Nice haul there Jack, one of my favourite albums in Jethro Tull, Heavy Horses also love a bit of The Men They Couldn't Hang but the one that I said out loud I want that was the signed Wolfstone album, I've got all their stuff on CD but didn't realise any of it had been released on vinyl. Cheers.
Hi Roger, I’m looking forward to giving Heavy Horses a spin and the Men They Couldn’t Hang (not heard them at all). I’m going to sell Wolfstone, listened to them last night and not really my thing. Cheers for watching, Jack
Great haul Jack. Balls Scaggs doesn’t get enough love in the VC. Having a huge hit like Silk Degrees puts him in the crosshairs. Those eyes on the Collins album are pretty intense. Cheers.
Very nice haul , even without the box-sets Jack. If you see a copy of Latin Quarters debut Modern Times..I love that LP , great copies of a stone-cold prog classic with Camel Mirage , and close behind the Nude album too. Excellent. Don't know that Bob Geldof one , Steely Dan Gaucho my favourite , as is Talking Heads Remain in Light. Looks to be a nice amount of money's worth there all in all. And Jethro Tulls Heavy Horses and Stormwatch.. don't get me started. ❤️❤️Superb Jack. Until next time Jack. 👍👍🎵🤘
Cheers Peter, it was a good haul right enough! I'll keep a few of them and sell the rest. There was a fair few I wasn't familiar with, so plenty to dig into. Thanks for watching, Jack
Hi Jack, good vid mate, and good meeting you when you visited us. We've just received loads of new used records since you were last in at Audio Emotion! Some interesting stuff.
Many thanks, Gordon. Was great to meet you too and getting a wee tour around your shop... first class set-up. Would be keen to take a look at what you've picked up... if you can send me a video you can get me at: thevinylvoyage964@gmail.com Cheers, Jack
@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3ufI was in the shop the other day and it was mind boggling to see all the boxes and boxes of records Jack. Some really nice ones and most were in really nice condition.
Jack. Man you got a lot of cool stuff here.. I'm kinda jealous.. cool story with a unique urban nomad.. And the Boz Skaggs thing.. a former colleague of mine here in Canada that was from Scotland would have Definitely called him Bollocks Scaggs... haha.. Cheers, Darryl.
Cheers Rob! Lot's to dig into that I've not heard before. The Devo album being one of them. A lot of the good stuff, I've already got so will move along. It seemed a liberating experience for the guy to be getting rid of all his stuff and just living out of his van. Not for me. Not much room for a turntable in a van!
Hey Ed, looking forward to hearing the Devo album. The guy only lived about 15 mins from my house, but I had to drive the hour back from my football game. Really please with the haul, just need to decide if I’ll make an offer on the boxsets. Think he’s after too much for them though. I should give Boz a fair listen! Cheers, Jack
Mega haul Jack. Some diamonds amongst the rocks. I really like The Men They Couldn't Hang. Some first class punk from Scotland's finest The Exploited. Box Scaggs 😂😂😂
Cheers Mike! I've heard of The Men They Couldn't Hang, but have no idea what kind of music they make. Looking forward to hearing The Exploited album and I might even give Baws Scaggs a listen too 😂
Ooooh, wow, the Beautiful South the PC cover! Not seen a vinyl version of that one before. Nice Simple Minds as well. Ooo, lovely Traffic album that one. The The’s released a new album in 2024. First time in ages. Yeah, I love The The, not heard that one mind. His two albums with Johnny Marr are my favorites. Desireless, french, I had her hit singel. Voyage Voyage. I like Camel, good album that, to me. Camper van… and bunker somewhere in the Hebrides sounds like 😄 Full Moon Fever I love. Jackson Browne, another “norwegian“. Oh I love Sports by Huey Lewis. Little Steven is popular in Norway, not least after he took a break from E-Street to act in the series Lillyhammer. Looove Sandinista 😊 Nightclubbing is my favorite by Grace Jones. Cool Manowar poster 😄 That’s my favorite The The (Mind Bomb) his first of two with Johnny Marr. A CD I played a lot!
Cheers for watching Morten! I'll be sure to listen to Mind Bomb. I had no idea that Johnny Marr played on it. I'm busy cleaning them at the moment... they were pretty grubby, so definitely need a deep clean. It's gonna take me a while, so got some Stevie Wonder on to help me through!
@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf That’s great. Yes he played on this one and the next. Arguably The The’s greatest period. Power went in parts of town here so I’m sans, not power, but internet Happy cleaning. And perhaps maybe get a tetnis booster? Some of those covers were… 🤢

Ha,ha The Men They Couldn't Hang were from Southampton..kind of a Levellers/punky vibe. They always seemed to be playing live whenever we went to any pub...therfore I must have seen them about 2000 times..but never owned any of their records. Alot of very sellable stuff their..this is how you should start your shop..built up some stock..& then go for it!
Cheers Harris, I’ll give them a listen once cleaned! I’ve a fair bit of stock at the moment… think opening a shop is a step to far at this point in time for me. Cheers for watching, Jack
Hi Jack, Soul Mining is a fantastic album you definitely need to give it a listen. The Men They Couldn’t Hang are also worth a listen, of the two albums you showed The Night of a Thousand Candles (their first) is probably there best, Iron Masters was the big song of that, it also finishes with a cover of Eric Bogle’s Green Fields of France. Andy
Hi Andy, I’ll certainly give them a listen. Just listened to Mind Bomb today and it didn’t really grab me… the record also had a stick, so definitely getting rid of that. Still loads to wade through. Cheers for watching, Jack
Hi Jack - a good haul there ! El Loco by ZZ Top is a classic. Box Scaggs’ debut is another classic, and his 2018 album “Out of the Blues” has a great cover of Neil Young’s On The Beach. If you like Van Morrison then I’m sure you will like Boz )although I am not familiar with Silk Degrees). The The doesn’t do it for me although I have tried listening to Soul Mining a couple of times. Cheers Bill
Cheers Bill! I’ve still got a lot of these to listen through. There was a lot I wasn’t familiar with. Might get a chance to get into a few more tomorrow!
Good haul, some of these are hard to get gold of. Soul Mining is fab, one of the best albums of the 80s. I do tend to find that most people who want shot of their records are basically up for giving them away.
Thanks James! There was a lot of stuff in that haul that I'm not very familiar with. I've never properly listened to The The before so they are due a fair listen. Never realised that Johnny Marr played on some of their albums. You're right... some people just want rid of their records and can't be bothered with the space that they take up. I'm always happy to lend a helping hand 😉
Hindu Love Gods! That's a difficult record to find. Soul Mining is awesome. There are some really good records in this batch. Sounds like the price was right!
It really was and I didn't even need to haggle. I was so surprised when he gave me the new price after deciding to keep the boxsets to sell separate. Yep, the Hindu Love Gods is a cracker! Can't wait to spin that after it's been cleaned.
Big World Party fan. Private Revolution is great but the records after that are even better. Jealous of those Beautiful South records. Those don't show up very often here in the States. Where do you sell off the records you aren't keeping? Online or do you trade them in at record shops?
I usually just sell them locally if I can. I've got a wee loyal following of regular buyers. If it's something more niche I'll stick it on Ebay or Discogs.

I've got The Motels LP you showed,a bit of a new wave vibe to it and not a bad listen 👍👍👍
