I believe the "screen door effect" you're referring to on OLED displays is what's known as PWM (pulse width modulation). Lots of people have had issues with that due to causing eye strain and headaches.
No, it’s actually from the touch screen digitizer layer of the panel. PWM can also be a headache on some OLED’s for sure though, but what I’m referring to is specifically only on touchscreen OLED’s, they have this screen door effect issue. It almost looks like there’s a semi-transparent netting over the screen but only on bright/white backgrounds. It’s not a moving flicker, but more so a static element.
This is true, there’s a lot of TERRIBLE displays in the budget segment. It shouldn’t be like that. I get its budget but that’s nearly unacceptable these days.
I like the fact that you picked Lenovo legion for the IPS example, they are known for having one of the best if not the best IPS panel out there. This makes it a fair comparison, however if you have gone with acer nitro 5 or MSI GF this would have been hellarious
I use IPS and I'm ok with it, but I think the future is for Mini-LED. We just need a couple of more years to solve all the issues with dimming and to make Mini LED the standard.
Yep, it’s getting closer to perfect every year! I’ve heard the 2024 Scar 16 for example has 2,000 dimming zones and the blooming is already almost non-existent
Bought the g16 4080 and I freaking love it. Battery is great, oled screen and speaker are top notch. Also the screen isn’t wobble at all and fans are pretty quiet. It is the perfect laptop for me. Thank you for the detail review!
Best miniLED on laptop imo is Macbook pro but with vivid app installed which allows it to hit 1000nits full screen, Apple just does a great job with tuning of the dimming algorithms...
@@JoshCravesTech Yeah the 120hz doesn't feel like 120hz at times because of the response times. But other than that it is an amazing laptop. Better than my Omen 4080 I had before the MBP 2023
@@JoshCravesTech I mean, I think gaming on laptop can never be as good as pc. So in my opinion, there is no need to go for the lowest response time of a screen.
They managed to add VRR, this was something holding manufacturers back from using OLED for gaming laptops. And without a touchscreen you don't have the weird shimmer you mentioned.
Just purchased the new Blade 16 Mercury mini LED. These 2024 models do have local dimming. I haven't seen a single review of these panels yet. It'll be interesting to see the quality of these displays with local dimming both on and off.

