This was very well done and I must say also very respectfully portrayed. Two of my Great Uncles were with the Australian 27th Battalion reinforcements that arrived at Gallipoli in September and October (they both survived, but one was later killed at Pozieres, Second Battle of the Somme, and the other at Passchendaele, Third Battle of Ypres). I also have a distant cousin who was part of the dawn landing at Gallipoli.

+Green Brick Productions Of course some were present together with a small number of German crews of MGs and guns aswell, but not big enough to show as whole force in movies.
arkboynk, nah mate, I arranged all sound effects as you hear them; basically a heap of simple sound effects, largely taken from the websites in the credits. I suppose it is possible that the gunshots I gathered are similar to those used by Peter Weir though.
just a correction for the part at 0:35 the allied soldiers didn't mean to land at the coast of Gallipoli im still researching as to where they wanted to go originally but it wasn't Gallipoli they were sailing the wrong direction as one of the officers had made a error with map readings and they landed on Gallipoli they were caught by surprise when they started to get fired upon by the Turkish coastline defence snipers and the war started from there

'we will remember them'
Tyler Xiong sorry that was my brother i apologise for the foul language he uses but yeah anyway its about the Kiwis and Aussies going to Gallipoli Cove to invade the turks and in the trench warfare against the germans on the front lines were very tragic wars of both countries and we all show respect on both sides of the war
Lol when your brother says he is talking about World War One I was talking to you about the World War 2 one as your uncle would have been apart of the army to have participated in D Day. ;)
I can say a really sad battle and a military blunder that haunted the big wigs in charge like Winston Churchill. Recreated beautifully also here's a battle that you may find interesting called Dien Bien Phu in 1954 lasted like 56 days and was a nightmare for the French. May look great with Legos.

