I was i Catba in november 2019 and my day was almost Exactly the same. Did the same awesome scooter trip, and walked on tha same walkway, and had to backtrack to find lunch. Think it was the same restaurant too. A great reminder of the trip as I didn't take much photos. Oh, the Fort was also closed when I was there.

Wicked-cool landscape on the island with all of the foliage-covered rock formations! Wow! I like your exploration style of sight-seeing, rather than following a set plan to see all the "must-see" tourist attractions each day. That seems much more adventurous and fun.
Nothing wrong with doing a little touristy stuffs. Doing tourist stuffs has become a ‘dirty” word among travelers these days, like it’s not cool to do touristy stuffs.

So I dont have a licence since my licence was tied to my USA visa which I don't have anymore. So when we first came to south east asia we preferred that Carol would learn to ride the scooter because she at least has an international licence, we thought it would be best to stay on the right side of the law since we have never been to this region before lol. It turns out that many of the countries in south east asia dont even ask for a licence at all so I could ride i guess, but since Carol is now a pro on the scooter we just got used to her riding it and if we ever have an accident i guess we will be in less trouble since she has the licence :) Hope that makes sense

It sucks you lost your original drone you were using to film. Yeah, I like drones with WIFI connection as it doesn't face as much interference with other signals. Even so, you managed to get fantastic shots with the one you got in Vietnam!!! Great video, man!!! Thanks!!!
Great aerial shots with your new drone, the Mavic Air, which I see on Amazon you can get for $640, quite a bit less than what you paid on the road, but I guess you needed it sooner rather than later. Are you feeling more comfortable with it now or is the wifi aspect (as opposed to radio signal control) too limiting? I see the Mavic Pro starts at $850 and packages go up to $2K+ .... Since you are a drone expert maybe you could do a video on drones, costs, etc. (although others probably have including the manufacturers themselves). You've been to amazing spots to use a drone - have to have exciting things to film. I just watched another channel I subscribe to (Nick Johnson) of him driving through and doing a windshield survey of the urban devastation that is Detroit and Flint, Michigan - would have been interesting to see it from a drone's eye view - that's where it would be helpful to have a quieter drone like the Mavic Pro ... is the noise the Air makes a problem? Thanks for all your hard work that you make look easy.
Yeah couldnt get it any cheaper over there :( The connection is still a bit of an issue but got used to it now...If i could go back i would have probably just got the mavic pro again, less headaches while flying. The noise isn't too bad really now since i usually fly quite far away from people anyway
Yes and No...April in Southeast Asia becomes way to hot to want to do anything outdoors. It is the off season but a lot of back packers who are young will travel this time of year. Very uncomfortable time to be in any part of Southeast Asia. June to mid November is the beginning of the Monsoon season and gets very hot and humid. December to Mid March is the high season and is the best time to travel here. Cooler weather and very sunny.
This May, Hai Phong City will inaugurate the longest cross-sea cable car in the world, connecting the mainland Hai Phong City to Cat Ba Island. Hope you guys comeback soon !!!
Well I hope you are going to go to Phu Quok Island in the south, a great place to motor bike around the island. Amazing sea food and beaches too. A must see if your in Vietnam. You can take a flight from Saigon.
