Hello Jack. Two Die Toten Hosen albums. I'm jealous. There were were some gems in your £20 haul, especially Misty In Roots and the Concert for Kampuchea. Cheers Mike
Hi Jack,MFSB (Mother Father Sister Brother) were like a house band of 30 plus musicians at the Philadelphia International label Sigma Sound Studios in the Seventies backing loads of legendary artists and songs. They made their own records too and the track "TSOP The Sound Of Philadelphia" is a classic on it's own and was the theme song to the U.S. t.v.show "Soul Train" and got to number one in the States selling over a million copies. Cheers,Ian
Cheers Ian, not given it a listen yet, but it sounds like it’ll be good. I love watching old clips from Soul Train… so cool! Cheers for the info pal, Jack
A really interesting video, Jack, as I was curious to see what was in those bags for £20! Some really nice records in there, but my personal fave was the Sam and Dave one 😊 Die Toten Hosen sound very interesting too, so I shall give them a listen! Best wishes, Christian
Sam and Dave and Misty in Roots were the two I was keen to get a hold of. However, I really liked the Jesse Fuller album... great, upbeat acoustic blues. I know that blues isn't normally described as upbeat or joyful, but this really is. Die Toten Hosen aren't really my thing... I remember they got played a lot in bars when I was living in Germany. Nope, not for me!!! Cheers for watching bud!
@ Ah yes, the Misty in Roots looked cool too and I’m really happy to hear one of your other acquisitions, in Jesse Fuller, proved to be such an enjoyable listen 😊 It’s great when that happens, when you get a record and you stick it on - perhaps not knowing too much about it, or not expecting too much - and it ends up being really enjoyable! I like the idea of joyful, upbeat blues myself, so it sounds like one I need to check out too. I will give Die Toten Hosen a try, out of curiosity, and that’s so cool you lived in Germany! I love going there so much - Bremen and Berlin, in particular - so I’m sure you must have some amazing stories from the time you spent over there! Always a pleasure to watch your vids, pal and I look forward to the next one 😎 Best wishes, Christian
Nice crop of bargains! That autograph is your very own Derek Dick a.k.a. Fish, I recognise it from my signed copy of Misplaced Childhood. You've got a new subscriber.
That Jesse Fuller record was a real find ! It’s on my want list . That has to be worth the price you paid for the job lot by itself ? Some nice reggae to 👍
Hey Tim, don't think it's a very expensive record... probably pick it up for around 10-15 pounds in excellent condition. Sometimes the cheapies are the best!
@ Rainbow were great! Bonnet did a fine job I think, great voice…although, no disrespect to him, Dio is the man! Judas Preiest were great too, as were Scorpions and Saxon. I’m a fan of April Wine too, and them and Riot were good, as were Touch (I hadn’t heard of them before going there), but I was pleasantly surprised, well I liked them anyway. It was my very first festival, so it has very fond memories for me. Other monster of rock were great, don’t get me wrong, 1984 was special, but it was my first one and it was a great show! Cheers man. What about you, have you managed to get to any fest like MOR? Enjoyed your upload, I like hearing people talk about their vinyl etc in the collection- I’m a collective as well. Best wishes 🤘
That's a nice little haul for only £20. I've picked up that Misty In Roots LP recently and it's excellent, worth the £20 alone. The Emmylou Harris 'The Legendary Gliding Bird' album is a UK reissue of her rare US debut from 1969. She doesn't like the album and has bought the rights and masters to ensure it never gets reissued again, so even the issue you have is quite collectable. It's not a bad album at all, nothing embarrassing, just a 60's acoustic folk album. Enjoy! 🙂
Cheers James, that's interesting about the Emmylou Gliding Bird... definitely dig into that. You're right, it was worth it for the Misty in Roots alone!
Die Toten Hosen wow! Definitely my kinda thing. Nice Sam & Dave too. The tartan picture disc deserves a plate holder and to put in a special place. Cheers...Ben
Hey Jack, you gotta keep looking and digging.... there's always records out there waiting to be found! I'll have a listen to the Marvin and Diana tomorrow... looks good. I thought the band was called The Sound of Philadelphia... is that just the name of the album?
Gee, I might have passed over Die Toten Hosen! I have seen that Kampuchea thing a few times, but never bought it. I guess I would keep that tartan picture disc!!
Certainly worth rifling through the filler to snag some good stuff for what you paid, Jack. You'll find some of these a good home! Nice Sam & Dave, and Jesse Fuller. I remember that Concert for Kampuchea LP. 😎🎶
@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf I actually can't recall ever listening to it, and I don't have it. But, I totally recognized it when you held it up, and remember seeing it a lot when I was a kid. I would think there might be some versions on there that never been released elsewhere (Clash, Specials, Ian Dury, etc.), so definitely a keeper in that regard!
German Punk - new to me !! Great sleeves - 4 big bags of records for £20 - bargain. I like a bit of Rod the Mod .. that Sam and Dave looks good too - nice buy! Stay well 👍🫡🇬🇧 that Hysteria album is worth more than £20 by itself
Hey Gav, there were actually two mint copies of Hysteria in the bundle. After I bought and paid for the load the lady asked if she could keep one of the Hysteria, cause it reminded her of her partner. How could I say no 😕?!? Like you say, I'll get the dough back from the Hysteria alone. There was loads of Rod... I like him too! No Faces, but Smiler, Atlantic Crossing etc. Might be able to upgrade my copies.
Not all classical records are poundworthy..some of the Deutche Gramophon titles and Decca recordings from 60s and 70s can have decent value. Not sure if you're familiar, but there's a VCer called Alan, his channel is called Static Traveller..he's not currently making videos, but he's made a few really interesting and informative videos about classical records and what to look out for in terms of desirability. Some good titles there Jack. not necessarily all my cup of tea, but you got a great deal...the Misty in Roots is nice, reggae from that period doesn't show up too often in my experience.
Hi Rob, know that some classical albums are really valuable and know the Deutche Gramophon label, but I've pretty much no idea what I'm really looking for when it comes to classical records. I read that for classical records to be worth anything at all they really need to be in pristine condition. I think classical collectors are far pickier when it comes to condition. Alan's channel sounds really informative. I'll definitely take look... always keen to learn. The Misty in Roots was a nice find. I really like stuff like that and Eek-a-Mouse... though again, I don't have a great knowledge of 80s reggae. Most of that collection was fodder that I'll hopefully move along to a carbooter! Cheers, Jack
Oh I haven't listened that Diana & Marvin album for awhile! I think I liked it. Wow what a found. I don't have any Die toten hosen and I'm not looking for them. BUT I totally would keep them. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Hey Mr Finglish, thanks for watching and commenting. I'll try and spin Diana and Marvin tonight after football training. Just subbed to your channel pal! Enjoying you continents competition entry! Cheers, Jack
Hi jack. Lpclassical is a guy called Stuart he has a channel mostly dedicated to classical records he’s well worth subscribing too I find him engaging and entertaining
Thanks, Jack. The Concerts for Kampuchia (Cambodia), were held to raise money and awareness, after the Communist/Maoist Kymer Rouge under Pol Pot 1975-79 devastated the Cambodians, killing a quarter of the population.
ahh ha.. never realised Kampuchia was Cambodia. Yep, it'd be fair to say that Pol Pot was a bit of a wrong 'un! Cheers Nick, I'm going to give this a listen tonight.
@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf well, back in the days when I was working in Switzerland these guys had some mainstream exposure their songs often played on radio stations. I didn't know they were still active though.
Thanks Greg! Yeah, nothing really outstanding there.. except the Misty in Roots reggae album, but enough to make a few quid! Problem is I'm starting to drown in vinyl. The stuff I'm buying to sell is taking up to much space that I need to build my own collection. Cheers, Jack

