      Btw, the temples are Vietnamese temples built by the the Viets. The architecture has Chinese influence like that of Japan. Vietnam was part of the Sinosphere culture long before Japan was. You would not call those in Japan as Chinese temples right?

    FYI: It's Vietnamese old script, not Chinese, in the temple and it called "Chữ Nôm"

    Hello guys! I have also been to Nihn Bihn with my husband. Also went to that dragon mountain in Hang Mua, also went for the boat trip into the caves, and Bich dong pagoda and we really loved it there we actually extended our stay little bit. We hoped to visit more of Vietnam when pandemic ends God-willing. ☘️But we were there in winter time, January-Feb. 🙂🙂🙂

    I watched many of your videos while shelter at home in Fremont, California. This video clip is amazing with spectacular mountain view and peaceful rivers.
    My favorite part is when my exotic chao mao (red-whiskered bulbul) were singing in the background (min. 13 at the temple).

    Great video! I felt like I got to revisit one of the favourite places I've travelled. I also rented a motorbike while there. I was mesmerized by the landscapes and all the temples. That hike up so hot & exhausting, I really pushed myself. I probably would not have done it if it was not such a special view. I'm out of shape & was 45 yrs old then, I thought I was going to die LOL

    Really cool video. I really love your commentary....no script, just natural reaction of a curious visitor. @15:50 Because for centuries, Chinese influence brought the Chinese system of writing. Only a few centuries ago, the modern system of Vietnamese writing, based on Roman alphabet was invented. In addition, Buddhist scripture and stuff were in Chinese and these temples were built centuries ago. @17:34 Ninh Binh was the capital of the kingdom that is now part of Vietnam. A lot was going here during that time, including building lots of temples.

    Chris - I believe the resort you and Carol had lunch at and wondered aloud what it would be like to stay there was the same one Gabriel Traveler (Gabriel Morris) stayed at 3 months before you when he toured Vietnam. See the link at the end of this comment where he shows viewers what the huts look like to stay in ... if you read the comments to his video a lot of people asked what crawled or slithered around through and under such a place at night ... (!) ... Gabriel has been in the youtube biz longer than you and has amassed 300K+ subscribers but at the same points in your careers you're doing fantastic so keep it up. Others have come to your channel through your comments on other vlogs ... Gabriel's is one vlog you should also follow ... he's more supportive of other vloggers, big & small, than any of the other 'big guys'. He'll mention other vloggers by name from time to time either in his videos or in responses to viewers' questions (he's only done one colab though, that I know of). He would do well to watch your Brazil videos = one place he hasn't been. th-cam.com/video/4V1uNaHgQ-s/w-d-xo.html

      Yeah been following Gabriel for ages now! He’s a legend, really like his style as it is very real and provides a lot of information. It is amazing that he has made a career out of TH-cam after all those decades of traveling and never really having much money, crazy!

    • @BillKing3456

      @@JumpingPlaces Very good, Chris - Gabriel is a good role model to follow. He has recently been able to upgrade where from usually staying in hostels to cheaper hotels and guest houses - for some reason, he's never warmed up to using Air BNB. But Gabe also doesn't have two things your channel has going for it - a super beautiful wife (inside and out) and a drone - you are top tier in both these categories. The more you include Carol in your videos, the better that makes them. You are a lucky guy. Gabriel and Nick Fisher (Indigo Traveler, with more than 400K subscribers) are members of a mutual admiration society and I also like them both. I'm putting you and Angela Vlogs (introduced by Gabriel in Thailand) up with these guys, although Angela has gotten less serious lately but still is interesting to watch as she and her boyfriend Andres, from Mexico, are a cute couple like you and Carol (I can name some not so cute couple travellers where I don't like one of them but I won't). Finally, I really like Harald Baldr whose channel has been the bomb lately (and his views per video has shot up through the roof) - he has had some kind of epiphany or something and now really engages with the locals on and off camera like no one else - it's become must-see video, when he travels - he takes breaks between intense travel periods. When he's with Bald & Bankrupt it's pretty funny too but Harald is better when he sort of spontaneously links up with another traveler like he recently did in the Philippines with an American guy named Chris and his wife. KK, back to steadily going through your whole catalog - it's pretty impressive how good you got so fast - you're probably a natural at this, a fast learner + really did your homework before u started your channel.

      Seem we have the same taste in vlogs :) I usually prefer the ones that keep it real and simple like the ones you mentioned :D Usually cant deal with the people putting on a show or being exaggerated all the time. I have watched many videos of gabriel traveler,indigo traveler,harald and bald and bankrupt. Harald and bald & bankrupt have been the ones killing it the most for sure on youtube with their unique style, pretty much everything is local interactions right and always very funny. I am not extrovert enough to be like that haha. Have you ever watched aaron explores or life of jord?

    • @BillKing3456
      @BillKing3456 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JumpingPlaces I've heard of both of them - will take a look. Yep - we do have the same taste. It gets me how you youtubers actually have the time to watch each others' videos - you all look well-rested but it must be cuttin' into your sack time. I forget how I came across your channel - I think it just popped up as a "Recommended for you" and after watching one of your videos, I was hooked! I foresee you getting more extroverted on camera over time - you kind of remind me of Sting from the Police, who I've met, and I think he's actually pretty introverted, until he gets on stage. Maybe I made that association cuz of your and Carol's singing on a couple of your vids - ha. But, seriously, keep that up, it's fun/funny & not enough other travel vloggers do that (in fact I can't think of any) & it's one of the endearing (if I can use that word) things about you and your bride that separate you guys from the crowd. Btw, I just dropped your name in a comment to Gabriel's most recent vid (his first one from Moldova) - just helpin' to get your name out there.

      @@JumpingPlaces Oh, and remembered I have tried Aaron Explores .... when we were going to Sarajevo, Bosnia (which is when I also discovered Gabriel, one of the few other vloggers to have gone there). I remember Aaron asking and then not answering whether Sarajevo was safe ... it turned out it was safe, while we were there, but Aaron left it hanging. It's a key question potential visitors want to know so it's good if you're going to address the subject ... to answer it .... One other difference I think is key between Aaron and a big subscriber youtuber like Gabriel is if you're a smaller subscriber youtuber don't assume someone watching is a long-time subscriber who has watched one or more of your previous videos - each video has to stand on its own. As Gabriel has said, most people who watch his videos, even as he's gotten bigger, aren't his subscribers .....
