Your rock Rob! Glad I found you! I just got myself a 1973 Scotty to restore. Will be watching all of your content!!
Cool. Good luck on your build
Funny, I just made that exact build procedure comment, that you jus did, to another guy that removed the foam and replaced it with insulation fiberglass that you normally use in home walls. I told him to use the solid thick foam in his camper door. I'm sure his newly repaired door is going to be a lot more flimsy now. Thumbs Up!
Thank you. Foam insulation is the way to go!
Looks like the exact same flimsy door in my 1962 nomad canned ham. A great help to be able to fix it, just missing the screen door
They need bracing
I have a 1976 Toyota Chinook RV like to work on the back door it was thinking about instead of the fiberglass on the outside a piece of white sheet metal that I already have for the outside like to know your opinion
Rebuilding the door with sheet metal sounds like a good idea to me.
Rob, what kind of tack gun were you using? Can you use that when working on the rest of the camper?
Thanks
18ga brad nailer. I use it on all the camper
Cardboard?! Who would have thought.
The 60's were a wild time.
very good job but I would like to see how to install the glass as new plastic seal
Its a little tricky. Next time I replace one I will film it.
@@RobTheRebuilder If because I have a RV 1964 Yell CT I does not have the glass where I can buy the glass seal
Would love to know more about the window. My camper had no window when I got it. Did you have the glass cut to the shape of the window hole?
What kind of gasket did you use?
You can cut class or plexiglass and the glass shop will have the exact gasket you need. It is cheap to have them do it.
@@RobTheRebuilder Thanks for the info!
