Needles are probably my favorite move as a Sheik main. There's just so many things they can be used for, and it's always nice to get a refresher on many of those uses! Thanks for making this video.

best feeling is accidentally wavedashing off the stage ledge, jumping, and then perfectly spot dodging parallel to the stage floor so that you ground cancel mid spar. i don’t make the rules i just follow the reads

I enjoy playing sheik, fox and falco quite a lot. Sheik was my gateway character from PM but I was really into Falco. Now I play a lot of Fox and Falco depending on mood or matchup but Sheik sometimes as well. More, recently. Because marth...More falco and sheik these days because of Marth lol.
The walljump recovery was insane. And the Armada clip at the end eas really cool. Can snipe people riding the wall with a run off turnaround needle throw amazing

Needles are why me need monitors lol. Some CRTs make them neigh impossible to see but the move is so good it doesn't matter at times. The depth of this one move along side the melee mechanics is so satisfying.

At 4:08 you said every needle after the first puts them in regular hitstun instead of crouch cancel hitstun. I'm looking at Ikneedata and id0, id2, and id3 all have purely horizontal knockback which can't be ASDIed down and I'm assuming one of those is the hitbox that only hits grounded opponents, but then you shouldn't be able to ASDI down the first needle either. Or are you only talking about the 1/3rd reduction in hitstun/hitlag from crouch armor?
9:15 you can also turn-around needle cancel by running off the ledge, although the inputs are frame perfect and the only person I've ever seen do it was Plup vs Druggedfox at Smash&Splash
@@davidstebbins8002 I go for a hard read and run up and up air under them(falco) out of anger. Otherwise i run away and laser them as punishment for they're crime.
@@mlalbaitero No, it is a hurtbox. They even show characters actually hitting them with attacks and projectiles getting blocked by hitting them. If they had a hitbox in the ground they would be even more broken lol imagine people taking damage just from running up to you after you threw them in the ground or being forced to jump over them
i knew basically nothing about needle canceling before this. the extra movement is sick. that walljump instant reverse needle cancel ledgegrab is especially tight.

vs. Samus you can also snipe the bombs themselves as she's recovering, one of my fav things to do in the MU cause it generally leads to a kill
