Hi Poppt! I study Psychology and about the sleep thing, I think it's likely that you're thinking of Default Mode Network, which activates not necessarily when you sleep, but when you're doing nothing in particular, a lot of connections and interconnections are changed when a person isn't particularly focused in anything, so it may be more useful to just sit down outside and look at the clouds than to try to force yourself to sleep. I am just a student though, so I could be wrong
I actually requested melee, so happy it happened! What I loved asbout this journey was getting pro coaching. Finding Goodie on Unranked and even Spud giving advice! I'd honestly love more melee, from the streams alone this is my favourite journey yet!
The mindset of staying calm, finding openings and taking your time is exactly what you needed in those situations, godlike mindset to be honest. Please make more of these videos
Bro I'm so happy there's gonna be a part 2. This was my most wanted video. What I think you should focus on jordan is doing more outside the box training exercises. That would make for maybe better improvement depending on how effective it is, and it would make for a more entertaining video I would think. Like for example: When I started playing and wanted to get better at Lcanceling: I would take every character that has a super laggy move, Like Link down air, Bowser Up air, Kirby down air, etc. and I would use it as high as possible and still nail the L cancel. This works well for making your muscle memory connect the L cancel with ''Landing on the ground'' as oposed to specific timings with your aerials. Weird exercices like that would really help you I think. Also try and get Uncle Punch, it would make it much easier to train.
people tend to focus only on technical skill when they learn the game in the first few months. most of them won't have the best neutral which can lead to upsets when comparing people with raw skill level. for the few punish game we got to see you perform, you're holding up quite well for someone who started to play seriously in only a week!
Game 2 against the first falcon you started having the right idea. At your current level, trying to be as fast as possible with Marth isn't really the best advice, I would just focus on playing neutral and not always approaching. Unless you're more than one stock down, you should try to approach as little as possible. When they run into you, intercept them with a shorthop fair, dtilt, or grab. "A stock isn't a lead" Also, for spacie up b recovery, you wanna stay on stage and down b as Marth, particularly if they're horizontal or below the ledge. For spacie side b recovery on stage, just jab 1, then set up for an edge guard. If you think they're gonna side b directly to the ledge, turn your back to the ledge, wavedash back and grab ledge.
Hey Poppt, I have wanted to play melee professionally for a long time and I would like to thank you for motivating me even more and giving me a lot more confidence that I can do it.
I like how real this series is and how sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t, but it’s still fun to watch anyway. For your dog you should teach it to shake, flip and roll over
one thing to remember about Spud is that he's actually a New Zealander but he moved to Australia like a bit later on (around 2015-2016ish) but he's still a Kiwi at heart just thought I'd give a FYI
you should try doing these types of videos on speedruns, games such as celeste, hollow knight, minecraft, cuphead, kirby games, legend of zelda games and others
I can't believe I missed this upload. Damn. One of the most fun things about melee is that its actually a lot of fun at low level against high skill players. Learning how to DI/SDI to get out of combos is very different from ultimate and DI also feels way more important in melee. I mean its obviously important in ult but in melee you just feel it. When I play my best friend if he has been playing bad a lot of the time I will either just hold straight in or not DI to let him get a decent combo and that instantly makes him wanna keep playing.
Good job dude. Having the hand skills to play Melee even half decently at a tournament requires a lot of grinding for most. Can't believe you did all this in a week.
I have no idea how Poppt's journey to be a teacher is going, but these videos really show off some skills that are pretty good for teaching. He's got a talent for it.
Really glad to hear that there’s gonna be a Part 2. You already looked pretty good by the end of the first 7 days, so I think you’d be great after another however many more days, Jordan. Can’t wait to see what happens.
Hey Jordan. Just wanted to say these most recent videos have been incredible. You've really upped your production game I it needs to be commended. Cheers pal
Wow, I’m honestly impressed. I’ve been playing competitively since 2014, and even though your movement is really crude and rudimentary, I was surprised how much you were able to pull it together with just some basic game sense and timing. But yeah, a week would never ever be enough to make it in melee. It’s just how it is with the game and community it has.
Okay, that was a legitimate ad drop. It's one thing to shill for some cash, but to legitimately use the service and demonstrate how it helps you in your own life really sells it.
I love melee so much and am happy that finally a underdog is playing it (yea i know the old smash video i watched it 4 times) also very happy that theres potentially gonna be part 2 (i hope for more)
I don't get the algorithm, I always wait for jordan's videos and I'm super hyped but the algoroithm just recommends it to me today (3 days after the upload) anyways great video jordan, keep it up
Bro, i wish i would have gotten this good after a YEAR in this game! maybe you got some good help here and there but the progress is INSANE, especially your mentality about losing.
I love this series the street fighter video is maybe one of my favorite videos of yours. Would love to see you try guilty gear strive. It’s got quite a large casual audience for a fighting game and it’s got tons of helpful community recourses. The game is shockingly not that difficult to pickup and after playing street fighter you’ll start with a major advantage.
Hey, I just had my first Smash Ultimate tournament a few days ago. Got minced in the first set and only won one round in the second, so I feel that embarrassment lol Your Marth is looking super clean, tho, I'm really impressed. Keep it up!
Hey Poppt, love the vid and can’t wait for the rest of the series. It’d be cool though if for later vids you describe what technical things and mechanics you learn about the game so we know exactly how you are improving.

