A lot like those really old tube radios with those huge push buttons etc..The metal and shafts etc..We've lost a lot of that design and architecture nowadays. Great video Brad, I admire your tenacity and determination to get that up and running..Ed..uk..😀

11:25 yes it will drain. You have to unscrew the top cap I believe….and then the rest of the antenna will come out with needle nose. Spray some lithium on the cogged plastic cable…it only goes one way. The cogs go either front or back. Cant remember, been a while.
    Turn on your radio…extend.
Turn off your radio with you feeding the whole mess back down..
    Then put on your cap.
Jaguar has them in stock, they sell them by the gross.

I buy pack of cheap brushes from the arts & crafts store, and use the thin ones to paint on lube or glue in tight spots. You can spray into a small cup or direct onto brush tip. The wide ones can be used to get dust out, if I use compressed air the dust ends up in my nose.

That connection is more commonly used by JVC. Alpine and Sony did use them, but they're not as commonplace as the 7 and 8 pin DIN connection. If I remember correctly Kenwood only uses DIN, but I could be wrong. There's so many variables over decades of car audio.

Try cleaning the cd head. Dust can get stuck and make it so the disk can’t be read. Dust bunnies come and go on the head. Don’t blow it out with air as that can cause misalignment of the head.

I've got 2 of the component type 5 disc changers, one cycles fine then starts to skip, the other will rotate the turn table etc, but will not play the discs. I'm thinking of lubing both, all I have is wd40 & 3 in 1. Last one I had was a Fisher that was a record turntable & CD 5 disc player. It worked then quit, then started working again for about a year then quit. The 2 I'm talking about are Sony & Pioneer. Frustrating as hell.

It’s little things like this that end a car sitting in a salvage yard.
I know, you probably don’t get a lot of salt on the roads just like where I live. So the actual structure of the car lasts a long time.
I see cars sitting in pull a part, and I wonder why sometimes.
And I think a lot of little things, people can’t fix.
It’s a shame, because you tube has so may do it yourself videos.

I use CD's and MP3's, CD's are far better quality of sound, in fact the .OGG are 20times fatter than an MP3 or MP4.. way more content.. if you remember .MP3 was written in the day when broadband was still dialup and the fastest around was maybe half meg DSL for fat pipes, (mainframes) most homes had like 256 till around 02 when the "mighty" 1 meg hit the pipe... and boy were we in heaven.. 256 meg graphic cards like the voodoo2 card... oh boy, we ere getting uber fast 500mhz CPU's, man it was heaven..
however the MP3 was written for dial up so the trimming was massive in an effort to get it up and down the pipe in a reasonable manner, nothing has changed in that respect, still very stripped down format in any event so CD's all the way whenever I have a chance to indulge in the very best of digital recordings.. yup, some JACKWAD stole all my CD's from my mustang in like 04' however I did rip 2 of each as christmas presents for my cousins in 03' full .OGG format, had very rare Skynyrd bootleg box kit sold at costco back then, when they sold bootleg.. this had the very first recording of freebird which ended with no extended soloing, at first this song didn't have the massive soloing at the end.. nope, different acoustic beginning as it was before powell was intehband... still good, very folk
frankly there will never be a better recording than the .OGG as it entails every single byte of data, nothing is left out, they can be up to 2 gigs in size, CD's are usually around 30 gig in capacity, double will be used for larger.. blue ray hold many CD's, same quality however... id save em all, never get rid of your music CD's.. they can be cleaned up too if real scratchy, bout $20 for the cleaner...
