ZX4R Slip On DB Killer - Too Quiet ?
The Yoshimura AT2 Slip On sounds great, but 106dB is a BIT loud for some folks. In this video I test the INS-20-K sound insert, aka db killer, for the ZX4R Slip On. Is it too loud, does it sound good, let me know!

The ZX-4RR has an amazing inline 4 ICE that revs to a stratospheric fifteen thousand rpm , sadly you can't hear it over the wind. How To Smooth Out The Throttle On Your Z900rs!
มุมมอง 2.6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
The Z900RS is an amazing Motorcyle but the throttle snatch is painfully annoying. This nerve grating quirk of Kawasaki's otherwise excellent modern classic has kept me off it, meanwhile I've piled up miles on other 2 wheelers in my garage. I tried fixing the snatchy throttle by adjusting the throttle slack. Did that free adjustment make the Z900RS more rideable or make the throttle snatch worse...

Riding The Ktm 390 Adventure For 500 Miles: My Honest Thoughts!
I've done 12 k miles on 390s. Absolutely no problems. Based on the forums and my experience the 390 is very reliable. I can afford any adventure bike available, but the 390 is my choice. Persevere with the 390.
just ordered one in black last week super hyped i was thinking about going the austin racing route with the exhaust system if i cant understand them then yoshi (austin racing is euro brand)
Congrats on the purchase ! I had no idea Austin Racing is a euro brand, I thought it was from Texas ;-p
@@tsdmoto they have stations in texas but the founding and main hq is in euro the website is confusing to me tbh
Great vid! I have a 23 and live in a townhome community so I face the same problem. I commute so I can’t blast 90+db at idle at 5-6am. I’ve been looking at the Yosh pipe as I like its sound the best. Thanks for the info. Gotta check out your other vids.
Thanks for the comment ! Good idea to keep the neighbors happen since you have to live around them. :)
I have the same bike and exhaust. Way to loud for me, gave me a headache. I bought the k20 baffle and its perfect for me.
I just put the same baffle in today ,cut out a bit of the bass and I swear the bike runs better with the baffle
@@tsdmoto Yes. I think it runs better with the baffle as well.
You can fix this issue with a marble
Tell us more
I’m just about to buy one!
Very nice sound
I have a 22' Anniversary and the abruptness is soooo frekin extreme. It isn't something I think I can get used to and am really weighing my options now.
Ooof, and that motorcycle is stunningly beautiful too. Sorry you're dealing with it, let us know which option you choose.
It's not a throttle slack issue. It's electronic. The fuel shuts off when the throttle closes
IVANs will fix that. And everything else annoying about the bike
Thanks for the vote of confidence for Ivans!
Problem I see is you can buy the concours for about the same amount as the z 900 and you get a extra 65 hp and more torque.
Ive had the originals from the 70s, ive owned the real kawi eliminators from the 80s the drag strip rockets with 100 hp inline 4s in a cruiser frame, also owned a couple kawi concourse from the early 2000s up to the big boy the GTR 1400, but I do miss my old kz 1000s from the 70s , just a fun bike and would run forever just like any CB Honda from the era.
I had no idea the Eliminators had inline 4's in a cruiser frame, that's sick !
@@tsdmoto 85 to 87, they were competing with the v max and v65 magna.
Why i am going for the akrapovic slip on, although that may end up being not much over stock in terms of loudness.
Maybe the Akra has a removable dB killer?
It sounds so nice🫡
Thank you 👍
I have the same problem with my 2024 yelow ball .on off snatches. All the time .3 weeks old . Not good may trade it back in .
Sorry to hear that. I hope it works out for you. If you do trade it, let us know which way you went !
@@tsdmotojust put a marble in the hose that comes off the air intake
I've always wondered why anyone complains about stock tires or stock seats. I expect both to be terrible on a new bike.
Good point Satch !
My 2022 doesn't have a "snatchy" throttle and the Dunlop tires are really good, plus I'd never stop for a stupid turtle.
Just got the 4r 2 days ago, i love it
It's a fab 2 wheeler , congrats !
For all of the nerds out there, 106db peak at 8k rpm is 4X louder than the factory exhaust. The difference is nothing short of shocking.🤣
Woah... It's loud. 90db at Idle. It does sound proper. Side note. I use Original Bike Spirits as well. Great stuff.
Ugg I meant to say Bike Spirits but I sort of call all of it Bike Bright for reasons unknown. I don't like to use it on the body work cause it's super harsh, but it will take off stubborn stuff.
Got this as a first bike. Feeling it out period was about 500 miles since my work commute is mostly highway, but once you feel it out it's a blast to fling around. Stock tuning wasn't noticeably bad at first, but now that I'm comfortable on it you feel it fall after 10.5k where they nanny it. I'm not a heavy dude but the rear shock settings were too soft from the factory so you may want to play with those a bit. The stock exhaust is a bit pathetic but luckily that's fixable. The TST full light kit/tail tidy is worth it. I got it because once I'm done modding it, I can wring it out and not get a "go directly to jail" card like I would on a zx-6r and it's more comfortable to ride. All in all, I'm extremely happy with it. For the "average rider", they're gonna be upset at the lack of torque. For an enthusiast rider and someone who like twisties, finding the right gear has never been a concern tbh. Might help I've driven manual cars on twisty roads for most of my driving career though.
Thanks for the detailed comment and welcome to motorcycling, the ZX-4RR is a great choice! Does the TST rear lamp have an auto blink brake light function?
Considering one for my first bike as well, for essentially the same reasons you stated; wring it out and not be going 600speeds. I'm completely fine with all bark and no bite on something reving like this. Same reason I bought a yxz vs all the other sxs's (which have much better power/suspension).
Beautiful video, Beautiful bike, thank you for saving the turtle. I do the same all the time, I hope you don’t mind asking, what type of helmet and jacket you have on nice gloves too. Stay safe turtle man! Thank you
Thanks @creed426 , That I've saved three of those little turtles in the last month. :) I'm wearing a Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet, an older Dainese Super Speed jacket, and Klim Induction gloves.
@@tsdmoto thank you!!
Anytime !!

