Every year or two, I drive over a bump in the road which brings up the NO DISC error. An auto electrician has removed the unit on two occasions & that was enough for it to work again. It's now done it again! Great video, covering all the options & budgets.
@711honved, Thank you for your kind words of support, much appreciated. The changer on mine didn't seem to be effected by bumps in the road. It just slowly refused to work, almost disc by disc. Luckily, we have someone in the UK that has the expertise and is willing to help, regards Damian.
I watched your older video and my reaction was, "whew. Glad mine works so I don't have to faff about taking things apart etc..." I spoke too soon. Mine has (03) has fallen victim to the 'no disc' error. Initially I just had to reboot it by removing and reinserting the 'magazine'. Now, even that doesn't work. I don't do blue tooth nor does my phone have music. I tossed all my cassettes about 6 yrs ago (taking up so much room and I was trying to declutter). Unfortunately, living in Canada, I'm thinking the postage to get my changer to Daniel may be cost prohibitive.
@lib556, I prefer using CD's rather than streaming via the phone. I find it more simple to deal with especially for older music. My son Owen prefer streaming from his phone but he's the next generation. Room for both functions in my book (what out for our next video). Not sure if Daniel ships internationally but is surely worth asking as does a good job. Thanks for your input, regards Damian
My '03 unit now has a no disc error code, so I'll be posting it to Daniel too. Thanks again for a very helpful video. On a separate subject, XK8 windscreens, my Dorchester grey aluminium windscreen surround has some bubbling patches, any recommendations on repair or replacement? Also if an XK8 windscreen needs replacing does this surround come out too? Kind regards, Jon Slade
Jon, I think you are in safe hand if you sent it to daniel8511. Reference windscreen surrounds. From what I understand they need to be removed when replacing the windscreen, However, they are are easily damaged, difficult to remove and finding replacement is getting more of a problem. Fellow Jaguar enthusiast, and recent Xk8 owner, Adrian Rhoden, is currently facing this issue after a bird strike. Hopefully, we will be able to get information on the current issues we have when replacing X100 windscreens, regards Damian
Hi Damian, I had to replace my windscreen on my2002 XKR - AutoWindscreens were great, knew the issues with the trim surround, and did a perfect job paid for on my insurance. My bodywork guy sorted the corrosion bubbles on windscreen and other window trims and resprayed in Dorchester Grey - he did warn me it may come back but almost 3 years on its looking good
