    I have been using the Cassette Adaptor for around 2 years. It's brilliant. Works well. I don't drive my car alot so charging the adaptor is not an issue. I just charge it before I go out on a long journey.

      Hooky, I have also been using one for a few years and it's a good solution. The charging of the battery and the tape head pickup are weaknesses. Eventually got fed up and decided to upgrade the head-unit. No battery or directly connected to the head-unit, regards Damian

    I fitted a new single DIN Panasonic head unit to my XK8 many years ago. Rather than change the entire console surround I simply bought a shaped insert which fits around the single DIN unit and replicates the shape of the original Jag surround. The insert was not expensive. You can spend as much or as little on the head unit as you wish but the total cost including the surround could easily be under £100 and you then have proper Bluetooth without cassette, DAB, USB socket, aux phono input etc

      Richard, Sorry didn't include the surround inserts you can purchase for less. Good point you can find simpler options for head-unit integation and spend as much or as little as you want on a single DIN unit. It is a good solution but loses the OEM look for the dash board. Thanks for your input, regards Damian

    Nice. I added bluetooth using a hard to find Alpine device integrated with the cd changer, along with a BT receiver and an extra subwoofer. My XKR is red like the one in the thumbnail, a 2001 convertible. I love it so much. It's SAD to say I may sell it soon since I dont have time to drive it anymore.

      Dean, sorry you are thinking of selling your XKR but thank you for your input. Hadn’t occurred to me you could retro fit the BT module. I will re-record the video with this additional option. Do you know the module part number? Would like to see if I can still find one to add to the video. Much appreciate your suggestion, regards Damian

      @ODRModurol I'm in Los Angeles, so I have the US model, but it was an easy install. If you can find the alpine part. You need to use aux channel 2 on the Alpine KCA-410C Versatile link adapter to work with the Jag system. The selection for aux is made with a single switch to the interrupt input. You can very discreetly mount a small switch in the wall of the armrest storage box. Although I installed an aux switch, it's overkill, I have never switched back to my cd player. Also, my phone can give a slightly higher output level so I can squeeze a little more juice out of the jag xkr premium stereo amp. Make sure to adjust your phone level so as not to distort. I use this with the rockford fosgate BT receiver. Thanks for your contribution to this space, stay excellent and party on!

      @@deanshull4063 Do you know what alpine reciever you have in your 2001? I looked at the KCA-410C and on the box it says it connects to all 2001 and up Alpine recievers, but my car is a 2000 model year. Think it would work? I currently use a module made by Discount Car Stereo for bluetooth, but it doesn't have an aux port.

    Hey, just wanted to ask you, if you know about an alternative to the Streaming Add-On Module from Discount car Stereo? Because I think the concept is briliant but they‘re currently out of stock.

    Hello. I have a 2005 XK8 4.2S White badge edition. You say that these had Bluetooth but i havent found it on mine! I bought an fm transmitter but the sound is noticeable worse than the Pioneer head unit in my other car. Is that my inagination or is it far better to have BT in the head unit?

    • @ODRModurol
      @ODRModurol  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Jono2905, interesting which market is the car from, North America? I found the head unit was much better after a refurb and sound via bluetooth was very good. However, it's still circa 30 year old technology and equipment. Although refreshed, I would hope and expect any modern head unit to be better performing. IMO it's better to have the BT integrated into the headunit. Thanks for the comment, regards Damian

      @@ODRModurol It is a UK car (I'm in Surrey). It's got the telephone gubbins but that does work with any modern phone I have discovered! I'm considering the eBay guy who converts the head unit but as I'm not confident with my abilities, even with your detailed instructions, and will have to get someone to remove it.

      @jono2905, the pairing of phones with Bluetooth is quite obscure without a touchscreen, the instructions are on our website www.modurol.co.uk, link at the bottom. Don’t think it includes music streaming but could be wrong.

      @@ODRModurol I know it can be done but it requires the CD changer to be working fully and costs about £100 + postage from the US for a cable that is a go-between. It's a bit of a pain in the ass if I'm honest which is why I haven't bothered doing it and probably never will. It doesn't bother me too much that I can't listen to music when driving anyway, I just listen to the exhaust and engine.