I think that this is the case and I think this is also why people get ideas when taking showers or baths or are on the toilet.
@@carlaalves3849 true. People forget how to just brainstorm because we always have a screen in front of our faces.
Poppt is going to be a pro at every game imaginable at the end of his Training-Arc
lmao
Very true
No bruh melee is way to hard to become a pro in a year this guy just makes himself look good probably
@@babblingduck9235 100$ says he destroys you
@@IPeppersI idk i actually play and know a lot about the game, definitley not enough to be great but enough to know its a long process.

I’ve really been loving the feel of these new Poppt videos lately! Can’t wait to see him get his Melee on!
Tbh, personally I haven’t, it’s a cool idea, but I do hope that he goes back to uploading consistently
Agreed! love your regular smash stuff but all the training videos are bangers
I’d love more melee
I appreciate the bag getting of a good sponsored segment but that cut was pretty elite. Good shit poppt.
The wise tree background music at 17:39 hits different
We need the Bonnie training arc video!

As a melee player, i loved watching your progress on twitch each day over the last few weeks. Was great to watch while having covid
one thing to remember about Spud is that he's actually a New Zealander but he moved to Australia like a bit later on (around 2015-2016ish) but he's still a Kiwi at heart just thought I'd give a FYI
2:35 yeah unlike my Virginia locals where every other tournament you get sent home early by literally WADI
you should try doing these types of videos on speedruns, games such as celeste, hollow knight, minecraft, cuphead, kirby games, legend of zelda games and others
Been playing melee for a year, still not doing great in tourney, but still fun and pushing through. Point is the game takes time so good luck!
Greatest ad transition of all time

What a perfect sponsor transition! Damn, that was smooth.
Jordan pls more melee. Its so fun to watch someone go from ground level, it would be so dope to see you be good at melee.
More members to the actual UnderDogs. Ozzie and Bonnie (and maybe more) will rise.
Good job dude. Having the hand skills to play Melee even half decently at a tournament requires a lot of grinding for most. Can't believe you did all this in a week.
At 8:20 did Spud Ronaldo Poppt with Ganandorf?! XD
The fact that this man had enough clips against one man to make a montage that fits the entire length of trepak is impressive
Your improvement arc for just a week is rly impressive. So glad ur sticking with the game and making part 2. Melee is sick
I love that he used Skyrim music as the background music
Learning life lessons in poppts vids is by far the best part
Babe wake up. New Poppt1 vid just dropped
I have no idea how Poppt's journey to be a teacher is going, but these videos really show off some skills that are pretty good for teaching. He's got a talent for it.
I’m always impressed by your rock solid competitive mindset
this guy even shouted "Randall!" like a true melee player
Really glad to hear that there’s gonna be a Part 2.
You already looked pretty good by the end of the first 7 days, so I think you’d be great after another however many more days, Jordan.
Can’t wait to see what happens.
I’d love to see you give another 7 days playing melee!!
Shout out to you Poppt and Spud for making your video. Thank you both for your entertainment
To help love smash
To love smash ignore the bottom one
that sponsor reading timing fell right into Poppts lap and it is hilarious
Edit: keep up the great content Poppt. I love watching it
The guy you fought on the 1st day won that tournament 💀
you've taken your first steps into a wider world
Hey Jordan. Just wanted to say these most recent videos have been incredible. You've really upped your production game I it needs to be commended. Cheers pal
Loved the video man. Keep it up, this was very motivating :)
Dude how in the world do you get 9-10 ping on a consistent basis?? lol
Dude honestly your channel is gonna probably explode with this idea it's honestly really interesting to watch