G'day EpicExtreme Eddy from Sydney! Really glad you liked it! By the 'Henry Jones' hats do you mean the safari/pith hats? I actually don't have any Indiana Jones Lego; instead I took them from the old Lego Adventurers series and the later Orient Expedition series with Johnny Thunder who wears the slouch hats. I have about five or six of each type having bought several sets over the years. Hope that helps!
+Oyunkrallığı Antalya Yes, you're right, the Ottomans did win at Gallipoli. Hope this makes any sense :)
+Green Brick Productions now the Ottomans are friends with your nation us Turks forgive because we are kind people even if we killed your soldiers that was only to defend ourselves but we are still friends we wont attack you back we will allow you to live free but if you and the other nations gang up on us then for sure we will defend and attack back but were friends. :)
+Osmanli Sari there were many reasons why our nations clashed in World War. Whether justifiable or not, it's now a thing of the past; what remains today is the legacy of it all. +Star Studios Productions star Thanks mate! I appreciate your feedback :) I do hope to make a Somme animation some-time, I have at least written a screenplay for one... for which I would certainly use BrickArms!
Lukeepie from memory only 4 or 5 thousand... most of the shots I binned and reshot 3 or 4 more times so there'd be loads more I deleted... the joys of editing haha!!
I'm a teacher and just want to say great job - what program did you use to make this on your computer? I'd love for my students to have a go on their own films. Thanks!
Hi +Shawn Stone ! Thanks heaps, that's really encouraging! I used Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 12 for the editing and Gimp 2. You can use pretty well any video editing program though, depending on the type of work you want to put into it. There are heaps of brilliant TH-cam stop-motion Lego animation tutorials out there also which I recommend you check out if you're still keen.
Shawn Stone Before I bought the program I use now, I worked with Windows Movie Maker for Widows XP, which I began using when I was about 11, though I think this has been replaced with Windows Live Movie Maker, for later Windows versions. I reckon this would be good (pretty sure it's free)! Here's a link to a website rating the best free movie-making software in case you'd like to check it out: www.techradar.com/au/news/software/applications/best-free-video-editing-software-9-top-programs-you-should-download-1136264 If you do go for Windows Live MM, I recommend watching this tutorial which shows you the basics for a Lego stop-motion with it: th-cam.com/video/oWQ3Osz66eM/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps and I hope your class are able to have a go! I think it's an epic as idea! Give me a yelp if you'd like to know anything else and I'd be happy to send you my email if so too!
+Green Brick Productions Thanks for the reply -very helpful info. And for the stop motion capture - I played around with a software program called iKitmovie, but my class uses Macbook Airs - any recommendations to capture each frame etc? Sorry for all the questions, but I really appreciate all your help pointing me in the right direction.
+Shawn Stone, I don't know much about Macs, nor video editing software in general, though I've spent a couple hours researching online to investigate! I've found a good site listing a few 'free' programs for Mac: filmora.wondershare.com/video-editor/free-video-editing-software-mac.html?gclid=CLbm4s-omMgCFRCVvQoduasIyg ?---> The first, 'Filmora' (originally 'Wondershare Video Editor') seems like the best I could find, looking user-friendly (there's a good video for it at the bottom of the page). However, only the demo version is free and so leaves a watermark on all finished projects which may or may not essentially ruin the videos, but this would be worth looking into. The next is 'iMovie' which I believe you've got to pay for if it hasn't come with your Macs to begin with. No. 3 is 'Avidemux', seeming like a simplistic program but I think may not be user-friendly for stop-motion judging by the strange, horizontal scroll bar down the bottom instead of the classic video-media timeline where you see your imported images/video/sound/music all lined up to be edited. Without seeing the individual images while editing, I don't know how easy it would be for stop-motion animation, however I have seen it done on 'TH-cam'. You could have a brief look at these if you're interested to get an idea, but I'm hesitant about it: th-cam.com/video/fVDm7kTr4sM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/e4EiSlzJr-I/w-d-xo.html There is 'Zwei Stein' ('ZS4 Video Editor') which I believe is a very powerful program, although, challenging, technical and non-user-friendly to operate effectively. Maybe have a squiz at this if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/PXNz_7a59JI/w-d-xo.html There is also 'Hyper-Engine AV' but I was unable to find any good tutorials to get my head around this, and also 'Blender', which I doubt is be user-friendly. There's also this site which has more options: www.makeuseof.com/tag/top-6-free-video-editors-mac-os/ ?---> I haven't looked them all, so I'm unable to tell you much about them, however going off the picture, 'Kdenlive' seems to have potential. Perhaps this tutorial may be a good place to look: th-cam.com/video/Cj1OOTHdO6k/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps; sorry I haven't made this simple so I hope this doesn't put you off. If you do get a program, while stop-motion animation is time consuming and requires a good deal of patience (also remember to make frequent back-ups while editing or the program might crash with so many pictures) I think it is extremely rewarding! :) All the best! Feel free to ask more help!
I can’t remember the model, but it was an old Canon digital camera with a macro setting but no manual settings like the DSLRs which are much better for animation!
+Star Studios Productions star Thanks heaps, I'm glad you like it, means a lot! I hope to get some Brickarms for future videos, but for this one I didn't think any was needed as vanilla Lego provides fairly good uniform pieces and I only needed standard rifles :)
Star Studios Productions star They where Lego knives stuck to rifles with blu-tack... in hindsight, Brickarms' bayonet clips would be much better, but it worked generally pretty well.
+Star Studios Productions star, I used an old Cannon - not sure what exactly, but not DSLR or anything fancy. I plan on upgrading sometime but for starting out, anything is good as long as you can keep it steady.

Thanks, great video.
Brown hat is Anzac and white hat is Turk?
Hi m8, that's right in my Lego adaption... in real life both Turkish and Anzac hats were khaki and my Lego Turks are more like British soldiers.

Very well made film that brings honor to the ANZACs. May both ANZAC and Turks who perished at Gallipoli rest in eternal peace. Good job sir.

I have seen one of those boats from the beginning there are 2 left as the other ones were blown up or they sunk
They are pretty cool to see in person hey!
I'm thinking of making a Minecraft version but we need more actors and good voice actors
Crazybanana playsmc, best wishes then!
thanks
epic vid nice memorial statue I wish there were more Anzac stop motions
PS get some brick arms but everything else was awesome :)
epicawesome guy Thanks man! I prefer working with only official 'Lego'. The Gallipoli Turkish and ANZAC soldier uniforms in this video are fine anyway as both the Turkish and Australian slouch hats come from the 'Adventurers' series (for the New Zealander 'lemon-squeezer' hats I just angled them so you don't see the fold) (Will say, though, the Turkish hats would be better in tan colour). As for weapons, I'm pretty happy with standard Lego rifles rather than complex, detailed 'brick arms' ones. I may later get brick arms, though, for the tin British-style helmets the ANZACs were issued with as they moved on to the Western Front (France/Belgium). What do you think? I'd appreciate your thoughts!
How many frames? (Please answer)
Great trench warfare! Please do battle of the somme!
+Star Studios Productions star Thanks mate! I appreciate your feedback :) I do hope to make a Somme animation some-time, I have at least written a screenplay for one... for which I would certainly use BrickArms!
An amazing animation.
Hey! Thank you!
2021?
2024, I am back to it! Hope you enjoy future videos!
My school recommended this which is cool
That’s so awesome!
Where did ya get the Aussie folded hats?
H2O Hunter The slouch hats and Turkish pith helmets come from two old Lego series, 'Adventurers' and 'Orient Expedition' from probs 10-20yrs back ;)

