I really love mine and having the FuelX Lite helps make some of the lower rpms more usable.

Greetings from Iceland thank you for excellent review of the 390, I downsized couple of years ago to the 2022 KTM 390 and it brought back the fun factor in adventure riding. Agree with you on the handlebars and foot pegs, waiting for modification parts on that issue.

I have the exact same bike, was hesitant to get the quick shifter because my stepfather’s 2020 was kind of clunky & temperamental…Asked my service manager about it, he offered me a deal I couldn’t refuse to switch it on, best thing I ever did to this bike. They definitely sorted it out, it’s just a smooth as smooth as the quick shifter on my 1200 GS…a must-have for max fun!

Didn't realize they'd made any refinements other than the wheels and traction control options, that's great to hear. I might need the quick shifter to help my sloppy shifting. :)

What did you say to get the good deal? I have been contemplating getting mine activated on my 23.

I switched over to Motul oil it helps a lot with finding neutral. Also after 1k miles she gets even smoother

I noticed the red shift bar on your TFT display is farther up the rpm range, this is because KTM wants the engine babied a little untill after the 600 mile service. You must have the service done at a dealership so they can take this limitation out of the engine control. Once the service is complete the engine will feel a whole lot better. the dealer is logged into KTM so this ensures the warranty is good. I have a '22 also, same color scheme as yours.

Yes, that is exactly what it is. That bar moves up after the service.

Actually, the break-in shift indicator at (6200rpm?) will automatically go away at 600 miles. No need for dealer service to clear it. But the 390 also has a user definable shift indicator, and I think it comes set at about 8,000 rpm. So when the break-in shift indicator clears itself, the user defined one appears. That flashing bar on the tach drove me nuts, so I turned it off in settings. I know when to shift.

The lack of neutral on my 22 drives me nuts. If I wasn't 3 hours away from a KTM dealer i would bring it back. I'm at about 900 miles and have tried a bunch of different adjustments. Owned 20+ bikes and this one is the worst at finding neutral by far. The condensation in the display is also a slight bummer. The foot pegs are fine. 3* either way doesn't make any difference.

all my ktm are weird with neutral - i use my hand IF i want neutral or i hold the clutch in while waiting, most often if at lights i will kill the engine until i move on - this goes back across decades of ktm ownership for me, part of loving ktm :-)

Can you tell me which 12 v plug/usb adapter you’re using? Mine seems to cycle power on and off every 10 seconds or so. Thanks in advance