Don't be mad, I went with the Yoshi slip-on :) th-cam.com/video/SjGYcLDBwEw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lGxqJnpOrnXd7JDD
I bought the 2018 Z900rs Cafe in lime green in January of 2019. It was not my first bike but it was my firts new bike. I have 22,500 miles on it. Its still all stock except for radiator guard and rear fender delete. Ive ridden it in 10 different states taking trips with my wife on her z650. I love this bike. She rips and its not to bad in the corners. I have no plans to getvrid of it.
Thx for the comment. Sounds like you have a real bond with your Z900RS , congrats :) .
The frame is black on my KRT. Great video! Wait until you get a Yoshi or Graves on it, it'll change how you ride that bike. I find myself spending more time wringing it out to redline. Neighbors don't really care for it! LOL
I think I meant 40th anniversary and I said KRT. :( Yoshi AT2 just went on and it's hitting 110db when I rev to 8k, the 'hood will hate it.
I own a ZX4RR KRT, this review is a solid 4/10. Its not for learners, dont be fooled by the low CC you can get yourself in trouble on this. Brakes are strong, like 1 finger is all I need for road riding. A learner panic breaking will get themselves is a big mess real quick. This is a track orientated bike, a second review would be welcomed once you've done a track day or 2 after you've got your run in and tune done. Stay safe and enjoy the summer (I'm down under and its got cold over here!) Edit for grammar
Thanks for the feedback. This is a first ride / initial impression type review. A full review will come after I've had more time on the bike.
2022 Euro 5 KTM 390 ADV: 9400 km's no issues what's so ever.
Thx for the feedback!
I’ve been looking at one to complement my Tenere after catching one on a demo truck last summer. 400/4s are my weakness. 😂
They would make a nice pair !
I put a G2 Ergonomics Throttle Tamer on my 2023 Z and it has eliminated the twitch.
I’ve been curious about those and I appreciate you sharing the feedback
great ride good review but your "dislikes" - a green shock, abs decal and ram air decal was not really relevant to whether or not someone would buy one lol
Those were things o disliked, didn’t dislike much else !
I always thought from the side the New Ninja design reminds me of a wolf's head... Odd I know... Just thought I should add to some of the interesting comments above 😂.
The thing Iv found bad about the Z900Rs. It’s too hard to pick the best color. They all look really slick 😮n person. The pictures and video don’t touch the metallic in the paint
Kind of a good problem to have :)
Congrats on the new ride!
Thanks Brah !
These seem like they pack a lot of punch for 390cc. Is the aftermarket pretty good for them?
The aftermarket is very extensive
I am absolutely in love with my Dark Green one. Perfect bike for me. 🙌
The throttle is fine on these. It’s a cable throttle that you just need to get used to. I love mine. Delete the cat and you’ll get power but lose torque which looks great on paper but does nothing.
Agreed on torque vs hp , got to love torque !
Fasst sells the best flex handle bars for all types of bikes on my dr650 I use a 15 degree pitch on moto bars from fasst they save my wrist alot of guff no control loss and adjustable for how much flex you want and even set up soft no loss of control i still hit the jumps at 54 years old
Thx for the hot tip !! I’ve not heard of these bars before.
Get you a set of fasst handlebars absolute best up grade with a set of warp 9 two inch risers for your handle bars. Those risers will replace the original dog bones holding your factory handle bars

I Love my 22 Z900RS 20th Anniversary Edition. True the throttle is a bit twitchy but I love everything else. What a fun bike, I bought it because it reminded me so much of my 70's version. Now if I could find a KZ650 like my 77 model to add.
I started on a Z650RS two years ago. The 900 will be my upgrade in another few years. Love them!

How the GoPro 12 charging while on record? Thanks
I've never tried it but I THINK it's possible with the Media Mod or swapping out the battery door with the on used on the Volta.
The exhaust system and styling is what I love the most..
