    I received my new watch today. I opted for the blue band and I am very impressed with it. I’ve always been a fan of the frogman but always wanted an analog version. The connected app works very well with this watch. A great piece of kit. I am looking forward to taking it on a dive next weekend.

    Thanks again Doug. I'm increasingly intrigued by this new Frogman and may have to place an order.... Great video. I love the G-Shock Connected app and the nuances based on the different watches it supports - a great invention by Casio.

      This is one of the first times I have really seen a great final product ready for release. This has worked so well with every G-Shock watch I have had that works with it. And now with H-1000 allowing firmware updates on the watch, this is only going to keep getting better form here.

    Great video and tutorial. I got my blue version and wow, what great solid watch! I was able to use the app and go trough all the functions, your video helped a lot, thanks! Question, unlike the digital G Shocks that have the hourly chime (totally love that feature) Does this watch has it or they went away with it? I just don’t hear it and couldn’t find a way to enable it on the app.

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Roderick, its a feature I always love having when its available and miss when it isn't. I wish they would have it available on all watches.

      @@DougFNJ Thanks for your reply mate, and yes, I totally love that feature on G Shocks, it’s a shame it’s not present on this one. My relative bought this same watch and had to return it back for a weird issue with the lower right button (the one you press 2.5 seconds to connect to the app), he fully charged it, pressed several times, even called Casio tech support and couldn’t fix it. Button worked with other functions but the bluetooth setting seemed like it was missing or defective. Bad module perhaps? He had to return it back for a refund. It’s weird because I never had any issues before with G Shocks. My Frogman is working fine though.

    Hi Dough, my dad gave me his frogman GWF A1000 couple years ago, I had no problem connecting it before, but my phone that was connected to my watch was actually lost in vacation it's been quite some time till i start using my frogman again, and I notice that the time wasn't right, so i tried to connect it to my new phone and it's somehow not working. Can you help me with this problem?

    Great video, thinking about this watch. Is there anywhere to see a list of the tides from the Connected App? The button is not highlighted, since I don't have a watch to connect. Specifically looking for the Jupiter, FL. (north Palm Beach)
    area

    Hi Doug, great video as always. The thing I’m noticing with this module is that it’s always connected to your phone once it’s paired. You have to stop moving the watch for the Bluetooth connection to disconnect. I’m worrying for the battery life since I only have the watch for 2 days now. Also the iPhone may suffer in battery life ? Don’t know. What are your thoughts about this?

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Miguel. The great thing about the connected app and the watches is you do not have to keep it connected. Once you are done with the settings and anything you need to complete, you could disconnect. There is no need to keep it connected full time, and the app should disconnect it automatically, only connecting by itself to update the time at the intervals you choose.

    • @Miguel-cq1ms
      @Miguel-cq1ms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DougFNJ yes, but with this module in particular it’s always connected. It disconnects itself if you don’t move or use the watch for 1 hour approx. then it connects automatically again. There’s no option to disconnect it manually unless you unpair it. Neither on the iPhone through the Bluetooth settings, no option to disconnect the device. I haven’t noticed any battery draining yet, it’s only that I’d like to keep things manually controlled as much as I can. Cheers.

    • @ajkrystal79
      @ajkrystal79 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Miguel-cq1ms NO it’s not always connected…You can connect it one time and set it up and never have to connect again. If it had to always be connected to a phone, how will it work if you are diving? It disconnects silly.

    • @Miguel-cq1ms
      @Miguel-cq1ms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajkrystal79 silly but it is. It is always connected, although it disconnects itself if you don’t move the watch for one hour or at night. So, it is always connected. Same as the new mtg b2000 module.

    • @ajkrystal79
      @ajkrystal79 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Miguel-cq1ms it’s Not always connected. You can disconnect it by totally disconnecting it from the app or closing the app completely. You don’t need the app after you set it up the first time unless you like to fix some settings on it. So No, it doesn’t always have to be connected. Stop spreading false information about the watch. Do you even have it?

    Question for you, when in the tide graph mode, I believe, the dual time zone dial should read/show the time of the port selected in the app. Is that what you are seeing? I can't get the dual time zone dial/hands to read the correct time in the selected port. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I'm getting the confirmation on the app that the setting was successfully sent to the watch?

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am thinking the main time should be the time selected for the port as that is where you primarily are. Have you tried reversing the 2 time zones? What are you seeing the Tide Graph do?

    • @ansont1824
      @ansont1824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DougFNJ the tide graph dial itself seems to be operating ok, but the subdial that also reads the world time doesn't appear to be registering the correct time when in tide graph mode, the manual says that the subdial should register the current time of the tide port selected on the app.

    It’s a pointless poseurs piece IMO, as a diver you need to know 2 things, your depth and your time, as this watch doesn’t show your depth, its as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

    • @DougFNJ
      @DougFNJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great point. Here's the great thing. You don't like Analog Frogman, there are plenty of versions with digital. You want a depth meter? They have a version. Want just solar? No solar? Plenty of options.

    • @MarkN67
      @MarkN67 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Andrew Lester That’s not the point. I’d rather have a watch that’s rated past my depth rating and I’m licensed to dive to 100m on open scuba. If you’re selling a dive watch that gives the user information about the dive why not include a depth gauge? It’s no more useful than any other watch in the G-Shock range because it only tells the time underwater.

    • @andresmiguel2573
      @andresmiguel2573 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mate you don’t use your Frogman to measure your depth, as you have other diving instruments for that I.e. it’s not required for Frogman.
