Basically if you want to master Fox you need to develop a mindset of someone who is always on a sugar rush because from start to finish you're gonna be pressing buttons from attacking the opponent to attacking the air while you're waiting for your opponent to respawn, in cartoon form by the time the match is over you're fingers would be completely tied in knots
Reminds me of the gameplay of Star Fox where you're moving at high speeds running and gunning while doing crazy motion techniques like corkscrew spins and loop-the-loops.
if you lose to fox you’re just worse. most players use heavy character with huge area damage like donkey, dedede, link, etc because they don’t have to be accurate. they just throw the attack out and its chances of hitting are great while fox has to be dead on target or miss lmao
@@Youngmuniii That's not a healthy mindset to have because you make it sound like its an absolute Law, victories aren't based off the character alone its based on how the players uses said character
The holy grail I was finding for a 3 years, thank you for publishing this + it was a fabulous experience working with Izaw for art of fox. For newcomers who want to pick up fox, welcome to corneria.
I had a good time helping out with this and learned a lot about Fox in the process. Hopefully we see a lot of new players pick up Fox after this, Fox is the truth.
I actually bought a pair of those GMG glasses and I can vouch that they make your eyes feel so much less tired just by putting them on. Great purchase.
I love this series so much, I would love to see what you do with the art of pokemon trainer, I like to think it's just gonna be a 2 hour long video going over all the pokemon LMAO
DUDE! I’ve been playing fox more the past few days and just searched for this video, assuming there was already one out. I’m so stoked on this release timing!
I’m still new to this game. I’ve always knew about it even as a kid (I’m 25 now) but never really cared to play because it was so much going on and seemed hard. But before I knew fox was like an S tier player I knew as soon as I saw fox he was my main because as a kid he was literally my favorite character in video games. And then his reflector is so fucking clutch. The nickname for the reflector too made me really like fox even more. THE SHINE! Fox is the goat forever. So glad to see him still rocking in these games and kicking ass like he used to on game cube.
Keep it going bruh. Love these Guides. They are the best ones I seen. Can't wait to see the other characters that you haven't had the chance to make the arts of
I had to completely change my way of playing with fox since I was great in Melee with him. It's like I was re learning him all over. Now I'm knocking off the rust since I have a new generation I'm training after saying I can beat all of them at once with fox. Then did it. He's my favorite character despite his flaws. Which I have begun to compensate for. 10/10 detailed guide. Smash bros vet here since the N64 Days.
This was sooooo well made Really hoping for the Art of Shotos soon, I think there won't be too many changes other than maybe some fixes to where it'd be possible to make a video like that. Love my characters and desperately want more people to rep them :)
Man Izaw every time you put out stellar work for these videos. I always like watching them and figuring out how each character works. Of course my favorites are your art of Link videos (bombs included)! Keep up the great work!
Wow this was great, I did put a lot of time into fox and stuggled with utilt turnaround utilt and shine spikes. This clarified everything, thanks Izaw and everyone that worked on this video!
An art of Lucas would be a godsend for all aspiring Lucas players like myself. He is a lot more complicated that he seems upfront but has so much potential. Love you Izaw, keep doing what you do
honestly i think fox is the hardest character in the game, he just controlls so weirdly, his fast falling and dash speed is great, but his horizontal aerial movement speed is really slow, an so keeps you hovering in range of opponents alot of the time and you die so early being that light.
i wish everyone right here in this exact space was able to see my fox mccloud costume, i felt like no one in my town truly appreciated it....... but this video is such a good review and tips, seeing that learning when to grab is the most difficult part for me to pick up. Keep up the good work!!!
just started playing Fox a few weeks ago, i used to be awful as him just a year ago. and suddenly i was just so much better, and i can't explain why other than i have a deeper understanding of the game. watching this video i found... i already do a lot of what was shown? don't know what that says about me as a player, especially because i was figuring things out on my own. not looking at How to Play, or Light tournament matches. but against certain matchups i end up playing lame, because i can't always pressure them. so instead i force them to approach me, knowing they'll make mistakes and using Fox's speed and burst potential to punish them. i did learn a couple new things, like using drill more often and how to use it properly. and it was overall really insightful, and i surprised myself.
Great video. I've always loved Star Fox and wanted to get good with Fox himself but I was intimidated by how fast he is so I usually go for Wolf instead (who I SD with constantly) but this video was a huge help
Imagine being preasured as fox what do you do? 1- Nair 2-Nair 3-Nair 4-Nair 5-Nair 6- A super techniqual Attack cancelled Back air Starter combo that does 50-60%.
i think fox, yoshi, sheik, and maybe someone else are the only rushdown characters falcon doesn't really have good approach options as far as i know, not as bad as those of characters like dedede but not really very good either of course i am not exactly a very good player so i am definitely wrong about something
fox is pretty cool in ult. it just sucks that the game design of ultimate limits your ability to be free form. i would love it if ult had more universal movement options to make neutral more fun. also, fuck the buffer system. the game feels so brainless and clunky because of it
Man, I've waited for this for so long. Thank you, dude - Patreon support is incoming. If you can manage it somehow I would be also very happy about a Art of Pac-Man or Mega Man tho' I can understand that this might be a little more work. Either way, I really appreciate the video!
Unfortunately, no one goes into his other strength and that is his ability to break shields. The reason this is such a massive topic that is often missed is because most consider his projectiles to be weak. In fact, his projectiles are probably the most broken as they are his best combo dealer. You use his tech to break your opponents overuse in blocking. This puts them in a staggered state. Punishing it with fox's blaster doesn't knock them out of the deep slumber. So you can just spam the projectiles until they break out of the animation. This usually gets past 60% in damage easily.
You should do an art of wario. As far as I know tweek didn’t make a guide on him but he did on diddy Kong so there is definitely a lack of an in depth video guide for him.
Thanks for the guide man. I'm trying my hand at learning my first hard character after being a K Rool OTP since launch. The match up I want to spend the most time on is vs Cpt. Falcon. My buddy has mastered him so I want to be able to best him. Hope I'll be able to catch up to him soon.
the only thing i felt like wasn't covered was if you wanna move past the lowest level of fox try to use more moves like down tilt or down air to RAR back airs at the beginning of a combo route tree as using alot of neutral airs and dash attacks, albeit easy to execute, will stale the moves significantly leaving a lot of potential damage on the table.
