I remember playing as the VC in a public server(its fun to play as OPFOR sometimes), and everyone had taken ambush positions near the entrance to a town. An organized convoy consisting of 3 trucks and 2 tanks came near the entrance to the town and we all fired at once, taking them all by surprise. We took out half of the passengers from the trucks while the tanks couldn't figure out where we were because we were so well hidden and everywhere. When they got into the town, they were completely surrounded. VC who were hiding outside the town advanced onto new American positions inside the town in a pincer counterattack. We destroyed them and the tanks from all sides and in buildings. After the battle we fired all our guns in celebration. One of the few times I genuinely had fun.
My grandfather was a Captain in the South Vietnamese Army during The Vietnam War. He survived the war and moved to San Francisco in the early 1980s. My grandfather lived there until December 30, 2020 when he passed away from old age. I miss him a lot and in honor of him, I will join the US Military(Navy) as an Officer after college.

I miss the old maps, the tanks, old Vietnam uniform I think, and the guns but the funny thing is everyone would be able to fly jets helis, etc which was funny. It's quite sad not to see officers much anymore though I loved the time back then the fact that anyone can shoot the helis without being caught was annoying a little yet funny and tanks were just cool to see plus they OP and enemy jets back then but now is jets for the USA and I am pretty sure they changed both of its looks before the MiG was removed it plus you would even see officers doing tryouts in the game or BMT which made the game very active and everyone even the MPs were chill if u broke rules sometimes it's a shame I only was on that map 1 or 2 times.. god I miss everything back then
