are now over charging for the brand, they used to be good. Only Acuras are better in Honda line up and Lexus in Toyota lineup
I think I’d rather go with a mazda3 with its automatic transmission
The infotainment on the Mazda 3 is ridiculous and outdated, touchscreen please it's 2023 not 2010........
@@crow_2k11beatsbydre8Touchscreen? Must be a Gen z. Nobody cares about touchscreens, they suck, but they do care about working transmissions.

Nissan were is our Spec V Sentra. Easy all we need is the VQ35de and limited slip, 6 speed. So easy for Nissan to do. They have the parts. Uhhh
No acceleration times and a "smile meter" that tells you nothing. Am I missing something?
Can we at least get a DIGITAL GAGE CLUSTER geez!!!
