You know I'm a RIB man. Very excited about reviews on RIB's. People only think of dinghy's with 50hp motors when discussing RIB's. Thanks for representing RIB's brother...
OMG. I love this boat. So cool and so amazing. $560K w/o power is kinda steep though. With the 10 year warranty, it actually makes it worth it. Great show guys.
Greetings are here again from Indonesian seniors, thank you for the information about shipbuilding and all the advantages that are made and the advanced features on this ship
nice colour!! Made in Greece absolutely stunning boat ,they made this year rov one for military and they planning bigger models aswell..here in Greece they call them Ironing board cause makes everything flat lol .
Impressive that you got a tour on this one. Military tactics. Wow. Your passion for boats shows in each video content. Can’t wait to see your next video and project on the water ❤. Cheers 🥂 thank you for sharing your passion with all of us. 😊.
The real deal: measured with up to 18 accelerometers attached on the pilot a Rafnar hull experienced 2 to 5.5 times less G forces compared to standard issue same length US Coast Guard RIB personnel. At worst 8G on the normal RIB, about 3G on Rafnar at most. That is a big difference in mission safety and comfort.
Very interesting boat and I can certainly see it's application to military and search and rescue not sure about civilian pleasure use great ideas though for the base hull platforms potential pleasure conversion.
Would love your review on the jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 Series 2 if you come across it. We are in the market for a sub 300k cabin and your videos have been incredibly helpful!
Thanks so much! We thought it was amazing too! Not sure what it’s rated for but I can’t see how it would be rated any less than the top of any rating. 🤙
It would make me proud ! . But why not build in Holland? 🇳🇱 We have all the skills and a treachrous North Sea all gruesome wetherconditions one can think of....
Not sure, I know it was in design for a few years and that was based off a fiberglass hull. I’m sure that building it out of aluminum would be a whole different type of engineering. 🤙
These are indeed used by militaries in several countries (i.e. Greek coast guard, Israeli special forces etc.). Are they going to have a military use in the US armed forces or are these going to be distributed for recreational use only in the USA?
Do the boats flip back over while you’re in the water then proceed to drive away from you while you’re stranded in the middle of the water? Sure hope the coast guard knows how to chase ghost boats!
That headliner will make it all of 1 season in a hot climate. New company, they’ll learn. That material is not feasible for life on the water, and the application method isn’t either, a spray adhesive on the ceiling of a boat that’s going to be in direct sunlight for the boats entire life. Not a chance.
Not that I'd want suede in my boat, but I'd disagree a bit on your statement. Car companies have been making suede/alcantara dashes and steering wheels for years. If those hold up in phoenix then there is a way to make it work. No idea how they've secured it in this application but it's possible they did the research.
@@timlong1462 I disagree entirely. What they’ve done on this boat is more akin to taking that alcantara and applying it directly to the bare metal of the roof of a car. If you’ve ever worked on cars or removed a headliner, there’s 1 an air gap, and 2 the premium material is applied to a separate material usually a combination of plastic and foam, so the premium material is several layers removed from the brunt of the solar energy. In a car it’s bare metal>air gap>headliner>premium material. That’s not what this is and frankly it’s not even close, it will fail and upon further inspection; it appears to already be having uniformity issues. What you’re saying with a steering wheel is not the same, that’s no different than putting a suede shoe in a hot car and leaving it, its not going to ruin it completely but it will age quicker than not obviously. There’s no heat source underneath the alcantara, it’s stitched onto a steering wheel, basically it’s an inanimate object, it might as well be a handbag that’s left permanently in the back seat of a car, that argument is more about the heat resistance and overall durability of the material itself, rather than the method in which it was applied. Considering on this boat they put the material on the roof and the side pillars, we should consider the roof and the side pillars of a car and the methods which are used, not a steering wheel or a shift nob or a shoe; and universally across the board it’s going to be several layers removed from the direct heat source, whether it’s alcantara or cheap generic fabric roof liner. What they have done is used a spray adhesive or maybe a roll on application and then attached the suede material directly to the part of the boat which will experience the most thermal energy of any part of the boat, it’s a direct connection, no buffer, no air gap, no layers in between, it will fail and from the looks of it it’s already started to.

Hello , Have you asked the question if it was possible to build a Rafnar in aluminum?
Not sure, I know it was in design for a few years and that was based off a fiberglass hull. I’m sure that building it out of aluminum would be a whole different type of engineering. 🤙
Its being worked on, first aluminum boat was just shown at a US boat show
These are indeed used by militaries in several countries (i.e. Greek coast guard, Israeli special forces etc.). Are they going to have a military use in the US armed forces or are these going to be distributed for recreational use only in the USA?
If I recall correctly, recreational for now and trying to get into the armed forces field. 🤙
Do you know if seats and cabin are heated?
Don’t know about the seats but the cabin can be.
These are Greek Rafnar boats, right? Because I read the "USA" in the title and got confused.
Yes that’s correct. Their website is rafnarusa.com

put the backpack down... like a lil school boy🤣
You should go back to school with that grammar. 🤣
So basically Rafnar has created a boat with huge amounts of drag... must not be very fuel economic
There’s nothing basic about this boat and the 15 million spent on R&D to design it.
Their keel is a stolen idea from Shannon boat philosophy of how to have a bottom that doesn’t bounce much!!They have modified it for a planing hull
Will not pound? Id love to test that theory i think any boat in the right conditions would pound.
