  • Hey guys, new review video. My 10th video on TH-cam. This video take more then a week to make. Running a lot of test, research, and spending time trying to refine the video quality.
    Yep, it is a long review video, packed with information. You ready for that?
    Elegoo Neptune 3 was just released couple month ago, it is newer generation design and features. Well it look a lot nice in person then in video and pic. Love the aluminum color on this thing. Magic blue, lol.
    The printer itself is not perfect, but it is amazing that Elegoo provide that many of features with $230 price tag. The build quality is good and print quality acorss different filaments are good as well. A somehow dia in unit could produce very very nice print.
    So, Love it, I am going to have some design around this printer, just like SV06. Also next step is running Klipper on this. Stay tune.
    So, if you are thinking buying one of this, you better make decision/ convience wife quickly, it sold out very quickly.
    Leave comment below if you have any thought, suggestions!

    I just picked up a returned, (used and returned as not working), Neptune 3 Pro. After troubleshooting and assembly, I had no issues with this unit, it just seems the previous owner didn't know what to do or how to assemble it properly. I was shocked at how quiet it runs compared to the Sovol SV06 Plus and even the Anycubic i3 Max. My go to machine is the Anycubic, but I really like the Neptune very much. The first few prints I have done are impressive out of the gate. This video gave me a lot of pointers to look for, and I will now start testing with temps, retraction, speed and materials. Thank you!

    The machine is hands down the best in it's price range and also exceeds many printers in a higher price range. I can't say enough good things about it. It will print anything you put on it.

      @SvgLau  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Indeed, it is a solid machine for this price point. It is been working great for me, the only thing is the bed spacer is deformed a bit after running for a few month. But I am worry about how long this machine will get support(firmware update, part supply, etc) from Elegoo, since they have jump to Neptune 4. series now.

    Very interesting. TPU is my primary material for printing and I'd be interested to see how this machine prints once the retraction settings are figured out. I'm currently using the Sovol SV06 and find that it isn't the best for flexibles.

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, Sv06 isn't the best for flexible materials. I may able to run some more test this weekend. I will get u back. But in general people don't print tpu at 70mms, it just too fast.

    Nice video. I was looking at this printer or the SV06.
    Which do you think of between those two, which is the best?

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really depends on what you are looking for. SV06 have better high speed potential in structures, higher temp extruder, and open source(CAD files and more). But it is a bit more noisy, some issues at this point, and requires a bit more maintenance.
      In other hand, N3P is very easy to use from assembly to print. It carries a lot of features, touch screen, led, sync belt. It's heatbreak may required to upgrade if you are printing hight temp filaments a lot. But it doesn't have issue with printing any filaments like sv06 does on tpu.

    What mean the symbol z with the circle when printing? ... And what mean the symbol ruler (mm) and the clock (mm/min) in the extruder menu ?

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau  ปีที่แล้ว

      the symbol z with circle is layer height (from printer bed) in mm. The ruler is let the extruder extrude mm of filaments that you input. I believe the clock is set the E step. So it must be put it there for easiler e step calibration.

    Huch your measurements of your bed seems to be high. I got my neptune 3 pro last week and have a maximum range of 0.20mm. Your values are very high huch. It seems to be that neptune 3 pro doesn't use auto bed leveling. Because everytime i print he does not adjust the z axis during the print. Does that happen to you as well?

    • @SvgLau
      @SvgLau  ปีที่แล้ว

      It happens on mine too, some how the bed screws come loose after some print. After tighten them again, the right side somehow got a lot higher then the left. Did you try to put M420 S1 on start G code after G29? It should help.

    • @zerrazer3051
      @zerrazer3051 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SvgLau After a while this helped me. He changes his z direction in relation to the ground. But now he scratches my top layer to often. Seems to be that the measurements are not very accurate. But thank you. The Neptune 3 was very friendly at the beginning, but it becomes to a whole project to calibrate and figuring out how to solve the problems such as stringing and other typical 3d printing problems xd

    Why do this? Why produce electricity and send it to the battery when it is simpler to transfer the power to the generator and produce electricity.
    There is simple solution.
    Horizontal shaft: on one end is turbine and on the other is one bevel gear. On the vertical generator rotor shaft there is another bevel gear. The angle between shafts is 90 degrees. Whenever turbine rotate around the vertical axis the bevel gear on its shaft is rotating around the generator bevel gear and is coupled with it (like planetary gear) and transfers the power. In one direction the rotation will be a little faster and in the opposite direction a little slower, which has no effect on the production of electricity. In that case, the only moving mass is the turbine and the generator can even be placed at the base of the column! The only connection to the turbine is a long vertical shaft.
    The generator stator is of course stationary so the wires from him are stationary too.

      That's interesting, tell me more about it.

    • @Ale_giro
      @Ale_giro ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SvgLau well, i tried Neptune 2 and arrived with some ball bearings rusty, a stepmotor (Z axis) died after 3 weeks (and only 30-35 hours of work), bed isn't flat so is impossible to level the bed and all prints (over 2cm height) start to unlaminates and easily broke, chassis was bent (the only thing fixed).
      The Neptune 2S same: bed bent even the auto-levelling fails to flat it, a belt arrived with a cut, extruder failed after 1 month, and another stepper motor almost fails (lose steps) when print.
      Replaced the Nep 2S with another one Nep 2S... Chassis arrived bent (but this time i wasn't able to fix it), so i asked for a refund...
      So then i bought a Sunlu T3 (Terminator 3). For Italy it's 220€ (vs the Elegoos Neptune 3: 199€)
      Faster (i tried up to 180mms, i won't try more, with pla, because they are so smooth and great! Vs the 35mms on Nep2S for the same quality of layer/prints) no fails or defects even after 4 months.
      Elegoos aftermarket services are good to answer for software or questions... But if the problem is a hardware issue, there is no way to fix it via email, and you will keep fail the prints.
      Resin printers i think they are not amazing quality but they work well even after years (up to 4 and still works). Anycubic resin mobo instead failed after 8-9 months.
      So... Maybe i was unlucky with fdm, but to me, they are very low quality.
      Next time I'll go for sure again and again on Sunlu (or Prusa, if I'll become rich enough 😅.. 800 € are not cheap...)