I have the IPad Pro with mini led with its 1000 nits sustained and 1600 nits peek brightness it looks amazing and I hardly see any blooming I watch a lot of hdr content
Typically, yes. I’m not sure the exact science behind it to be honest but something to do with the individually lit pixels versus edge-lit uses more power, unless you’re viewing content that doesn’t light many pixels up
Hey man love your work, You make great content. The new strix scar 16 has over 2000 dimming zones, Is there a review coming up? I'm stuck between The new G16 with oled and the strix scar 16 mini led. Could you please guide me I'm kinda indecisive at this point. Is the difference between color quality of oled and mini led that much sigificant or are they almost the same? The brightness on mini led is a big factor and if the color quality is pretty much the same then mini led with 2000 dimming zones would be better?
Hello Josh, I know your past experience with legion laptops wasn't the best, and it's been a while since this generation was launched, but do you think you're gonna make any videos about legion laptops in future?
Yes I have a video coming on the Legion Pro 7i 2023, it’s pretty good! Still not my favorite but I don’t hate it. I actually loved the 2021 Legion 7 but never got around to making a video for it
Thank you for this video. You made it very clear for us but I still don't know which one has better response time between Ips and mini-led ? oled obviously has the best response time
I wonder how easy it is for those oled panels to burn-in. I really like oled panels in general as they're on my phone and my tablet. But tbh I mostly replace my phone and tablets within 2-3 years so I've never experienced the burn-in. Reason I'm asking is because I'm interested in getting those new Zephyrus G14/G16. With laptops and computers in general, I prefer to keep them for a longer time.
@@arandomfish9630 yes essentially every oled display will eventually suffer from burn-in, where certain colors or elements are retained on the screen. For a lot of people using it normally and following the necessary protocols to prevent it, they may never experience this for the life of the machine. But then again you can’t guarantee zero risk. Other people see burn-in after just a year or so.
@@JoshCravesTech yeah , I reckon the burning... its due to some chemical process? bc O in OLED stands for organic ? , i am assuming this problem is only with the oled screens right ? seems like mini led is the winner then
@@arandomfish9630 correct. I don’t know all the science behind it but yeah basically an organic sort of material that is susceptible to heat over time. Mini-LED is much more favorable in that regard.
how did you set the hot key "f4" to switch between single and multizone? Love the video and perfect timing with the recent 2024 laptop announcements. We need more content like this!
Thank you very much for another very detailed review, it is great that you took the time to compare with us the different displays, because on our screens it is difficult to see the individual difference from one type to the other, if not compared against each other. Both Asus are the best in my opinion, except the mini led has no long term issue, but the Razer at the brightness in the review, seemed aggressive to my level of acceptance, so much that I would prefer the Legion IPS panel instead, I know you will say you can lower the brightness, but just wanted to reply as what was seen in the review. Kudos for this review, again a very high quality review, I have a very high respect of your higher than standard reviews.
I had to return a Lenovo Yoga 9i because the blooming was so bad. Yes it gets bright for sure. My M3 Max Macbook Pro's miniLED display is about as close to OLED as you will get!
Yeah the Yoga’s mini-LED panel needs some work! Hopefully we get 2,000+ dimming zones at least for future laptops so that they’re close to MacBooks. And a good dimming algorithm makes a big difference!
@@JoshCravesTech Yes it's bad enough to make me hate it. TH-cam dark mode, for example looks like transparency mode is enabled with all the bleedthrough. Ugh
I was on the fence between Razer Blade 16 oled vs mini led. And alot of other videos would probably recommend the oled. Having used and tested both, I aree with Josh saying mini led and oled are equal in picture quality and mini led even pops more because its brighter. I would recommend blade 16 mini led for most conditions other than ideal dark rooms where oled is easier on eyes.
Amazing comparison man thanks a lot :D I wish could do the same test/ comparison with apples m1 macbook pro 14 and 16 from 2021 and also the m2 or m3 from 2023 to see if their mini-Led display have that problem or not ?
DAMN!..I just realized I'm researching miniLED for nothing cause it's only on the 4090 version of the G14 2023, which is 3200$. Now, there's the Lenovo YOGA Pro 9i with miniLED +4070+64RAM but it has an Intel chip and a battery life of like 1.5 hours. So, there aren't enough options out there for a combo of 4070+miniLED+AMD CPU+32-64GB RAM rigs with good battery life... And 2024 seem to force us all to buy OLEDs with all soldered RAM. What can we do, then?
@@MyThingsRedux But there's no availability, man. Also I don't need that dot matrix thing. Adds bulk. You can't find a non-dot matrix copy. I begin to consider the Lenovo Legion, and still looking for a laptop with a 64GB RAM option. Very scarce to find...
Amazing video Josh! Definitely the most useful video on this topic! What do you recommend, a yoga pro 9i with ultra core 9, 32gb ram, 3.2k 600nits mini-led touch, rtx 4060 (2300€) or Legion slim 7i glacier white with 13700h, 32gb ram, rtx 4060, 3.2k 400nits IPS screen (1550€) or a Asus Zephyrus G16 core ultra 9, 32gb , rtx 4060, 2.5k OLED 400nits (2400€). The Yoga is brand new with 3 years premium care warranty, while the Legion only has a one year warranty, and is from ebay, apparently had faulty ram which was repaired (checked repair ticket with lenovo) , the seller mentioned the faulty ram but claims the laptop was unused. The G16 is also brand new with a 2 year warranty. I would mainly use it for music production but like doing some color grading when I have the time. I don't game. I wanted something that was closest to a Windows Macbook Pro laptop. (good screen, build, good speakers, etc) I would love to know what your recommendation would be. Is the Yoga pro 9i/G16 worth 800€ more? (I still might have a chance to return the Yoga and buy the Legion if its still available, or get the G16) I absolutely love the design of the G16, but heard too many stories of people returning it because of the 3rd fan on the 4060/4070 models, so that's why I ordered the Yoga (and that mini-led). I need it to be quiet while recording in the studio, and the G16 has a high pitched whine even while web browsing. Some people apparently resolved the issue with G-helper, and/or BIOS updates, reinstalling windows. Some unfortunately still have the issue. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you and all the best!
