Thanks Jason! Yeah I think it takes people a while to get their heads around it - as it seems counter intuitive - add lots of light when you shoot your "dark" scenes!
Seeing these lights fit on a cardellini on a bookshelf is a pretty awesome display of how light weight and versitle these lights are. Awesome lighting setups too!
I like both moonlight setups, it all depends on the intention on the story, althought my fav is the blueish one if I had to pick one. Overall I love the 3 setups, the rainforest beams are so cool, thanks for sharing!
Yeah it's hard to choose, that's why I ended up including them both haha! The cold one definitely feels more intentional and takes on more of the spooky vibe.
This video could not have come at a better time lol. I’m currently considering selling my amaran gear and switch to Zhiyun love how bright and portable these lights are.
@@EdProsser but really nice work I am inspired to do better with my light...and buy at least one 650w light...got 300w and 200w already and it is sometimes specially with windows to compensate outdoor light no enough if I want it soft...
@@filipmichalsaffray441 yes it's the problem as soon as you have to diffuse or bounce it you lose a lot of output. I'm glad it's inspired you. I learn a lot making these videos so they're super useful for me too.
Beautiful lighting!! I always enjoy your breakdowns because you take time to actually make a proper scene unlike 90% of other reviewers/creators. Looking forward to more like this 🙌🏿
It's so difficult! Each time I make one of these videos I'm going in blind, spending time trying to figure it out and experiment, so I'm learning as I make these, then hopefully sharing the knowledge!
Legend! These videos are always so inspiring and I love that you turn a gear overview into a lesson and food for thought as well. Great work as always Ed! Also, which diopters do you use? I'm waiting on the Blazar Remuses and know I'll need some sort of magnification going on.
Nice setups ... I like 3rd the most. B500 seems interesting, I wonder how loud it is ... and on paper it got really good output. It's hard to believe it's 25% brighter than Aputure 600X :o I want Zhiyin to send one to me :D.
I did not realise the B500 had greater output than the Aputure 600x, but I'd also heard mixed things about that light anyway... Fans on the B500 are fairly noticeable at full output, probably wouldn't be great for an interview situation unless it were backed up a fair bit. It's a remarkable little light though. At lower output the fans don't kick in or are much quieter
It's called the Rocket by a company called Pea Soup, it's a UK based company - it's expensive, but great, doesn't leave residue so suitable for interiors
YES! Love this. I always explain to people to bring the exposure down in post which will give clean results. Awesome video

These are stunning shots! Very well done and I appreciate the difficulty of what you're undertaking here.
Thank you!

Yeah, I'm definitely in my cardellini era
This is the way Ed! Great way to showcase a product: make magic with it 🙌
Thanks Em, also helps having an absolute TH-cam guitar legend to perform on camera

Beautiful shots 👌 got some inspiration for sure
Glad to hear it!

Ran into Sam at the Danny Gevirtz film festival in Manchester - what a colab ;)
Hopefully we'll do more! Bigger and better!

Thanks for this Ed! I really should work on my lighting, kinda struggling with it now

I basically just got super cheap screw on diopters on Amazon, just whatever came up on the search, they were like £20 and they work like a charm!
@@EdProsser crazy how affordable they are. Thanks my man!