Perhaps it should have been a year in melee. That’s the minimum to be considered good given all the problems.
I definitely miss the daily Poppt1 videos instead, but I'm still excited when I see a new upload from you
Happy ur back poppet no more long times between loads do some small stuff in between plz ;(
Saw this accidentaly posted a while back and I've been excited ever since!

Winning 1 set vs Winning 2 sets? That's already a 100% increase!

This sounds like a nightmare I would have after watching a melee tourney
I love Melee so much, and I watch top level Melee sets often, I hope to see you continue to play even more after part 2 comes out
Can't wait for the day when the training pays off and Poppt1 becomes Ultra Instinct
No shot he played Akira on his SECOND match.
Poppt should make video called “beating as many games as I can in 1 hour”
WHATS FUNNY TOO IS THAT I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE UNDERDOGS PLAY BRAWL SO MUCH
Congrats on the 200k subscribers!
Bro, i wish i would have gotten this good after a YEAR in this game!
maybe you got some good help here and there but the progress is INSANE, especially your mentality about losing.
Can't wait to watch this for a week straight
The skyrim music at 17:24 I love it
What I’ve gathered from this video:
1. Poppt is a human
2. uhhhhhhhhhhh
One Thing that might level you up 500% immediately is, remember to ledge hog.
"I wasn't even breakfast, I was an entree". Poppt1-2022. I think you meant "appetizer" lol.

Melee is definitely not the kind of game where you can get good in 1 week. Don’t be disappointed in yourself!
Hey, I just had my first Smash Ultimate tournament a few days ago. Got minced in the first set and only won one round in the second, so I feel that embarrassment lol

Best way to move into the sponsor segment I've ever seen. Also, I'm down for the puppy training video lol
You are the person that motivates me to keep practicing smash
Excited to see more! Melee's my all time favorite game, even though I'm too busy to keep up with it these days.
Dude let’s go, nothing brings me joy like the joy that melee creates:) love to see you after a long time poppt!
Now I am invested in the storyline 🙏
Hey Poppt, love the vid and can’t wait for the rest of the series. It’d be cool though if for later vids you describe what technical things and mechanics you learn about the game so we know exactly how you are improving.
We NEED A DARK SOULS EPISODE
As a melee player I love this video
Bet nobody has ever asked this question before: can we get more smash bracket reactions?
Show us what an optimal dog looks like Mr. Poppt1
Can’t wait for the part 2
I've been waiting for this. I need part 2.
Love these types of videos where you try to learn new fighting games. Would love to see. Guilty Gear and DBZ one
Next year: "I taught my dog how to play melee and won a tournament"
Competitive TF2 with HopCat when?
What do you call a pig that does karate? A pork chop

Love these new training videos. Lots of good analysis of habits and game mechanics
Day 1 of telling poppt1 to make a second channel with content like he used to do (reactions, random elite smash, etc)
You should collab with a melee creator someday !!
That’d be sick!!
Guess you’ll have to stick to Marth for this game. Don’t worry he’s good in this game. (Blue Kirby can easily be beaten in this game, BTW)
I Love This Series So Much!!! I can watch these all day man. Keep It Going!!
17:29 Gosh darn it I love this music and I want to know the name of if instead of searching through 200 musics 😡
Yes! We finally get the next training video arc
I’d love to see a video of you training your dog
would love to play some more games and help u improve :)

You should do some doubles training video for any smash because you never did a doubles tournament video
The transition to the ad is insane