Yeah I think the G16 is the best personally, as far as premium features - beautiful display, best speakers I've ever heard on a laptop, almost as thin as a macbook air and lighter than a macbook pro, just overall great. Keep in mind the Yoga fans kick in around 42C so even in Silent mode it will also have active fans, and I believe the Legion Slim 7i does as well. That's the beauty of G-Helper is being able to turn off that 3rd fan completely and delay when all the fans turn on. For most people I've seen it seems to work wonders doing that. The Slim 7i is a good deal though, wow. The display won't be quite as impressive, and the battery life won't be as great, but that price is kinda too good!! If budget is a concern at all, I'd probably pick the Slim 7i for that alone. You can't go wrong with any of these though, they're all very solid options for what you're doing.
Honestly, I would've went with the G16 for looks and premium feel alone. I think the Yoga does have the best display out of the bunch, but doesn't look as good as the G16. I listened to reviewers, mostly complaining about the third fan and very noisy fans constantly turned on (Just Josh), and he said it was unacceptable. That's why I wrote it off. But now that I hear that its resolved, I kind of regret buying the Yoga. And its such a hassle returning the Yoga here in Europe, since I'm getting it delivered to another country... The Legion is a beautiful machine, but since its been fiddled with, and opened up, I was reluctant in making the purchase. Even though it could be perfectly fine. I spent so much time trying to make the right decision, seen so many reviews, reddit posts... I also later found out that the speakers on the Yoga are not as good as I initially thought (a reviewer said in a review that they were better than the ones on the G16, but then 2 other reviewers said the opposite). Would making the fans not turn on on the G16 affect the longevity of the components and laptop since it would constantly be warmer than it should?
@@bartsimpson2131 turning the fans down/off would not affect longevity, you should be fine! The laptop is built to throttle to prevent any damage from heat. That’s actually hilarious that someone said the Yoga speakers were better 🤣 But yeah personally the G16 is the most premium laptop I think I’ve ever used, and I don’t think the fans would turn me away. They’re still much better in comparison to anything from Acer, MSI, and even some Legion laptops I’ve used.
People claim manufacturers are now confident about OLEDs to be releasing them on all new laptops in 2024. But, maybe all they care about is for them to work for only 2-3 years because then they burn-in + warranty is over + and it's "already time to upgrade to a new rig" by their terms....?
@@JoshCravesTech Man, I'm using After Effects..with a constant UI menu being idle in screen for hours each day. These brands are nuts! Problem is- it's just hard to find a fully fine system now. It's either high specs, yet crappy battery life (YOGA Pro 9i)....Or, it's lower capped specs with new solid chassis (2024 G14 limited to 32GB+4070...+OLED risk)... It's super tough to make a choice, man...
M2 macbook mini led is Good then? I want it to compare it to Omen transcend 14 oled 100% srgb adobe rgb 98% to Macbook m2 mini led Which screen do u think its better for watching stuff? Noone make this comparison so i dont know
@@Me-tp6ll yes, the MacBook mini-LED will be very similar to the ones shown here but with less blooming. However they’re known to have a bit of ghosting and worse response times on the MacBook which makes them bad for gaming.
I’ll think about it, thank you for the suggestion! But honestly all of these would absolutely be amazing for music production for years to come. Music production is mostly reliant on the CPU with some VST plugins needing a bit of GPU power to operate smoothly, so Intel will always have a slight advantage in most cases. But the second you unplug, then AMD has the advantage. So it really comes down to the other aspects of a laptop that you prefer to have such as portability, battery life, display, keyboard/trackpad, etc.
So I wanted to get the new zephyrus g16 but I’m afraid of oled and how quickly it can burn in, I take care of my stuff but it would sit in my head all the time - maybe lower brightness, maybe do this and that ….. I could probably get away with IPS version but that might be very bad, bleeding etc I could maybe find a miniled of zephyrus m16 but the form factor of g16 is amazing, so are speakers - that’s what I heard. Tough choice. There’s also new Lenovo yoga with miniled but their charging port is faulty, also Razer blade 16 2023 but there is not many service centre providers in Europe. :/ tough.
Have you looked into the Flow X16? I have a review on the channel. And yeah the Zephyrus M16’s display is also awesome being mini-LED. Also an amazing laptop. I think you can easily get 4-5 years out of OLED with just the basic care, but that’s the thing, it’s just that you can’t guarantee it. So I understand the concern.
@@JoshCravesTech thanks I appreciate ur reply Maybe I’ll find a compromise and get the new yoga 9i pro or something but so far I haven’t noticed any vents on this laptop and I’m a gamer. I'm waiting to replace my 5 year old Zephyrus with any future model with mini or micro LED tech. I just can't get past the pixel degradation of OLED since I typically try to keep my laptops for 5 plus years. If the new 2024 G16 had mini led hdr nebula, I probably would have bought one... (If it had 32 gb ram anyway.). Maybe next year will see a new M16 model worth looking at.