How many frames (please answer)
+Green Brick Productions thanks for that - can you recommend any good programs for kids aged about 11 that are easy to use and freeware at all?
Shawn Stone Before I bought the program I use now, I worked with Windows Movie Maker for Widows XP, which I began using when I was about 11, though I think this has been replaced with Windows Live Movie Maker, for later Windows versions. I reckon this would be good (pretty sure it's free)!
Here's a link to a website rating the best free movie-making software in case you'd like to check it out:
www.techradar.com/au/news/software/applications/best-free-video-editing-software-9-top-programs-you-should-download-1136264
If you do go for Windows Live MM, I recommend watching this tutorial which shows you the basics for a Lego stop-motion with it:
th-cam.com/video/oWQ3Osz66eM/w-d-xo.html
I hope this helps and I hope your class are able to have a go!
I've found a good site listing a few 'free' programs for Mac:
filmora.wondershare.com/video-editor/free-video-editing-software-mac.html?gclid=CLbm4s-omMgCFRCVvQoduasIyg
?---> The first, 'Filmora' (originally 'Wondershare Video Editor') seems like the best I could find, looking user-friendly (there's a good video for it at the bottom of the page).
You could have a brief look at these if you're interested to get an idea, but I'm hesitant about it:
th-cam.com/video/fVDm7kTr4sM/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/e4EiSlzJr-I/w-d-xo.html
There is 'Zwei Stein' ('ZS4 Video Editor') which I believe is a very powerful program, although, challenging, technical and non-user-friendly to operate effectively. Maybe have a squiz at this if you're interested:
th-cam.com/video/PXNz_7a59JI/w-d-xo.html
There is also 'Hyper-Engine AV' but I was unable to find any good tutorials to get my head around this, and also 'Blender', which I doubt is be user-friendly.
There's also this site which has more options:
www.makeuseof.com/tag/top-6-free-video-editors-mac-os/
?---> I haven't looked them all, so I'm unable to tell you much about them, however going off the picture, 'Kdenlive' seems to have potential. Perhaps this tutorial may be a good place to look:
th-cam.com/video/Cj1OOTHdO6k/w-d-xo.html
I hope this helps; sorry I haven't made this simple so I hope this doesn't put you off. If you do get a program, while stop-motion animation is time consuming and requires a good deal of patience (also remember to make frequent back-ups while editing or the program might crash with so many pictures) I think it is extremely rewarding! :)
All the best! Feel free to ask more help!
my great great grandfather pounded the beaches on HMS triumph, as head gunnery officer, she was sunk by a jerry U boat
Dafyn Jones That's some great heritage to be proud of there! I'm sorry I haven't shown any of the Brits in this video.
That is awesome!
Thank you, Sandy Symonds! Means heaps!
I enjoyed this 👍.. what camera did u use if u don’t mind me askin?
I can’t remember the model, but it was an old Canon digital camera with a macro setting but no manual settings like the DSLRs which are much better for animation!
great vid by the way
This was very cute
Wow! You don't have any Brick arms you can still make a excellent world war 1 video!
+Star Studios Productions star Thanks heaps, I'm glad you like it, means a lot! I hope to get some Brickarms for future videos, but for this one I didn't think any was needed as vanilla Lego provides fairly good uniform pieces and I only needed standard rifles :)
+Green Brick Productions One question...... Howed you do the bayonetS?
Star Studios Productions star
They where Lego knives stuck to rifles with blu-tack... in hindsight, Brickarms' bayonet clips would be much better, but it worked generally pretty well.
Would i be able to use info on your video in my school project?
My great great granddad went to Anzac
That’s heritage to be proud of! Thanks for sharing!
Your video is amazing and I mean amazing 😮😮😮😮
Thanks heaps khanan787 ! Means a lot!

Green Brick Productions thats cool man i really liked the video though it was very emersive thanks for the vid. keep it up :)
Thank you :)
Where did you get the sound effects? I really want to know!!!
what camera did you use???
+Star Studios Productions star, I used an old Cannon - not sure what exactly, but not DSLR or anything fancy. I plan on upgrading sometime but for starting out, anything is good as long as you can keep it steady.
Is this WW2 or WW1 ?