Hey Mike, the Misty in Roots is a beauty! I'm giving it a clean today for another listen tonight.

Cheers Mac! Many thanks for watching and commenting pal! Cheers, Jack
Some nice albums in that lot. Enjoying your finds ,great stuff, Jack.😊👍
Many thanks David! Been working my way through a few of them.

Nice haul Jack. That Marvin and Diana is pretty good. Excellent Misty in Roots.
That tartan picture disc is crucial.🤣
The tartan is going up on the wall, James! Find of the year for me!
I’ve got that Monsters of Rock comp. Went to that fest in 1980 and onwards 👍
Some line up that! Who was best? Cheers for watching and commenting, Haakon.

Oh yeah, the tartan lp is an absolute beast!
Some really good music in that batch Jack. The Ross Gaye album is a keeper, as is MFSB. Beating the bushes has really paid off for you. Cheers.
Hey Jack, you gotta keep looking and digging.... there's always records out there waiting to be found! I'll have a listen to the Marvin and Diana tomorrow... looks good. I thought the band was called The Sound of Philadelphia... is that just the name of the album?
Can't believe how good you are at finding cheap vinyl Jack! 👌
Jim🏴🙂
I've always got my eyes open, Jim! This year hasn't been as lucky as the last few years, but still not bad.
Gee, I might have passed over Die Toten Hosen! I have seen that Kampuchea thing a few times, but never bought it. I guess I would keep that tartan picture disc!!
The tartan vinyl hasn't made the cut yet.... maybe though.
I've got that Kampuchea album,it ain't too bad a listen.
£20 for that lot,bit of a bargain 👍👍👍
Cheap as chips Nick!
Certainly worth rifling through the filler to snag some good stuff for what you paid, Jack. You'll find some of these a good home! Nice Sam & Dave, and Jesse Fuller. I remember that Concert for Kampuchea LP. 😎🎶

So you like a bit of German punk rock, Romuald!?! Even if I don't like the music so much, it brings back good memories of living in Germany.
@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf well, back in the days when I was working in Switzerland these guys had some mainstream exposure their songs often played on radio stations. I didn't know they were still active though.
You did well for 20 quid, most likely get your money back if you sell some 🎉. 👍. Greg