Yes, most miniLED and OLED laptops use PWM for controlling brightness. The PWM frequency on the mini-LED laptops shown are MUCH higher than the range of being noticeable, so even people who are sensitive to it would likely not notice. However you have to be careful with some OLED laptops. A lot of people love the Legion Slim 14” OLED for example, but it has a low PWM frequency of only 240Hz which will definitely be noticeable and may hurt your eyes.
Thank you for the answer..that is, on miniled?how is there no pwm on ips approximately like on ips 1_2%??? Or how many% are onoled??? A flicker?Shim? I can't really look at it like on an amoled phone screen... Please tell me on the mini led how is the ips very small%?pwm1_2%?or is it like on amoled or oled? Or %!!!?is it more than 1-2%???thank you if I still misunderstood your answer a little.Thank you
I think Oled will be the best in a dimmed condition the perfect black and no blooming. In the other hand, Mini-LED will be the best for a brighter condition, with that high brightness and still has perfect black, plus we won't able to see the blooming that much on that condition

modern Ips laptop panels such as the 240fps gsync models are very good with colors, and response time but the black levels without local dimming are atrocious, and the same is factual for lcd led panels without local dimming as it’s very difficult to enjoy darker games on those panels….. I think mini led with local dimming is the best of the best cause you get inky oled type blacks with higher brightness and no risk of burn in…..

@@Alm8hoorOW I am just going to the website I started watching this show called Neon Genesis Evangelion and the scenes that are dark look washed out and it doesn't look good at all but when I turn off HDR on the display settings the same show looks good again.

I wouldn't worry too much about burn-in. Modern OLED displays are so much better at burn-in resistance than older panels. But yeah if you see yourself using the touchscreen a lot then I'd go for the Flow. But if you want good speakers, better battery life, and a thinner metal design then go G16. I'd personally probably pick the G16 at this point but both laptops are absolutely awesome and I'd be happy with either one.

For sure. I have the legion 9i it’s not 4k but 3200x2000. I can see the differences very easy from 1600p. I like running dlss on quality and it looks great. I like it better then native 1600p.
Did your Blade 16 come with an AUO or BOE panel? Had to return the Blade 16 with BOE MiniLED as it looked horrible on dark backgrounds. It had lots of blooming and random shadows across the screen. However, those that use light mode and white backgrounds only won't experience those issues. Gonna be getting an OLED model instead.
One big thing ignored in this video is battery consumption with each of these display technology. I am sure IPS would win hands down if that criterea goes into play.
Ehhh.. while mini-LED does use a bit more battery, the difference can be small, especially if you’re in dark mode. And same with OLED. The 2024 G14 and G16 are proving to be extremely efficient and giving equal, if not better battery life than their previous models

