I liked that you didn't just take the salesman's word but quietly tried things out like the bath height and the bow doors for beaching. Whoever has bought the model may find November Gales on Lake Michigan to be their favorite adrenaline shot. I'd pay to go out in ship-sinking weather aboard this boat.
I'd like to outfit a 50 ft. The video showed 38 foot 😮 so adding 12 foot could open things up.

Wow, I have never seen a boat like this one before. Very thoughtfully and well designed. At first I felt a bit worried about the Aluminium but he clarified about the thickness.

Once I saw the pic, I knew what it was. Yes, it is bad-ass. Pre/post mod of it are used for LEO/A's and Mil. Power, mobility, comfort and unsinkable. $$$'s for your fun/safety...is a yes! It reminds me of what off-roaders do, to get in/out of bad situations and not really worry.

I love these aluminum boats. I wish they'd paint the interior to not look so much like a 1980's sci-fi starship.
They actually do. This one was painted the color the client wanted. But they’re custom so you can get any color. And it’s one of the most expensive parts of the boat build.

We have a lot of boats like that in alaska. Great for hunting in remote places. They are awesome boats. Pretty spendie.

I believe this one was engines and lithium bank. I’d personally take a generator though. 🤙

The boat is customizable so I’m sure the guys over at lifeproof can make a fly bridge! And I think I remember them saying it’s a 60+ boat with the twin 600’s! 🤙
You can find the best boat at any show as long as you're happy w/it, fits your needs & most important have the bucks to pay, insure, maintain, fuel it so you might be able to go out once a year instead of looking at it moored at the slip !

I didn’t know uscg used metal shark. Lifeproof has done a few local fire, police and Fwc boats here in south Florida.🤙

I don’t think they have dealers tbh. They’re a mom and pop shop. But I know they have boats all over Florida. You might be able to give them a call and they can get you in contact with someone who has one or a department that uses them. 🤙

What is the boat model and brand?
Life proof pleasure craft cabin model
Did you get any sense of how long the tubes last, how long they're warrantied for, or repair methodology/cost? You get about 10 years out of a typical RIB (assuming actual use, and not sitting on a trailer in your garage).
The only drawback I see to this platform is having to spend $30k every 10 years to replace the UV damaged tubes.
No we didn’t. I don’t know much about rib boats as I should I’m still learning. So I didn’t ask that. Here’s some info I got off their site though.
FAST (Foam Air Stabilized Technologies) collar systems and components are warranted as follows:
Interior foam is warranted against manufacturing defects for lifetime of ownership. Non transferable. ·
Outer collar membrane is warranted for 5 years from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects. Specifically excluded is damage due to abrasion or puncture.
Interior air bladders are warranted for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects. Specifically excluded is damage caused from high impact or over pressurizing.
Where is the livewell? LOL any boat I would own has to have a live well and a fish boxes.
Me too! But I don’t think this one was customized for fishing. It did have storage/ fish boxes on the floor. 🤙

lol, that’s a great boat for a show but looks like a maintenance nightmare. Remember the mil & le are spending tax dollars on these and maint and those unlimited funds are hard to duplicate.

True, labor is the biggest contributing cost factor in building boats today. But you might sacrifice quality going over the border. I personally like they’re built here and people can make careers out of working for this one company. 🤙

Not sure but that’s a good question. Probably depends on the exposure to the elements and if it gets beat up too much banging into things. 🤙

The material is super tuff and virtually water proof and chemical proof. It's what every boat manufacturer should be putting into their boats for flotation. You would have to do some impressive banging into things to ruin them.
The boats are also self bailing and under the floors are stuffed with the same foam material. Enough to float the boat without the collars. . Micah helped me out with a very small project. Got a quick tour. Lots of skilled craftsmen work there.
The boats are expensive but they are providing well paying skilled positions for a lot of folks.

😂 I thought about why that is and my theory is 1. the build process needing specific temperatures for things resins and epoxies to cure. 2. Availability of those supplies vs aluminum in those areas.

With that front cut away for an entrance walk, it seems to be very close to the water, it looks like if you have even mild waves, the water is all coming into your boat through that front walk way, and your going to submarine the boat with large waves, so this boat looks to be self sinking, perhaps that's why they put so much foam in the hull of the boat.🤔🧐🤔
That cut away folds up from what I understand. If you were to take waves over the bow the water wouldn’t go anywhere else but that bow area because the boat does not have a walk around. It would hit the windshield and roll off. 🤙
Well it is self bailing if you ever get that much water in it. and there is enough foam under the floor to float the boat without the collars on. The foam does not absorb water or chemicals unlike spray in foams.

What about gas price running this big outboards? In norway we must work one hour pr 15 liter gas. 2 $ cost for 1 liter. One of the richest countrys in the world they say. Guess not😢

Sides actually aren’t inflatable. It’s a type of foam that makes the boat virtually unsinkable. 🤙
