    When the M50 first came out, I was looking to change from my 600D + Tamron 18-270. Shop tried to flog me an M50. The particular guy (now gone from the shop) was a product flogger and not a need matching guy. He didn't listen to me and what I wanted and why. Probably because he could not pair it with similar lens. I waited and I'm glad I did. Now have RP + RF24-240 AND R50 + RF100-400. The M50 would have been a waste of time and money.
    Canon have been a bit slow on RF-S lenses. I overcame that by going RP and then getting RF 100-400 (full frame). I can interchange but have not. That's now changing. Canon and Sigma both coming out with some good RF-S.

    Hey! So I hate to be that guy, but there are some pretty big inaccuracies in this video. 1. the canon made EF-RF adapter not only allows auto focus for EF lenses, but in some cases they work better than they did on EF cameras. Use third party adapters at your own risk. the canon made adapter is $100. 2. Sigma made lenses for the EF-m mount

    • @pricklypearcamera
      @pricklypearcamera  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey #reachfilms, 1.) Fair point, have not tested the ef-rf Canon adapter, but did have autofocus issues with the canon branded EF-EOS M adapter utilizing canon EF lenses 2.) Good callout- Sigma did make 3 EF-M mount lenses for the EF-M, a 16, 30 and 56mm, they run from $325-400, my bad on the omission.

      Issue is not only that those lenses are incompatible but new kit RF is worse them EFM and those big RF lenses are so expensive it cost like 3 or 4 times more than 1 EFM lens that's not normal for hobby entry level people ... not to mention there is more EFM lenses to choose from than from those cheaper RFs they made and on top of it cannon blocking 3rd party companies like sigma from making affordable lenses for RF mount well that's reason why not to upgrade ... those few upgrades what R50 offers are nice but everything else is wrong and against consumer who is taking video/photo on a hobby level