Considering how MacBooks have moved to mini-LED, I’d say that’s the future for sure. Like I show in the video, you can always turn the dimming algorithm off on Asus laptops and it becomes just a really bright, accurate, and punchy IPS panel. Good comparison. You should also compare MiniLED monitors vs OLED monitors
Thats a sub. High quality content.
Thank you!! 🙏
Hi I just found out about your super review channel. Excellent work!
I wanted to buy Zephyrus m16 but after watching your review I knew it wasn’t made for me.
Could you also make a review for ROG Strix G16? I’m really curious about that machine. Tnx.
Please do a performance and temperature test if you end up adding liquid metal to the gpu and cpu of the zephyrus g14 with the scar 16 vbios. I can't get enough of this! Thanks!
What an underrated video and creator. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I have the IPad Pro with mini led with its 1000 nits sustained and 1600 nits peek brightness it looks amazing and I hardly see any blooming I watch a lot of hdr content
The first video that made me see clearly, thanks!
No problem! Thanks for watching
What an amazing video. Thank you, Josh. Really mean it.
thanks for watching!
Blade 16 what a beast 😢
Well done. I would love to see these outside, where I sometimes bring my laptop.
If you go outside you really cant use an ips or oled, 1000 nits also helps
Hello, what about battery life?
Oled have improved a lot in recent years, is battery life still worse compared to ips?
I actually loved the 2021 Legion 7 but never got around to making a video for it
@@JoshCravesTech Okay, will definitely be looking forward to that (I'm a legion fan boy🥴) hope it's looonggg😂
@@JoshCravesTech You still cooking that video? 😉
I am definitely going with zephyrus g14
I think mini-LED plus HDR1000 in 2K view is the best for gaming, but in near future OLED monitor options will soon become more logical.
I’m more in line with this opinion as well!
Thank you for this video. You made it very clear for us
but I still don't know which one has better response time between Ips and mini-led ?
oled obviously has the best response time
The difference in response time is identical typically
@joshcravey9728 ok thank you again
16:38 , what do you mean by burning? Means my oled laptop screen will lose its colours/vibrance after few years ??
Btw ,insane video
Watch my video on G-Helper for that!
Thank you so much! I do think mini-LED could be nearly blinding for some people so yeah that’s fair, lol 🤣
Ugh
Man, just a few years ago people were all comparing IPS to VA and TN. Now IPS is no longer the most desired panel for image quality.
So true
I was on the fence between Razer Blade 16 oled vs mini led. And alot of other videos would probably recommend the oled. Having used and tested both, I aree with Josh saying mini led and oled are equal in picture quality and mini led even pops more because its brighter. I would recommend blade 16 mini led for most conditions other than ideal dark rooms where oled is easier on eyes.
1000%
Amazing comparison man thanks a lot :D
I wish could do the same test/ comparison with apples m1 macbook pro 14 and 16 from 2021 and also the m2 or m3 from 2023 to see if their mini-Led display have that problem or not ?
The high brightness on the mini-LED screens should make it better for outdoor use.
Wait for a price drop on the 4090 model. In UK the 2022 Razer Blade 14 3080ti went from £3500 at launch to £1500 today.
@@eladbari I think the G14 with the 4090 doesn't have the dot-matrix. The mini-led takes up the space instead.
Great video, thank you
No problem!!
(good screen, build, good speakers, etc)
I would love to know what your recommendation would be. Is the Yoga pro 9i/G16 worth 800€ more?
(I still might have a chance to return the Yoga and buy the Legion if its still available, or get the G16)
I absolutely love the design of the G16, but heard too many stories of people returning it because of the 3rd fan on the 4060/4070 models, so that's why I ordered the Yoga (and that mini-led).
That’s actually hilarious that someone said the Yoga speakers were better 🤣
But yeah personally the G16 is the most premium laptop I think I’ve ever used, and I don’t think the fans would turn me away.
Yep, I’ve had this thought as well. It’s hard to 100% trust it!
I want it to compare it to Omen transcend 14 oled 100% srgb adobe rgb 98% to Macbook m2 mini led
Which screen do u think its better for watching stuff? Noone make this comparison so i dont know
@@Me-tp6ll yes, the MacBook mini-LED will be very similar to the ones shown here but with less blooming. However they’re known to have a bit of ghosting and worse response times on the MacBook which makes them bad for gaming.
can you do an in depth review on the best laptop strictly for music production?!
Hey I would go for the Asus Zephryus duo 16’ for music production with the 2 screens.
can you do an in depth video on the best laptops strictly for music production?
@@JoshCravesTech thanks I appreciate ur reply
Maybe I’ll find a compromise and get the new yoga 9i pro or something but so far I haven’t noticed any vents on this laptop and I’m a gamer. (Mostly league of legends , Smite) nothing extraordinary. :) also love a good speakers. My y540 legion has them facing downwards so they ain’t amazing.
@@michaozga7825 yeah not too bad either. Hope you enjoy whatever you decide on!
Please tell me if there is any information about PWM modulation on miniled?I have a very big problem with this, I can't even tolerate Pwm ((modulation...Do you know how the mini led works with this?I can't find anywhere for PWM information .Maybe tell me please? Thanks again for your channel!Very cool!
Pwm is actually very harmful...he not only spoils his eyes, but also his head and brains...I am very sensitive to the flicker of Pwm Modulation...therefore, nemon has nowhere to find.and PWM information on the mini led ?Not enough? Or %!!!?is it more than 1-2%???thank you if I still misunderstood your answer a little.Thank you
Thank you. I tested the yoga pro 9i ultra next to a samsung Galaxy 4 360. The Oled on the 360 was way better.
I am thinking about buying a laptop with a oled panel to replace my dim ips laptop
I could not stand the blooming and trailing/horizontal lines on my mini led display. I exchanged for OLED.
Hey Josh! Does disabling the multi-dimming zones on the Asus eliminate essentially make it display like an IPS panel without edge bleed/glow? Thanks!
Partially correct. The chances of bleed/glow are typically a bit slimmer on mini-LED panels, but in single-zone mode you may still spot some bleed.
Where could I find that g14 with miniLED now? I cant find them anywhere
Well done!! Thank you
I think Oled will be the best in a dimmed condition the perfect black and no blooming. In the other hand, Mini-LED will be the best for a brighter condition, with that high brightness and still has perfect black, plus we won't able to see the blooming that much on that condition
Can you compare MiniLED laptop (such as lenovo slim 9i pro 16) to amoled (such as samsung GB3)

I swapped the IPS Display of Lenovo Legion Pro 7 to Mini LEd with 2048 Dimming Zones.
Ok that sounds awesome. How is it?
Went with the Legion Pro 7i mainly for cost. Received the 4090, 32gb Ram, and 2TB SSD for $2,450+tax.
Yeah I see it go on sale for good prices every now and then, so it gives a lot of performance for the price!
modern Ips laptop panels such as the 240fps gsync models are very good with colors, and response time but the black levels without local dimming are atrocious, and the same is factual for lcd led panels without local dimming as it’s very difficult to enjoy darker games on those panels….. I think mini led with local dimming is the best of the best cause you get inky oled type blacks with higher brightness and no risk of burn in…..
i love ips colours but blacks are grey, have m32u great ips monitor.of course qd oled is the best except brightness.
@@ozgurkuzu2202 the blacks are actually very inky unless it’s a dark scene in the game then yes the blacks are not good with grey glowing and loss of details with ips panels but aside from that the panel is quite awesome

Hi Josh, so I have the Asus G14 4090 with the mini LED display and I noticed when I watch certain shows on Netflix the content looks fuzzy and pixilated when the HDR is turned on but if I toggle off HDR the content looks nice and crisp is there anything on the settings I need to adjust to make things look better?
Are you using the application or the website? Make sure it says “Dolby vision” when you start the show or else you’ll be watching SDR content in windows “Auto HDR” mode which can be a hit or miss.
@@Alm8hoorOW I am just going to the website I started watching this show called Neon Genesis Evangelion and the scenes that are dark look washed out and it doesn't look good at all but when I turn off HDR on the display settings the same show looks good again.
@@edwincuret2289 , that show isn’t even in HDR format.
Only shows with the “Dolby Vision” logo can be viewed in native HDR on your laptop. You also have to make sure you see the logo appear when you start viewing the media or else you’ll be streaming SDR instead. If it doesn’t, make sure your Netflix subscription plan includes HDR. I would also use the application on windows store as I personally had issues running HDR on Netflix using a browser.

G16 4060 with AMD Ryzen 9 AI
Or
Rog Flow X16 4070 with Core I9
I really want the touch screen in the Flow but the laptop drains too much battery. At the same time I want the OLED in G16 and the AMD but afraid of the burning. 😓

@@JoshCravesTech So is Razer, too
I just got the Blade 16 4090 last Friday, was thinking about returning and getting oled, if it was released at a higher resolution: but NO. Some people can't tell the difference between 4k and 2k on a 16-inch panel, but I surely can.
your 4090 can tell the difference too
@@TechGuyBI thought they are all BOE now. Blade 16 with that 240hz oled panel is tempting me.

IPS or mini-LED. OLED will usually have slightly fuzzier text with some possible fringing depending on the panel.
@@JoshCravesTech yes / agree 💯
One big thing ignored in this video is battery consumption with each of these display technology. I am sure IPS would win hands down if that criterea goes into play.
Ehhh.. while mini-LED does use a bit more battery, the difference can be small, especially if you’re in dark mode. And same with OLED. The 2024 G14 and G16 are proving to be extremely efficient and giving equal, if not better battery life than their previous models

Hi, can anyone help a non-tech person to choose the best display panel for photoshop on a Windows laptop please? I'm using an old HP Omen 17.3inch LCD IPS laptop at the moment but I need to buy a new laptop 17.3inch or above. The variety of screens is baffling me, I'm quite happy with the IPS LCD one that I have. So there's a lot of LED screens around now, some are QHD some are FHD, I've seen demonstrations on TH-cam of blooming with LED panels which puts me off. I can't afford an OLED anyway. Anyone help please?
Considering how MacBooks have moved to mini-LED, I’d say that’s the future for sure. Like I show in the video, you can always turn the dimming algorithm off on Asus laptops and it becomes just a really bright, accurate, and punchy IPS panel. I have an OLED external monitor that I will use as a reference for black levels when I use Photoshop/Premiere Pro, but it’s not that necessary to do.
Loving your video! Wanna collabs?
Thanks for making this video and making things clear. May god bless you !!
I recommend buy a IPs only because it cost less and then buy a monitor with oled 4K it will be less than the oled laptop
